Hello all.....

Jovigal
Yes I get crampy when I am standing and I have a lot more braxton Hicks contractions when I am up and about. They go away when I sit down but I think that it is somewhat normal to have them when standing for so long. Your ligaments that support the uterus have a lot of work to do when we are standing and they get tired and let you know!!!! Good to hear from you. I hear you about being out of room! We are currently looking for a bigger home. It sounds like you will have a lot of work to do to change things around!!! That really stinks.... I love the name of your DD and your new baby. I like the spellings as well. ..... .. very clever.

Christine
It is good that your baby is weighing in right on! That is a good feeling. Your baby theme sounds so nice. I love those colors!!! Sounds cute!!

Good Morning

TansRN- I love mums, they make the fall brighter
ChristineB-the room sounds great! Thanks for the heads up on the testing...my next appt is on 10-11, so I guess I'll schedule it then
Jovigal- nice spelling...my DH would never go for it, I think it's also a nice connection between the two sister names
Malinka-I hear you about being lazy, I finally feel like I'm getting my energy back
Rikirees- how's it going...any new updates
wannabeone & steph- anything new

We are hanging in there, no new updates...on the baby side. Just waiting for the furniture to come in...although I don't know why I'm so concerned since the rooms not done. DH thinks the pieces are going to be of poor quality so I would like to prove him wrong...new search is for a stroller, I'm thinking on getting an all terrain one that also can accomidate an infant seat..anyone else been looking??

hi noodle and all,

i went in for my glucose test yesterday and a quick scan. turns out there was no fluid around the baby. they suspect my water broke and i had no idea. therefore, until birth, i'll be in the hospital. hopefully it will be at least 8 weeks. (ugh!) not in any pain, no contractions, and cervix is holding closed at 3.3. pray for me and my DH and my baby.

but i got my birthday wish of being pregnant. just hadn't planned on spending the day in the hospital. :(

hope all is well. the hopsital has wifi and the DH brought me a computer, so i'll be checking in between episodes of good morning america, dr. phil, and judge judy. (ugh!)

Rikirees--thank goodness you had an appointment and they did that scan! Now they can pamper you and take care of your precious fighter. I cannot believe all the advances....wifi in hospitals....crazy, I thought it was cool just in Starbucks! You'll also get to watch a lot of CSI and Law & Order (my personal favorites!) Take care of yourself and your wonderful baby!

Hello All Lovely PG ladies....

Noodle
I just got mine and if you go to www.thejourneyforbaby.blogspot.com you will be able to see it and see what I think about it! I got the new graco one and I really like it. Take a look...they also have it in the single version. I am getting really excited and with every piece of equipment that I buy I get more and more excited! I love being able to prove DH worng! Especially with stuff like the furniture. Good Luck with that one.

Rikirees
I can't believe it! I just can't believe it. I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this. It was a good thing that they did a scan to see what was going on in there......8 weeks is a long time to be in the hospital...we will have to just cheer you on day by day. Are they monitoring you daily or replacing the fluid? How does it work? I have no clue about that. I am just so sorry that you have to go through with all of this agony to have your baby! It really shouldnt be this hard. You at least have a computer and a TV that is the good part. Stay connected!!!

Omg Rikirees I am so sorry that you have to go thru all of this. It is nice to see that you and lil one are fighters and 8 weeks will hopefully fly by. Will keep you and lil one in my prayers at night.

Tanya you are so prepared... I'm still have my superstitions about buying things but I did break and buy him a little hat and sock set that said I love mommy. I told DH there were these outfits in the Carter store DH actually thought that they were cute and he bought them... lol.

Jovi Nice to hear from you again and very glad to hear that all is going well with you and baby.

Noodle I am right there with you on proving DH wrong LOL.... We all know how men just love to be right about that stuff... and how fun it is to show them otherwise. hee he

Christine the room sounds like it is going to be so beautiful.I know how it pains you to have yet another sono.. lol I hope all is well and lil miss is posing cute for the camera.

Hello all!

I found this on Yahoo this morning and I thought you guys might find the info useful. It's a list of "must have" for when you pack your labour & delivery bag(s)! ;)

Cheers! :D

Sophie

Mommy’s essentials
These items must be in your bag, or you’re bound for trouble!

* Hospital or insurance card.
* 2 bras (breastfeeding bras, for those who intend to nurse).
* 6-8 pairs of underwear (you can leave the frillier ones at home—you’ll probably end up staining a lot of them).
* 2 or 3 night gowns or pyjamas that button at the front (great when nursing)
* A warm bathrobe.
* Comfortable slippers and sandals.
* Sanitary napkins (some are especially designed for new mothers).
* Toothbrush and toothpaste, soap, shampoo, hair brush, deodorant, contact lens case and solution (if needed) and hair dryer.
* Clothing to wear when you leave the hospital.

