Some advise please

Post by nerms »

I'm in the mood for some advise...I hope you ladies don't mind....

I had a fair blastocyst replaced and an 8 cell developing into a blast (but not quite there) on day 5. I didn't get a very positive feeling from the embryologist, sho was very kind but didn't want to make me hopeful.

I wander if any of you lovely ladies who have succeeded in pregnancy can give me any cause for hope when the blast isn't best quality. I was told the embryo was good in that two distinct types of cells could be seen, but cells along the outer border didn't look of great quality.

I don't know why but I still feel hopeful and I think that would only be enhanced by any stories you can share.

Hope you can help

Thanks in advance

Hi Nerms

A slightly different scenario but maybe I can give you some hope...

On our 2nd IVF attempt they only retrieved 3 eggs, 2 of which fertilised but when we went in for ET on day 3 one of the embies had reached a 4 cell, which apparently it should have by that stage, but didn't look as though it was going to go on to divide any further, and the other was a 2 cell, but had only just divided and looked like it might divide again that day. The embryologist and my consultant told us things didn't look too promising and to prepare ourselves that "slow starters" had a lower pregnancy rate. I honestly thought it was all over and remember crying the whole way through the transfer. I really did prepare myself that it wouldn't work so you can imagine how shocked I was when 12 days later we had a +ve HPT!

I really think its up to the hands of fate to decide when its your turn. I will keep everything crossed for you that this is yours.

Ems is right...just hope for the best....

Just think positive, or you'll drive yourself nuts...!!!! It's stressful enough waiting for the 1st test..

It just sounds like you had more conversation with the embryologist than most women do...our embryologist was very helpful as well...

Now go and medidate and try not to worry!
GOOD LUCK

Just be very kind and gentle with yourself..I was so giddy I just kept rubbing my belly and talking to the embies! They must've liked it...they stuck around

Go talk to your belly and smile...and best to you!
