Hello Girls-

Rachael- How was your appointment w/ the ped? I've been thinking about you everyday and hoping that things get better for you and Makayla. Please keep us posted...

Nicola- It's sounds like Jack is doing great... and getting so big. I hear you about holding your little angel for hours and thinking your so blessed -I do the same thing w/ Aubrey all the time...

Casy- I'm glad that Joshua has been napping better for you... sounds like you figured things out.

Kim- Sorry to hear the little ones are getting a cold... hopefully they'll get better soon. Well I'll have to take a look at Gymboree for Aubrey's X-Mas outfit (we're going for a family picture - grandma, grandpa & auntie too). However, I have a gift certificate so that will save me...

Colleen- How's Aubrey's little man doing???? I think she might be catching up to him in size.

We just took Aubrey for her 4 month appointment this morning - she is 25 inches long & weighs 14lbs. 13oz. - our little chunker.... her thighs are getting so chunky, but they are so cute! I'll post a new picture tomorrow while at work - it's of her in her bumbo... she just loves it! I'm so glad I started to use it.... I don't know how much use she'll get out of it as her legs are almost to chunky for it.

Well here's wishing you all a great night and day tomorrow...

Tasha

Hello Everyone!

Sorry I did not get on again until today. We have been extremely busy. The ped told us to start giving her rice cereal once a day. She is also suposed to be on a schedule from now on. She really does not like it yet, but I think he is right, she needs the structure. We are spacing her feedings out to two hours for now and in a week or so (once she settles into that schedule), we will space them out three hours. He also wants us to put her to sleep at the same times everyday and do our outings at the same times. Basically, we have to put all our schedules together and figure out how to make them all into one schedule she can live with. As for her feedings, we are to space them out using playtime, baths and just letting her cry. It is really hard, but she is doing better today.

Tasha - Aubrey sounds a perfect size! Makayla has the Bumbo too, but she is not very receptive to the idea of being in it. We use it at the meal times because she can sit with us and be apart of the process.

Colleen - I hope you had fun. Gavin should out grow the BM issue (I am sure you know this already). My oldest had a few episodes of that, but he out grew it quick

Kim - Your angels sounds so very wonderful. I do have the same problem with the shopping. However, I have been contemplating making her some outfits myself. As for the formula, I would never just give one of my kids it. Both the boys had an allergy to a protien in cow's formula and became constipated on the soy one. I have thought about it, but the ped does not think it is worth the risk right now. So we are going to stick it out for now.

CasyP - Joshua sounds like a great size. I am sorry to hear you are having to use a bottle, but we have to do what we have to do. How you feed your child is a personal choice, not a public vote. I am glad you are getting a routine down.

I have to go again, I will try to log on soon again!

Just wanted to pop in to say hello to everyone and have seen your fantastic news Jeck. I am sooo happy for you and DH i am sure you are going to be great parents Jaden is going to be a very lucky little boy. I will keep on checking in to hear your news.
Cmoscar I hope Makayla is doing better now she is in more of a routine and you can give her baby rice.
Angellica i have just seen Roman Kennedy's pics what a sweetheart, he has a huge smile. Sorry to hear he is having problems with his weight gain. Issy hasn't got a cold yet and i am dreading seeing her poorly.

Issy is doing really well and loves giving us smiles. She is sleeping better because we have moved into our new room at last and it is much cooler for her. During the day she loves sleeping outside in the shade, she always has better naps this way and it means i can work outside on the land and have her near me. I am going to post some more photos.

Sorry i haven't done personals but it is good to hear how everyone is doing. Take care all

Racheal--I hope the rice cereal and schedule help you out! I can't even imagine juggling all your schedules into one. But, if anyone can do it, you can! My twins were put on a schedule from day one (by the ped, not me), and I do have to say, I think that's a big reason they seem to be pretty well adjusted. I think it just gives them a sense of stability? Who knows? I pray that this will help your little angel settle for you. As for the allergies, yikes...stay away from formula then...not worth that trouble, right? good for you for making her clothes...I have NO talent in that area. You are so crafty!

Angelica and Ellie--good to hear from you! Sorry to hear that Roman's not porking up yet, but I'm sure he will. Is he a squirmy guy? Braeden is, and he seems so much leaner than my Ellie. I swear, it's just like a man to have trouble putting on weight, huh? :) sorry to hear he has a cold. Mine have colds right now. I hate seeing them that way. Ellie, Issy sounds just precious! I can't wait to see some pics!

