Starting very 1st IVF in October...anyone else??!!

We are all on the same schedule. I start my stims on sat to. I am on the antagonist protocol so I will be on menopur and bravelle to start with. Anyone else doing this protocol?

wow we are definetely on the same schedule for sure!! I went and had my baseline/blood yesterday and all is well. I start my gonal-f tomorrow (Friday) 300 units. I thought I would be starting it Saturday, but looks like tomorrow is the day. Still taking Lupron as well, just lowering the dose a bit. Things are going according to schedule so far...!

well got back from the dr and everything went very well!!!!my estrogen level was a 24!!!!so i start my gonal f tomorrow 75 in the morning and 150 at nigh along with lupron to 5 units!!!this is so exciting!!!how is everyone!!!

hello everyone, things are sure moving a long for you all! you are a bit ahead of me, so i'm hoping you all kick off the positives and we'll be bringing in a bunch of bundles in the hot, hot july! wondering if anie is using icsi? i should be starting follistim in am and menopure in pm next sat. 200 iu's each. hoping to get 10 follies this time, but not too confident.

Hi Y'all!

Looks like everyone is good around here! I start my gonal-f 300 units this evening with 5 units Lupron. My estradiol was <20, so I'm hoping that is good.
After all this I don't think none of us will be needle-phobic!!

Hi everybody-This is my first IVf cycle-a little nervous, a little scared. Started Lupron 09/22. My estrogen was too high to start my Follistim so my doctor increased my Lupron until Monday. Am worried this isn't a good sign. Any thoughts or words of encouragement needed.

Hey there,
This is my second round of ivf. My first was in aug and it was a BFN
It looks like I am the only one doing the antagonist protocol- bravelle and menopur. That's what I did last time to, only a stronger dose this time around. Shots went well today, I dont' seem to get any side effects so that is good. I get my next estradiol level checked on tuesday with followup ultrasound on thursday. Hope everyone is doing well

i too am on the antagonist protocol - this is my 4th attempt with that particular protocol (9th attempt is you count two cancelled cycles). The last three attempts with the antagonist were great - good results - but this time it doesn't seem to be the case.

i went in for my day 7 scan on Wed and they saw 6 follies which is good for me (usually by day 10 I am up to 10-12). Then I went in for my day10 scan and they still only saw the 6 follies - the only problem was that some had grown considerably and some not so much so now i am faced with 6 follies - 2 are ready to go, 1 is almost there and 3 are still very small. They made a comment about potentially cancelling this cycle which totally devastated me.

This was my last go with my eggs so if they cancel this cycle then i will be starting the egg donor process with a clinic overseas.

I go in again today to have another scan so we'll see how it goes.

tanya, i think with your 1st cycle it can be some trial and error, checking how your body responds to the meds. don't worry that this is a bad sign, what to see what happens tomorrow before you get too worried. there is still plenty of time for things to turn around. the lupron is used to "shut down" your ovaries so that they won't produce any follies until they stimulate you with the follistim...how you respond to this med is more important (that is my understanding). let us know what happens.

nicole & kelly, what is the antagonist protocol? my dr. has never used a term like that. my protocol is 10 units of lupron the entire time, starting follistim (200 iu's in am) and menopure (200 iu's in pm) around day 10. i usually stim for 9-10 days. i'm not sure how different that is from what you both do.

kelly, let us know how your u/s goes today. i'm hoping things work out and that you get that one good egg. it can happen.

Things are looking a bit better today. I confirmed that they will go ahead with this cycle which is a huge relief.
I have 7 follicles today and they are all growing - one will definitely be overly mature by ER but hopefully if they give me a day or two some of the smaller ones will pop up. It looks like I may end up with 4-5 eggs which is fine with me because we'll be using all of them in the double transfer. At least i can proceed which was my main worry.

The antagonist protocol is when they let your cycle proceed with no suppressant for part of the stim period. So for me I start stims on day 3 and on day 7 I start taking an antagon (which is a stronger version of lupron) each day until the trigger shot. I think it is for people who don't respond as well because there is less suppression of the cycle beforehand.

I'll let everyone know how tomorrow's scan goes. It looks like I'll be having ER on Wednesday or Thursday of this week.

Hi ladies,
Just checking in. It looks like everyone is underway. I go see my RE on 10/15, then start microdose lupron on the 10/18, then follistem 450 on 10/20. So I will be catching up soon. I can't wait to get started.

kellym-glad to see you are gonna proceed with the cycle.....grow follies grow!

Hi everyone! Well, after my 4th IUI came back a bust, I'm scheduling a meeting with my RE to discuss IVF options. So I'm guessing I'll be doing the meds/procedure in November/December. Enexplained infertility- no problems with me or DH.
