Tammy, Andrew is adorable and he has grown so much.

JenB, thanks so much for the updated list. I have been away from all the threads for a while because work was so crazy last week. Sounds like you had a great time in Glasgow.

Socal, so sorry to hear about the bleeding. Hope it goes away and you don't see it again. I have not had this before but I have heard of it. Have they asked you to stay off your feet for a while? I hope you can get some rest and don't try to lift anything. Let DH do all the work for a little while.

Kiwi Expat (Andrea), Sounds like you had a great time on your vacation (holidaying). I live within 20 miles of my entire extended family, so I can't imagine only seeing them every once in a while. When is your cycle start date?

Belly4#2, Welcome to the 40's thread. I look forward to cheering you on through this next cycle - Both you and Andrea!!

Amy and Kat - how is tmt going? Have you started your cycles yet?

Catherine, so glad to hear you are feeling better and pants now fit. :D Any morning sickness?

Chriss, I know what you mean about being busy. So glad to hear about the scan. Sounds good - 6 follies and more on the way. Good luck this week on your ET. Let us know the date when you find out. I'll send some glitter to celebrate.

Sonia, how are you doing? Do you have any dates for your ET yet? Hope all is well.

Is the Andrea on the list the same person as Kiwi Expat, or do we have 2 Andrea's?

LuAnne, how are you? Morning sickness any better? When is your next scan? Hope everything is going good with you.

As for me, DH and I are preparing to move. It is only 20 miles, but DS will go to a different school and we will be within 500 yards of my mom and dad; aunt and uncle; and my sister and BIL. We have to get our house ready to sell and fix up the one we are moving to. Sister & BIL just bought this 19 acres with a house and asked us to move in and only have to pay utility bills until we find what we want or build. We couldn't pass this up. It is slightly bigger than our current house and it's close to my family. With EC and ET coming up in Oct, I'm not sure this is going to be a great time, but it is keeping me very busy right now, so time should fly. Lupron shots are going good. AF showed late last Thur. and I wasn't expecting it. Called RE and they said this was suppose to happen. :? So now waiting on 1st lining scan next week. I am really getting excited.

Love and hugs,
Kim

'Kiwi expat' is Andrea!

Post by Kiwi expat »

Hi ladies

There is so much happening, I'm afraid things have got a little confusing! I am the same Andrea on the list (altho I have to thank Jen for the second welcome for Kiwi expat! )I'll post the list again and correct it.
Actually, I tried to post under my name initially when I first registered, but there are quite a few Andreas out there on the board, so hence my 'nick name'. (As far as I know tho, I'm the only one in the Over 40s thread?)

Belly4#2 - Hi there - glad you found us! I've already replied to you on the DHEA general thread before I had read your posting here so sorry for the repetition. And yes, let's be cycle buddies soon!

Kim - it must be nice to have family living so close (think about all those handy babysitters nearby!!)

Nothing much to report here. Living my life precariously through all you BFPs, so don't forget to keep us updated on your progress!

Big hi to everyone else,
Andrea

Me again! Hope I didn't 'balls' the list up!

Kim - just reread your post. I'm hoping to start my next cycle either mid Oct or mid Nov. It all depends on my FSH levels which I'm trying to get down through taking DHEA and some Chinese herbs over the last few months. (Desparately trying anything and everything at the moment!)

It's all really a trade off timewise (at our age!) between the length of time on DHEA and my biological clock which seems to be ticking by faster and faster these days...! The relatively controversial DHEA trials prescribe a minimum of 4 months before most women showed any noticeable effects. By Oct I would have been on it for only 2. But we'll wait and see - not long now! I definitely don't want to drag this thing out over Xmas as we want to go home this year for the holidays :D

Good day ladies-

This will be short.

Today DH and I learned a wee bit of sad news. With much pain in relaying this, it appears our little peanut ceased to thrive after a few days of the heart beat detection. Naturally this has greatly sadden us.

I want to send a huge thank you to you all for inquiring as to how my health has been progressing through this last month. It really means a lot to me.

I also want to wish LuAnne and Socal all the best as their wee ones grew over the next several weeks and months. My positive thoughts are with you.

Wishing all the ladies in tmt all the best and if you'll have it the baby dust I hold dear to my heart. All the best to you as you enter the 2ww period.

Lastly, I want to wish the ladies in waiting [tmt] blessed luck.

I look forward to reading about more BFPs. mostly I look forward to reading the birth stories from this group of fine women.

As for us, in the immediate future I have another medical procedure to look forward to :( Once over this unforseen hurdle, we will regroup and decide what is best for us.

Thank you again everyone. I love ya'll, your inspirational words of wisdom.

Wishing everyone much success

Dear Catharine,
I am so sorry to read your news. Please know that I am thinking of you and your husband.
To look on the bright side, you've seen that you can get pregnant and that is an enormous step in a positive direction. Thanks for all of your inspiration.
Sending a big hug your way, xx Amy

Hello to all the wonderful women on this thread. Hope everyone is hanging in there.

Chriss - good luck with your ER. Sounds like your numbers doubled since the last round. that is great!