Have a good night gals!

hi there girls...wow it's been a really hard week.. Gavin's reflux got really really bad, just as i said it was getting better (i think i cursed myself). so he was miserable and not feeding well.. .would start to suck, and pull away screeming... i know he was hungry, but just couldn't eat.. and it was so hard without DH here to help.. so we were at the doc (for his 4 month) on monday, and he had no weight gain he's still hefty at 16lbs 1 1/2oz, but that made them a little leary.. he was 26inches long.

so we uped the meds and are giving that a try for a couple of days.. yeasterday was much better, but today he didn't want to eat again... only ate at 6:30, and not again until 12:30(and only cuz he was sleeping)...that is double his time.. he normally (we try)is 2 1/2-3hours between. But when his reflux is bad he either always wants to try and eat, but only sucks a few seconds.. i've had to pump to keep my milk up, so adding that to the schedule without DH here... i think that i lost so much hair. and the stuff that stayed turned grey.

rachael- i feel for you... the schedule is really hard, and with my kids in soccer and karate, and their school activites... yeikes . i know your boys are in scouts.. so trying to work it all out... my ped has not said anything to my about trying to keep a strict schedule... you'll have to let me know if it works... i too am not going to do formula... my other two boys had a really hard time on it and were so constipated (gavin doesn't need more of that)..my 3yo still has issues every now and then if he's not eating all his fruits and veggies... good thing he's a good eater. doc told us to use rice cereal too... i'm giving the meds a chance, and then i'll try it.. i didn't want to change more then one thing at once...

kim-soory that you kids have colds hope that they are doing better... i'm knocking on wood, but gavin has not yet had any illness like that! i hope that it stays that way... i'm a shopper too, but as gavin as my 3rd boys, i still have so many handmedowns... but i always get a new christmas outfit (all the pictures, do not want the duplicate outfits, and i'll be able to keep who is who..) i scrapbook, but am so far behind.... Girls outfits seem to be more money then the boys... the boys are pretty much the same ....

tasha- aubrey sounds like a good size... i know what you mean about the thighs.. i think that is why gavin never liked the bumbo... he's always had huge thighs... but now she can catch up, cuz he's not gaining like he was ...we'll have to see what the meds do... we are going to the dells over the weekend... the kids are off school friday and monday... a litttle get away.. we actually started to put gavin in the highchair while we are having dinner, he loves it, and is getting used to eating with the family... he used to cry while we ate anyway, i think that he just wanted to be with all of us..

casy-bed/bath time is like a controlled madhouse... the weekend was not too good, but DH had a good time... i need to spend some extra time with my 3yo as i think he felt a little neglected over the weekend... so we did a couple of special projects and things... it was hard!! so glad that joshua is doing well and the sleeping thing has improved...

angellica-sorryt to hear that roman has a reflux problem, hope that it get s worked out soon.. i'm sure that he'll start gaining the weight, and to have a cold on top of it... yuck, poor kiddo.. hope that he's doing better. he is a cutie

nicola-so glad to hear that jack is doing well, and getting big...i think back to last year... just around this time (next week) is when i found out that i was pregnant... it's gone so quickly.. and to look at gavin and smile...

ellie- sounds so nice to nap outside.. i wish we could do that here... there are so many bugs, and problems with a transmitted virus-west nile, our neigbor right next door got it, and it's really a bad deal... months and months of recovery.. she is a cutie too. i'd love to be at the beach!!

well girls... the laundry is not going to fold itself, and dinner is not jumping into the pan for me... but god bless to you all, and have a GREAT day..

Good Afternoon Girls...

Rachael- I hope the schedule is working for Makayla... keep us posted.

Angellica- Roman is a sweetie... sorry to hear he has a reflux problem and has a cold to top it off. I hope that he gets better soon.

Ellie- Issy is so cute as well... I'm glad to hear that she is doing bed - hopefully she continues like this for you. I'm jealous that she gets to nap outside... Aubrey loves the outside, but our weather is so iffy and like Colleen said the bugs are terrible this year.

Colleen- sorry to hear that Gavin isn't doing well - hopefully upping his meds will work. Also sorry to hear he didn't gain any weight this month... now Aubrey can try and catch up to him. Well have a great time in the Dells this weekend.... the weather is supposed to be nice - where are you guys staying?

Well I've posted new pictures of Aubrey on photo bucket!

Have a great day everyone...

PS- does anyone know where Cowgirl is these days?

Tasha

Hello Everyone

JECK - My thoughts are with you on this very happy day! God has truly blessed your little family. I hope you arrive safely and get some sleep before you must return to daily activities. I hope you will join us here and let Jaben be our little ones Big Brother! I love his room pictures. I am sure he will love it dearly. After this long journey, you will definitely enjoy your angel. BTW - I love the sunglasses. He looks like Tom in Risky Business!

Colleen - I hope Gavin settles down. As for the schedule, it was hell in a hand basket for the first 4 days. By the time we got to day 5+ she started getting used to the routine. She is settling down wonderfully. We still have occasional crying spouts, but overall she is like a new baby. She is now working to catch up with the rest of her internet friends. She is not rolling over, but she is kicking and screaming just to hear herself scream. You might want to try and work on it. Like your boys, we have scouts three days a week so we worked out a schedule that has us doing some sort of outing from 6:30 am to 8:30 pm every night. Some nights we do the shopping, eat out, or just got to the mall and walk around. This really seems to help the evenings which were her worst part. Unfortunately, she is still waking up at night every 3 hours, but we are working on this too.

