Starting very 1st IVF in October...anyone else??!!

I'm looking for October Cycle Buddies too!!!

I just started my BC today for 14 days. I am scehduled to start Lupron injections on October 8th with a possible retrieval on 27 October. We are doing the Shared Risk and have to use ICSI because of DH sperm morphology.

I've been taking the prenatals faithfully for the past month and have been doing Accupuncture for the past three weeks (once a week).

I'm hoping we all get BFPs!!!!

how is the accupuncture going? i've never done it, but people seem to suggesting it a lot. as a matter of fact my sil just sent me a link about it. i too am doing icsi as well as assited hatching. i did the risk sharing with my 1st ivf round (bfp 1st time) and again the 2nd round with no continuing pregnancies. our dr. is not willing to do any more cost sharing, but will do 1 more ivf cycle. i feel a lot of pressure about this cycle and am really hoping it works. i think if it doesn't i will beg him to do another! but, i guess as he said, at some point you need to accept your reality....

hi ladies...just wanted to upsate i will be taking my last bc on sat then hopefully af will show up at the beginning of the week. dr said oct 6 i wil be starting gonal f so excited!!!!!!!

I don't have any dates yet. I see my RE on Monday 10/1 so I should know then. I am coming up to the 3rd wk of bcp so I don't know if i will start stims or start a new pack of bcp. I received all my meds yesterday so I am read to go. I have also been doing acupuncture/tcm for 6 months, once a week. It is kinda expensive but well worth it. At the very least it is a nice time to relax. I go to a acupuncturist that specializes in fertility and works on ivf patients so it is nice that she understands both sides. Anyway, I am excited to have you all this time around. It will be nice to compare notes......

Well so far this looks like the month for my first IVF. gekasbaby and washingtonda it looks as if we might be close as I started my BCP Wed. 9/26. I will have a sonohysterogram done on Monday morning and then if all goes well hopefully I will have a better idea or time frame. My nurse said it will all be dependant on that test. If it is good then about day 18 of BCP I will start with lupron. From then on I have no clue since this is my first try. I pray for everyone to have BFP's this time around.

My doctor is it's okay for me to be on the BC for 14 days. I am happy about that because I am so ready to get started.

As far as the accupuncture. It's going well. My insurance pays for 24 free visits a year and I just started so I am gonna start going twice a week starting next week. All I have to pay is my $10 co-pay.

It's very relaxing and I'm noticing a change in my menstruals and the way I feel. It could be a mind thing but I'm convinced.

I am LadyB. I am new to the forum and looking for people that are also going through an October IVF. This will be our first attempt. I am supposed to start Lupron on Monday, October 1 as long as the baseline sonogram looks good. We are expecting an ER on October 22.

Wow!! We've got a good long thread going!! I took my last BC pill last night! So AF should be here 2-4 days. Then off to my baseline and start stims.

Wahingtonda: just a quick question if you don't mind me asking how bad is you DH morphology? My DH is abnormal too so I'm just wondering if we'll have to do ICSI.

So far my ER will be approx. Oct 16th. Could change depending what day AF arrives..

Hi ladies,

Quick question might be tmi...sorry. I haven't been on bcp in like 7 yrs and since I started I have had non stop spotting/clotting...YUCK! Are any of you experiencing this? I will ask my Re on Monday but wondering if any of you are going through this too.

To wannabeamomma: I, too, had not taken BC in about 7 years. Yes, I spotted, bled at odd times, and had the most awful clots ever. In the middle of that, I had to have an unexpected hysteroscopy. That just made things worse for another week or two. Luckily, as I'm drawing to an end, things have settled down.

This was my first month [/b]EVER using BCP, and I spotted for about a week after AF. I've heard that's not uncommon.

I almost forgot, a few weeks ago, I was tested for Ureaplasma, and it came back positive. My DH and I were treated with antibiotics for 10 days. Who knows how long I've had it..maybe years. Never knew, no signs or anything. I guess it's a bacterial infection that isn't good when trying to get pregnant. Anyone here experience this?? I'm wondering if this has contributed to our infertility problems??

Hi everyone,
I am starting my second round of IVF- I go off BCP on tuesday and start stims on oct 6. They are looking at tentative retrieval Oct 18. I did my first IVF in August, hopefully this goes better than the last! Looking forward to going through this with all of you- it's great to have support. May we all get the BFP!!!!!!!!!!!!
