Hi everyone

Jumping ahead of myself a bit here as im only 15 and a half weeks, but Im sure I can;t be alone when I say we've been thinking of baby names for years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just thought, on the basis that we're spread all over the country, and will probably never meet in person, it wouldn't matter to share names - if we all call our babies the same thing - we're not likely to bump into each other anyway!!!

Anyway, our choices are Max or Olivia.

Love to hear your choices/ideas

LOL

Rachel
x
Hi Rachel, it's never too early to think of names - I used to think of my favourite ones years before we even tried to get pregnant!! I think it's just a fun thing to do.

I'm sure we'll change our minds but at the moment I'm favouring James or Ruby. My husband unfortunately has become rather attached to the name Boris, but I've got plenty of time to deal with this so am not too worried !!!!!

Come on girls, let's hear 'em .........

Jo. XXXXX
Hi girls,
We have chosen Joshua for our little bump. (It has been my favourite boys names for years) and Bailey we think will be his middle name. (Dh's favourite name) We had Ella picked if he was a girl.
Max and Olivia are lovely Rachel, and James and Ruby are lovely too Jo...but definatly work on dh re: Boris!!! (Not as bad as Adolf or Attila thou!!)
Isn't it fun?!
Love Kirsty
xx
TTC for 7 yrs (have severe endo and pcos and hubby has v low sperm) until became pg after ICSI cycle last feb. Now am the lucky mother of perfect little boy called Joshua born last october.
Like the names so far girls!!

We're pretty set on Max and Harvey for our little fellas. What do you think?

Hxx

PS - agree with the Boris thing!
Those are all lovely names.

Even though we had thought of names for years, its only now I think how important it is to get the right one. My mum and dad asked if we had thought of any, and we were so nervous thinking they wouldn't like them and even though it doesn't really matter if they like them, it kind of puts you off if someone says they don't like a name doesn't it! Anyway, they thought they were lovely although my dad keeps going on about Scarlet if its a girl (apparently he didn't have the same enthusiasm for that sort of thing when my sister and I were born, according to my mum!) I do like Scarlet although Olivia has been a fave for ages. (Have had a couple of jokes from Rob's friends about calling a baby after a margarine spread though!)

Do you find you keep listening out in shops and stuff for names - im terrible for it and if i hear someone call out a name and they look really skanky, it totally puts me off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love

Rachel
x
Ian and I are still throwing names abouts so far we have: Ians favorites are Jacob Alexander and Amelia Grace and mine are Madelaine Rosa and Oliver William!!

Although this is all subject to change for ages Ian wanted Makenzie and Elennor so you never know.

Love Mags
Keep coming up with the names girls! I teach so associate names with pupils (and often not for good reasons -lol) so am interested in hearing all your thoughts.
I'm only 12 weeks and still bleeding ( ) so am a little too scared to think about this is any depth. Like Lily Kate for a girl though...!
Zoe x

You've got some good names here girls! Like Zoe, I teach and I pity the poor children lumbered with very unusual (shall we say!) names. I know what you mean Zoe - I instantly had a list of names that I would never, ever consider because of the children with the same names that I've taught.

Just in case you were wondering, my two are Daniel Zinzan (Zinzan after one of my favourite rugby players!) and Charlotte Emily. I wanted to call her Emily but DH overruled me and as it is she's not 'girly' enough to be an Emily so it was the right call!

Jules
TTC 5 years. Daniel & Charlotte born 22.03.02, 1st ICSI treatment. TTC for 4 further years. 2nd ICSI cycle abandoned, 3rd cycle BFN. Looking forward to being a happy family of 4.
Hi Everyone

Its lovely to be able to pick names, so far if its a girl we have been thinking of Sherkena Leigh for a girl and for a boy do like Ollie but I am sure these will change over time who knows.
Love
Shell.
xx
Well, we just couldn't agree - it's such a difficult thing! Plus equally problematic when you hear a previously favourite name being screeched across a shopping centre!

After trawling through 1000 names in the baby name book from Mothercare, we decided on Scarlett for a girl, and Jay for a boy. We have a very long and rather exotic surname, so are limited by syllables!

We have since had the result of the amniocentesis which was fine, and have discovered that it's a boy! So for the time being we're sticking with Jay.

Hope everyone is well,
love Sally xxx

Hi Sally - must be lovely to know your little Jay is fine after the amnio. Could I ask - did you decide to go for the amnio as the blood test revealed a liklihood of anything particular, or just a high risk. We're due our "triple test" soon and the thought of an amnio scares me somewhat - I'm really hoping it's not necessary to have one but I'm 36 which is a bit of a bad start!!

Lots of Love - Jo. XXX (James or Ruby's mum-2-b!!)
Hi Girls

Like all the name's use have said!!

My fav is Elli and Dani for girls and Cyle and Callum for boys!!

Louise
18wks 3dys Twins
Hi Jo, I'm 36 too, and opted to have a private Nuchal scan and Primark test (they test for 4 markers in the blood), but they have to do it between weeks 11 and 13. Very similar to the triple test really. The reason I had the amnio was because it showed a slightly elevated risk for Down's. The cut off where they say you're probably OK is a risk of 1 in 250, but mine came back as a 1 in 140 chance, which knocked me for six a bit. We had a think and decided to have the amnio, to find out for certain. I know 1 in 140 isn't that high, only a .5%, but it still really worried me. The amnio was fine - I was terrified but it didn't hurt at all - I've had worse times having blood tests done! and I rested for 2 - 3 days afterwards. The worst thing was the waiting - 2 - 3 weeks as they have to culture the cells. You can also find out if you want to for certain what the sex is. Best of luck with your triple test. Honestly, I thought the worst worrying was during the 2ww - it's nothing compared to the worrying that starts once you get a positive result!

Best of luck, love SAlly xxx