Tasha - I have cowgirl's number somewhere, maybe I will try to call her. I am almost sure she is just really busy. With school in, any mom with school age children are very busy. I know I spend a great deal of time with my boys, their homework, and their teachers.

Angellica and Ellie - They are beautiful! I just love babies! All the babies are miracles, but I think we have the most handsome/beautiful bunch in the entire site! I hope you are both doing well.

Kim - The rice cereal is working, I think. I know the schedule is helping the most though. She hate it and resisted it at first, but now she is calming down. As for the cereal, she is given it by spoon and she loves it. She tends to wear more of it than she eats, but she looks forward to the meal. Of course it could be because she knows her bath is immediately after the meal. She has always loved the water so this is the best time of the day. As for dealing with three, it is easier than dealing with two of the same age, I think. My older ones can be talked to and put off if necessary, whereas babies must have everything immediately or the world ends! In the end, anyone who attempts to raise a child is very brave and worthy of an award. Children are worth every smile and milestone, but we must all work really hard to get them. So we are just as admirable whether you have one, two, or three. Our four month appointments are coming up! Can you believe they are this old. Yours are only 5 days behind Makayla, so they will be going in to the dr as well. Good luck with the ped.

CasyP - I hope you are well and Joshua is getting big!

Cowgirl - I am praying that Naomi is doing well. We miss you both and hope things settle down enough to allow you to join us again!

I am tired and I threw out my back three days ago. So I am going to lay down since Makayla is doing one of her scheduled naps before the boys arrive. God bless everyone and lets say a special welcome prayer for Jaden!

Jeck, the pics are great! I hope your return trip is going well! I can't believe the "stop" on Guatemalan adoptions...how horrible! I hope they can fix this problem pronto. As I've said before, a good friend of mine adopted her daughter from there last year, and I've seen just how tiring/taxing the process can be. Thank God you're getting to bring him home now!

Racheal--I know what you mean...I can't believe they're almost 4 months old already! Yikes! But, I have to say, they are getting to be fun! Not that we didn't enjoy them before, but their little personalities are really starting to shine! I'm glad Makayla is seeming to settle. I hope it continues for you...and I hope you can get more sleep at night soon!

Girls--I could use some advice. Now, I want to preface this with I'M A FIRST TIMER AND I'M NOT COMPLAINING WHATSOEVER, but I want to know if this is "normal" or not. My babies (thank GOD) are both sleeping between 9 and 10 hours at night. Yeah! :D However, all of a sudden, their naps have shortened considerably. They used to nap for about 30 minutes around 9 am. Around 2 hours at 11:30 or so. Another catnap around 2ish. And then a good 2 hours around 5. Now, all their naps are catnaps. They tend to tire after being awake for 2-3 hours. I let them sleep when they start to "zone out", if you know what I mean. I figure they should nap shorter since they're sleeping so long at night, but I thought I read somewhere that they should at least have 2 naps that around 1 1/2 or 2 hours in length. Any words of wisdom?????? I won't worry about it unless someone tells me to, but I do have to admit, I miss the 2 hour nap at 5....that was the only time I could get anything done around the house! :? Now, I can barely get any dinner cooked because they wake up so quickly!

Have a good weekend...I'm off to bed!

Jeck- thinking of you and praying that you have arrived home safely and all is well. So pleased that you can start enjoying your family at last.

Kim- I don't really have any advice on the nap situation. All I can say is that DD always napped for 30mins until she began walking and then she seemed to need a bit longer. From day 1 her daytime sleep was never good so all the advise about going back to bed and sleeping when they do was no good for me! I used to find it hard as 30 mins was only enough time to race around and do a few jobs and never to relax, but I jsut got used to it. They reason i was frustrated when Joshua started to do this was because I hoped to have a more sleepy baby this time! We did have that one week of short naps but things seem to have improved again for now anyway! Routines change so much, hope your children will start napping longer again soon, but as long as they are happy with the shorter sleeps then not a lot you can do really.

Colleen- sorry about Gavins set back with the reflux. Hope things are improving.

Rachel- How's the back? Hope you managed to rest this weekend and that the schedule is going well.

We are doing ok. Just moved Joshua into own room tonight, little bit nervous! Will be up checking on him most of the night! He slept from 10pm-5am last night so really pleased about that. Once he wakes for the feed though he is awake for 1-1/2 hours, no real crying just noisy gurgling/ moving around/ hitting side of crib etc so I'm awake listening. Have just fed him in his room (after stories on DD bed!) and put him straight down to bed. That was at 19.35, it's now 20.15 and just checked and still wide awake but no crying. He fools me most of the time as is awake and quiet. With DD she was either asleep orscreaming!

Enjoy your weekends everyone, take care
