Hi ladies, I got a call from the clinic this morning and although it wasn't a clear cut decision, they have decided to wait till day 5 to see which of the 5 embryos that seem to be doing well (2 6 cell, 1 7 cell, 1 8 cell, and 1 9 cell) develop into good blastocysts, however there is a risk that when we get to day 5 that none make it to blastocyst or are of poor quality...which means they will still reimplant but I will pretty much know that it may not be successfull. Apparently they believe it makes no difference to the embryo to be inside me or outside of me in the petri dish so that at day 5 if none of them make it, the chances are the ones inside me will have done the same, so then it feels like it makes sense to wait, although it will be heartbreaking if they don't look great at day 5, but i suppose at least i will know....hmmm..food for thought really-ignorance can sometimes be bliss! Anyway decision is made now and we'll just have to wait and see what the lord has in store for me!

good luck to you other ladies...can't wait to hear how you got on!

OHG Kelly that is great!!! That has to be the best feeling ever!!! Get lots of rest and jsut enjoy the next phase of your amazing journey.

Love, Nerns and Christi, This has to be hard the waiting huh. Hurry up and wait :) ya'll are next I just know it.

Michelle, it does sound like we are on the same cycle that will be great!! as far as the brusing I agree with Love I think the ones going in that hurt are the ones that I am brusing from. We are all little pin cusions right now :)

Donnell, Hope all is well, can't wait for update.

Ingrid how are you?? Hope all is well sending love your way too.

I know I have missed some, but love to you all Happy Thoughts and Prayers to all!!

As for me right now I am just awaiting starting stims yeah, I am starting to get allittle excited, trying to keep up the postive attitude, sometimes it is hard, real hard!! You girls have been a blessing through this. You see My DH is a police officer and he works the night shift and so we reallly only see each other 1 maybe 2 days a week. I never thought it would be this hard, but this to shall pass and it is all worth it in the end. So having you girls to talk to is truley a blessing and the love is wonderful here.

Lots of Positive thoghts for everyone, there are lots of BFP for everyone.

Love,

Kim

Nerms,
I'm sorry you have to wait another couple of days. It must be so hard not knowing. I feel the same way. I got my appt. time for today, but they won't tell me anything. The dr. will go over everything today. I go in at 3:30 for my ET. I'm praying that at least 2 made it to the transfer. I'll let everyone know my results.

Good luck to all the ladies who are stimming or about to start. Trust me, once you start, it goes by so quickly. I can't believe I'm already having the ET today. It feels like I was just in the doctor's office being told we had to do IVF.

I had my 2nd progesterone shot last night. Once again, didn't hurt that bad, but I did bleed when he took the needle out. I hope that's ok. I really don't have any soreness from them. I can't believe it. I make sure I hold the vial in my hand for 10-15 min. I don't know if warming it really helps or not, but I'm not about to stop :)

Nerms, So sorry you may have to wait!! but there's still hope they may "take" . :D I still think your chances are good that you have that many and Blastocyst stage is supposed to be the best right?.....the ones they transferred for me were 8 cell and 9 cell blasts....

Christie, good luck w/ ET, I'll be thinkin of you at 3:30!

I go in my another test tomorrow to make sure my levels are rising. I have a good feeling, just trying to live in the moment at this point. My dh is now wondering how many we'll have, if one or both could split... I told him too early to think about that, lets just enjoy this moment.

Kim, good luck with starting your stims, that would be difficult w/your dh not there but you can do it! I had to give myself a couple stim shots when my dh had to go away for work and I had myself worked up so much I was shaking then after I did it, I could barely feel a thing! Good luck though! :D

What to expect

Post by PrincessB »

Can someone tell me what to expect? I started BCP on Tuesday. I go to the Dr. tommorow for the in vitro counseling session. Can someone give me a general time line of when everything happens? And should by DH go with me to the dr. tommorow?
This board looks so awesome and helpful. I look forward to talking with all of you.

Princess B- Welcome to th board you will find lots of wonderful girls here.

I think everyone's Protocal is a little different. I know my RE's office has severl protocall's depending on age, reason for infertility, response to medications etc. Our IVF Consultation consisted of discussing all the paperwork (ton's), fiancial's, going over all the medications and what the side effects are and scheduling for injections teaching, prescriptions etc. I would suggest you bring your DH. My husband was not able to get off work for our initial visit and it was a little bit of a mess, since he was not there to sign the papers I had to take them to be notorized. I think every RE is different and of course depends on where you live to.

Good Luck and keep us updated. :D

Had my ET. We transferred 2 embbies. They were both 8 cell and 1 fragmentation. I have no idea what that even means. I know that 0 frag is the best. She said they were good quality. They even gave us a picture of them. So cute :) They also said we had two that we could freeze. So, good news. Now, the dreaded two week wait. Good luck to everyone else on their ER and ET.

KD, don't do it. If it is negative, you'll just get all stressed out and that's not good for you or the baby. They aren't reliable. Lots of women get negatives and then the blood test is positive.

Carolinagirl, good luck with the hcg. Don't stress about the hcg shot. It's not that bad. Those needles look scary, but they don't hurt anymore than the other shots. You'll probably be a little sore after the ER, but by the next day, you'll feel much better. Just relax. It will all be over in a few days.

Hi everyone
We transfered 3 grade 1 embryos with no fragmentation. We had assisted hatching done as well. The embryologist said my babies were excellent. I hope this works. Now the 2 week wait! Now I am resting! Talk to u all soon!
