another BFN - advice

Post by Candace »

I need some help! I just received another BFN. We have been through IVF/ICSI two times now. My DH and I are very healthy and young (both 30). We are going through IVF because of male factor (low morphology). Both times we transfered 4 blasto - all perfect quality.

Why are we having such trouble getting the blasto to stick? Does anyone have an advice for us - what else can we do??? Any advice/suggestions would be great.

Candace -
So sorry about your BPN. I am currently on my 3rd round in the 2ww waiting period due for my beta Friday. Have you been doing accupuncture along with your IVF treatments? If not, you should probably consider this - my doc recommended it. Also, you may want to adjust your diet and vitamins. I purchased a book on Fertility and Conception by Zita West that is incredibly informative in this regard, but honestly there is still only so much known about the implantation stage....there are several factors that could not have been successful and it truly is not your fault - they still describe it as a complex mystery...I did a google on it and found an interesting article about it suggesting that you should not blame yourself or your body since it's such a complex process and such a small # or percentage is successful at this stage....

Sorry not more answers, but hope you find this somewhat help and wishing you only the best and comfort/peace during this time!

Poor you Candace - it's so horribly disappointing, isn't it? But I absolutely think you should not worry - you've only been through three rounds, and there are more chances ahead of you. I doubt you're doing anything wrong (though I'm sure all of Rudy's suggestions are great). But time and chance happeneth to us all - it's a numbers game, remember, and you're number just didn't come up this round. Maybe it will next time - perhaps you should start focusing on optimum mental and physical health for your next cycle.

We have male-factor infertility too (although I'm 39, so that complicates things), and the doctor told us that was a good type of infertility to have - principally because ICSI exists as a solution. You're doing nothing wrong and you could still be pregnant very soon.

So my advice is to keep healthy and focus on your next cycle. Best of luck.