For mommy’s comfort
Don’t forget these items: they’ll make your stay at the hospital a lot easier and are bound to pick your mood up…

* A thermal water atomizer (Evian, Vichy, etc.) will be nice and refreshing during labour, since you won’t be able to drink.
* A few bottles of water, some fruit, and a few granola bars (for when you get the munchies after giving birth).
* A small pouch containing your favourite makeup items for when you leave the hospital.
* A good facial moisturizer and lip balm (childbirth will cause your body to be very dehydrated and your lips are bound to chap).
* A comfortable pillow.
* A bottle of non-greasy massage oil (for when your man offers himself to rub your back and feet).
* A breastfeeding cushion.
* A bottle of hand-sanitizer (such as Purell).

For mommy’s entertainment
Despite the frequent visits from friends and family, you’ll probably have several moments of quiet when you may feel the need to relax a bit.

* An mp3 or CD player (with your favourite CDs).
* A few easy reads (such as magazines, short novels, etc.).
* A camera (don’t forget batteries and some film or an extra memory card).
* A list of people you’ll want to call to tell the good news (and their numbers).
* A pen and notebook (so you can jot down any important info or tips from your doctor and nurses during your stay—it’s hard to remember everything).
* Make sure to have some small change on you (to use in vending machines, public phones, etc.)

Baby’s essentials
These are the last items on our list, but definitely not the least… Make sure you’re not missing anything for your beautiful newborn.

* 5 pyjamas (at least one that’s a little bit bigger than the others—hey, you never know!)
* 5 newborn bodysuits.
* Diapers (some hospitals provide them, but it’s quite rare).
* 1 pacifier.
* An outfit for the trip home (take the weather into account).
* A warm blanket.
* 4 bibs (to protect baby’s clothes).
* Socks.
* A cotton bonnet.
* 3 small towels (to put on your shoulder when burping your baby).
* Baby soap and shampoo or a bottle of baby wash.
* A pair of small mittens (to keep him or her from scratching her face).

With all the above-mentioned items in tow, you should be just about ready for the big day. Good luck!

Sophie
Thank you for the information on the bag packing thing...very handy!!! I was just thinking about packing my bags and wondering do I have everything. Very awesome!!! Thanks a ton. I hope that you are doing well. So good to see you stop in.

Steph
I totally understand about what you are saying about buying things. I think that it is so cute that your DH bought the outfits!! How wonderful. I am just trying to be prepared with the two of them coming. I feel like if I wait it will be too late and then they will be here and I wont want to go out of the house and so on..... :) Anyhow Glad to see you are doing well.

My babies have been squirming like crazy today and I think that they are learning Karate!!! I love it though and it is such a great feeling to know that they are well and moving about like that. Getting ready to be done with the pregnancy thing and hold the little buggers!!!! When it is time of course-not now!

Sophie - Just wanted to say thanks so much for the info!

I just wanted to add that on top of packing for ourselves and our little one's - the partners - DH's or whomever will be with us in the hospital need to pack a bag for themselves if they are going to stay with us at the hospital. And make sure they have snacks packed for themselves and some cash - I say this because my DH had to buy his food from the cafeteria while I was served pretty yummy food in my room. The mom's seemed to get pampered while the Dad's just had to fend for themselves. Our hospital has a room that has a refrigerator stocked with complimentary juices and milk and ice and some food like sandwiches and salads if you catch it at the right time. Also your partners should bring reading material or something else to occupy themselves especially if you have a long labor. I guess I love my DH enough to advocate for the Dad's comfort since they kinda stay on the sidelines for most of it:)

Have a good day ladies. I'll chat more later.

thanks Sofie---I kind of had an anxiety attack thinking about it...but great info...some hospitals really don't provide diapers??? crazy

Rikirees- How's it going??? Hospital treating you OK?

ChristineB- thanks for the DH info..I doubt mine will be staying still long enough to read or eat...he's more of a nervous nelly than I am!

TansRN- my boxer is a good match for your black belts....she keeps quite for about 8 hours a day..but the rest of the time she's doing flips or shadow boxing in there...I love it! thanks for the info on the stroller.

My2Lnt- DH has basically forbidden me buying anymore for the baby until after our shower...I just cannot help being a little obsessed...

Hi Ladies -

Been kinda quiet on our board this weekend. I hope everyone is doing well. I'm hoping to hear everyones updates soon!

As for me - getting ready for my checkup on Wednesday. So I have my Ultrasound, Glucose test and checkup back to back. A busy morning indeed. Our little wonder is being super active in my tummy and waking me up at different times of night. I guess she's preparing me for the many interrupted sleep nights ahead:)

Best wishes to all of you lovely ladies and your babies.