LuAnne - good luck with your scan this week.
Socal - how are things with you?

Kim - good luck with your move. sounds like the ideal surrounding to raise a family. That is one thing I miss living here, having my family so close by.

Sonix & JenB - hope you both are getting along well with your meds and are settled back into your routines now that your holidays are over...when do you actually find out when the transfers will take place?

Tammy & Bev - thanks for the baby updates! Andrew has really changed even in the short time I've been on this thread.

I hope (hope, hope, hope) to find out by the end of the week when I might get the green light to begin. Maybe I'll get the chance to cycle with Andrea, Belly4#2 and the other fine ladies in waiting! At least AF is back on schedule - hooray for that.

sorry if I've missed anyone!

take care,
xx Amy

Catharine – I don’t believe this is happening to you. Life is so unfair. I’m so sorry to read your sad news and hope you will get some answers and new hope very soon. Thanks for thinking of us too at this very difficult time. Take care of yourself. xxx

Hi all and thank you for the warm welcome. I am looking forward to hanging out with you gals.

Catharine, I am so sorry to read your news. Sending you good wishes and hoping that once you and DH have had time to digest it and you deal with the medical procedure you will work out a plan of action that will have you rarng to go and feeling positive.

Andrea, I am really looking forward to our start which is coming up soon - but not soon enough:). I send you low FSH vibes and lots of luck on the DHEA. I have been on it since about late June, but till about a month ago I was taking all 75mg at once, once perday. More recently, maybe 5-6 weeks ago I started taking 25 mg 3 times per day which I am told is the way to go. So we will see. My AUgust cycle showed no miracles from the DHEA but then I had only been taking it for a month and a half and as i said once per day. ...oops well you just reminded me i gotta take the midday dose, so off i go.

Kim, your new home opportunity sounds like a dream! Bigger house for free and near to family - please sign me up for one of those. My family is all over the place but really far from each other, my siblings are in Australia, my parents in South Africa and I am in California. My inlaws live in Canada - so that feels just around the corner comparatively. I am sure it will be wonderful for you to all be near each other.

Hello ladies

I’m very busy at work at the moment - seems like I’m not the only one.

Welcome to Belly4#2 – hope time flies by for you up to your treatment start. Do keep us posted.

Bev – glad to see you popping in again and thanks for thinking of us. I had been wondering how you and Wills were getting on. It’s always a pleasure to read about the progress of the little ones we’ve been following from the very early stages…

Tammy – great to be able to get a peek at gorgeous little Andrew again. Wow, he’s certainly growing well.

Jen – any news about starting the E2 patches yet? Hope all is progressing well for you.

Amy – congrats on AF visit. Hope all is well with the test results and you get the go-ahead to start very soon.

Chriss – I know the feeling about having so little time running up to ET. Good luck with your further scans. Your follie progress is sounding good. Take good care of yourself and try not to work too hard. I know, I really should be taking some of my own advice right now.

Hey Kim – good luck with your 1st scan! Which cycle day will that be? Hope you’ll be getting plenty of help from your family with the move.

I don’t have any indication of when ET will be yet – we’ll get only 2-4 days notice before we have to fly out the clinic. After my first scan last week I suddenly got a call from the Doc’s assistant in the middle of the afternoon at work to ask if we were OK about a donor they had ready! It turned out to be a false alarm because the doc decided it was too early. In the meantime I’ve had 2 further scans. Today my lining was suddenly down to only 6,2mm ! (reduced from 9,2mm last Thursday) :( I’ve reported it to the clinic and am waiting for a reply whether I should increase the meds or go for a further scan. In the meantime I am drinking more water and raspberry leaf tea which I’ve read is supposed to be good to develop the lining. It’s all ups and downs as usual on this roller coaster…

A big hello to everyone else here.

Love
Sonia xxx

Sonia,
Good luck with the lining and the donor matching process. Hope you get to take it easy at work soon. I have also heard about raspberry leaf tea as good for the uterus. Thinking of you as you whirl by on the rollercoaster.

Hi everyone,
Catharine, I am thinking of you. I've been through something similar last March. We made it to 7 and 1/2 weeks, heard the heatbeat as well. Then the next week, the bad news came. I really feel for you and I know that the only thing that helped me was time. I did have some extra bloodwork done at my own insistance and we discovered that I have a clotting disorder. Not sure if you have investigated any of this and I also don't know your whole history, but just trying to help you come up with some answers. Now I am taking a baby aspirin a day and there's a plan in place for when I get pregnant. Ask lots of questions. Please let me know what you discover, if anything and stay well. You know that this is a place where we all understand and you can vent any time. Also, please know that we all truly want the best for you. It's a special group so lean on us.

To everyone else... good to read about all of you. Sending my best to you. I just found out my ET will be on Thursday. I'm feeling a little nervous. that's to be expected. Thinking of you all. Keep smiling! -chriss

Catherine, I am so sorry to hear about your sad news. The same thing happened for us May 2005. We even had a tape recording of the u/s and heart beat. My heart goes out to you and DH. You are in my prayers.

Got to go for now - work is crazy this week.
