Thanks! I guess everyone is different! You got tested three days later than I did from the date of your ET.... I get my first ultrasound next tuesday Oct. 9th, I am going to go insane waiting for that!

Do you think they will be able to tell then if there are multiples?

I really have no symptoms either so that makes me nervous, no sore boobs for me! Every once in a while I have some ever so slight crampy feeling down low but other than that , nothing. Maybe it's still too early...

I am so excited though!

BabyB, Congrats! I'm sure everything will work out fine! Did you have any updates lately?

Hi all: Sorry I haven't posted in a bit. Been very busy with work and frankly trying to keep myself occupied before the ultra sound on the 8th. I'm really going crazy. We've told ourselves we are having multiples because of the really high betas, but I'm driving myself crazy with anxiety. First, I know that while the betas can be suggestive of multiples, some have really high numbers with singletons and low numbers with multiples so I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high. Second, and much worse, I keep having these really horrible violent dreams about my babies. In one, I have an ectopic pregnancy and in another, somone literally cuts me open and takes my babies from me (sorry to be so graphic). These are HORRIBLE nightmares and I don't understand why I am having them. I get mad at myself for such bad thoughts.

I haven't had many symptoms. My boobs hurt and I feel bloated. My dizziness has gone away and no nausea yet (not that I'm hoping for it). I keep tellin my DH that I need to buy more HPTS to convince myself that I am in fact prego. He tells me "with a 745 beta on 9dp5dt, what the heck are you worried about?!" I can't help it ladies -- I am just terrified. Monday can't come soon enough. I just hope I'll see HBs (6 weeks may be a bit soon, although that is when I saw my DD's HB the first time). If not, I'll go crazy. Ok DH is beating up for thinking negatively right now. gotta run.

Good luck to all and keep me posted.

Meggs,

I think those sound like pretty good numbers..I'm still pretty confused as to what they can mean and I'm not sure what dp and dt mean --- dt I'm assuming means days post transfer?

I had my first test on the 26th which was 8 days after ET and it was 177 and on the 28th it was 478....

Oh well, I go in in less than a week to see the results of the first scan so maybe i can ask more questions when I go in.

Babyb,

Wow! That is terrible about your dreams you are having but kind of makes sense since your mind is probably always thinking of your babies. Try to turn your thinking around and picture yourself and dh holding your sweet little angels, I know easier said than done! It's so hard when we are used to getting bad news time and again but somehow we have to believe it will work out, you are in my thoughts and prayers and I think it's your time for everything to work out :D Someone mentioned about buying baby lotion, the smell of it subconsiouly puts good vibes in your head :D I bought a big bottle of Baby Magic and have been wearing it everyday! I'm surprised no one has said anything to me as to why I smell like a baby :D Take care and try not to fret too much :D

Hey Babyb! I was so worried about you. So sorry to hear about your nightmares, that must be terrifing. I am not getting much sleep, but I'm not having nightmares, I think I just have so much on my mind and not to mention my frequent trips to the restroom in the middle of the night!

Meggs: I agree with Babyb, my doctor said the beta numbers are a great indication of what your having, but not a 100%. I read posts on this message board that anything over 200 is most likely twins. SO, I was all excited and asked my doctor, and he said the beta numbers don't necessarily prove your having multiples. I was rally excited when my numbers came back at 556! But, my 2nd beta only came back 1169. And... I don't even know how far along I am and I don't get my ultrasound until the 17th!!! I'm going crazy!!

Can't wait to hear about your ultrasounds!!!

Meggs, I'm such a doufous! yes, that was two days later than what I tested if I'm looking at it right maybe you are having a singleton....

That just makes me think my chances of twins are even higher...it sounds like we both go in on the same day for our scans, Oct. 9th. I'll be looking to hear what your results were :)

Hi everyone!!!

Hope you don't mind if I join your group. Received a nice BFP this past Sunday 9/30 and am due on 6/7/08. :-)

It sure sounds like there are several of you with strong possibilities of having multiplies. Yay!

My betas from a 5dt have come in at 240 - 450 - 855.
Doctor is very happy with these numbers and assumes its a strong singleton. The nurses and my DH are betting on twins.

I just want a happy healthy baby snuggled up in my arms in eight months.

Wow, if I thought the 2ww was a long time to wait these next eight months are going to put that into perspective. LOL!

Hope everyone is doing well and feeling good.

No major symptoms here yet - bb's were swollen and sore last week but have lessened a bit since. No weight gain/loss or nausea.

Scan on Monday 10/8 -- hoping to see one little bean (maybe 2) and a HB, if we are lucky.

Thanks Meggs!

Just got 4th Beta results today: 1764. Sounds like its a singleton which i am just fine and happy about. :-) A stong happy healthy baby is all i want. No symptoms yet but i'm in no rush to have morning sickness. Also found out today that they were able to freeze 11 blasts so I'm having a great Saturday. Helps get me to Monday, just dying to see the u/s. :D

Anyone else having to maintain progesterone shots through week 11?
I also have to keep 2 estradiol patches on and change them every two days.

That's not the worst, DD also says no exercise and no intercourse until the end of the 1st trimester. I'm going to be chubby and cranky.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Well ladies, I am back from my US and it looks as though we have 2 healthy nuggets with strong HBs! I am so excited!!!!!

However, there is a strange sadness too which I didn't expect. As you guys know. we transferred 3 perfect blasts (hoping to get twins, but prepped for triplets). My beta on 9dp5dt was 745.6 -- I thought for certain this was indicative of triplets. BUT, it looks like one didn't survive. This makes me sad for the little one that didn't make it. You ask yourself "how is it that a perfect blast didn't make it?" Logically, I know that 1/2 of the eggs we produce are chromosomally abnormal (learned this from the last failed IVF). However, I guess I assumed that if they got to Blast stage, the abnormal ones would be weeded out.

I know that I will have a healthier pregnancy with twins and frankly, my DH and I feel that 3 at one time would have been pushing things. But I can't help feeling a little sad for the 3rd (I didn't expect this to be the case).

I feel so blessed with these 2 little ones on the way, am SOOOOO glad we saw 2 strong HBs. Moreover, with the 745.6 beta, my RE says this is indicative of a very strong pregnancy so all looks well. Now I just have to get over all the other hoops we girls have to jump over before taking a deep breath (3 month mark, amnio, getting to 32 plus weeks, etc.). It never stops does it? How is everyone else doing?

Hi Meggs,

You and I sound quite similar in beta no.s. My first beta was 64 - 10dp3dt and my second beta was 366 -14dp3dt. I too, have been told to stay on the pessaries for 10 weeks!

I was told by my RE that I am in a '25% bracket' and that as long as my beta does not fall I should be ok. I asked whether this meant I had a 1 in 4 chance of m/c and they confirmed that this was the case. I am trying not to worry but I am petrified something will go wrong. I have another blood test this Friday 10/12 to see how my beta is doing. I have no confirmation of an U/S. I feel a little in the dark. I come onto this site to get a sense of perspective because I feel I need to know more and the RE provide me with little info. I think my beta numbers are normal for a single embryo transfer, but any additional advice would be appreciated :)
