Starting very 1st IVF in October...anyone else??!!

welcome nicole! it is great to have people to go through all of this with. as the dates of all of our retrievals and xfers near it will get even more important and fun. i just wanted to check in and let you all know i'm still out here...just in the waiting game. dh and i filled out the final paperwork on friday and are waiting to hear from the nurses as to when we are scheduled. my dr. told me i have to be on bcp for at least 2 wks before starting to stim. i took my 14th pill this morning, so i'm ready when they are, but i know they book up fast so i'm not feeling too confident that i will get in oct. at all, but we'll see.

I'm here too. I just got back from acupuncture and I had a nice nap. Anyway, I should know on Monday when stims will start. I am on a really agressive protocal this cylce. I will my doing the Lupron Flare with 450-follistem......anyone else out there gonna have ovaries the size of grapefruits?

I am with Dr. Salem in Pacific Reproductive in Torrance. I am still taking bcps and will have my hysteroscopy next thursday. Then what happens?

I think I start stims then if all goes as planned my retrieval will be set for 11/1! Dr. told me he is going to transfer two embryos. I got the two-plan option just in case.

I am really thinking of doing accupuncture before and after the retrieval.
are any of you?

I am so excited but nervous and scared as well!

I have been doing acupuncture so I will definetly be in before retrieval and transfer. I figured since this might be our last try that I would give it all I got. As far as your hysterscopy I am not sure since it has been over a yr since my last ivf and they did my hysteroscopy last month. They found some polyps and I got them removed. Anyway, your doc will probably decide when your stims will start and since you have an estimated retieval date it looks like you are moving right along.

Well I was really bombed over the weekend. Got a call from my nurse on Friday stating that they were cancelling my cycle because my blood levels were too low. Dr. didn't want to risk putting me under for ER. I was told that I had to get my numbers up before they could start my cycle so now I may not get to start until November since I am having AF right now.

I had my baseline sonogram today and was saddened to learn that I have an ovarian cyst that must go away before I can start the Lupron. So, I must continue BC for now, not start Lupron, and have another sonogram in 8 days.

gosh ladies, i'm so sorry to hear the bad news. this whole thing can be so frusterating and if full of ups and downs. i have not heard from my re yet as to when our dates will be and it is hard not to be anxious and angry, but i feel in my heart that it all happens for a reason and that your/my baby isn't ready yet and when he/she/they are born we will know exactly why it took so long and we had to wait so long. our perfect babies are out there waiting to be blessed with such loving parents and when the time is right it will happen. please try to stay hopeful and strong. try to keep busy and keep smiling...your day will come.

washingtonda and ladyb-sorry things are getting pushed back for you. You just never know when the right time is. I know it will be worth the wait though. Hang in there you will get your bfp.
I went to my re today and have "tentative" dates. I will continue on bcp for another 15 days the start stims on 10/18. The ER is on 10/29. Here we go. I am glad I found you all to share this with.

Greeting all.. this is actually the first time I am even posting to a message board... My husband and I have decided to give this a try, he has a very low sperm count due to cancer.. however the doctors have said there is still a good chance we can get pregnant. The only process we are starting with is the ICSI... I have begun my first treatment with Synarela (nose spray) today and while there are many folks who this didn't work for on the first go around, we are going to try and be hopeful that it will. Time isn't on our side... as I am 41 and he is 42.

Hopefully, I can stay in touch with this group for support and information on what is ahead!

welcome michelle. i don't think i have ever heard of synarlea, how does it work? am i understanding you right? (ivf with icsi?) i'm sending all positive vibes to you.

i too got my dates this morning...i start lupron on thursday and get to stop bcp on monday..yeah! on retrieval and xfer are scheduled for 10/25 & 10/28. history has shown that we go a day before our scheduled dates..in any case it seems like it's just around the corner. i am so excited, but this is always part of the up part of the fertility rollercoaster!

i am starting my first ivf this week w/ the bcp tomorrow and the actual er and et the first week of november. i am soooo nervous, excited, and anxious.

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. So far things are going pretty smooth for us, tomorrow I go in for my baseline since I started AF yesterday. Still on Lupron, probably starting stims Saturday...

I hope I can join in - even though I am joining a bit late! It seems like I may be a bit ahead of most people in this thread but we are all within a few weeks which is great!

I started my stims on Saturday and went in for my first scan this morning (day 7 of my cycle). I am right on track - I usually end up with 4 or 5 follicles on my day 7 scan and then 10-12 on my day 11/12 scan. So, today I had 6 which were all about the same size. I am very excited! I just found out last week that I have a high FSH (for my age - I am 35) so I am relieved to see that I am still producing eggs.
I go back on Saturday to see what the next count is.
Originally the plan was to do the ER then freeze all embryos and do a double transfer (2 transfers 2 days apart) in a natural cycle in January. After talking to my RE this morning that may change. If I end up with 10 or more eggs then we are going to do a double transfer this time around (in October) and if that doesn't work then we'll do the next transfer into a natural cycle (in January). I am so excited that I may not have to wait until January for my ET. Let's just hope I end up with 10 eggs!!!
How is everyone else going?
It looks like my ER date is going to be sometime late next week - maybe Oct 11 or 12 with my transfers 3 and 5 days later.
