Hi Michelle,

Sounds like we are on the same schedule, I as well went for my U/S today. Not good news for me as well, I have onley have 3 follies at about 12 to 14 size and one follie possible at 10. I have another U/S on Sat. to see if we continue. Trying to stay positive but I have to say I am disapointed today. I am waiting on BW results this afternoons too. We will pray together. My lining they say is perfect as well, they say they want at least 4 to proceed, I was hoping for more but at this point I am just wanting this to work out. I guess it only takes one and miracles happen everyday. So I guess the good news in this is teh ones that I have produced are all about the same size execpt for the smaller one we are hoping it catches up buy Sat.

Good luck to you as well.

Kim & Michele,
I'm so sorry you didn't receive better news. Try not to give up and stress out just yet. You never know what will happen. Until they tell you the cycle is canceled, you have hope. There are lots of women who only have a few follicles and then go on to get pregnant. It only takes one egg and one sperm. I know at my clinic they only need 2 follicles to be 18mm to continue. I'm praying for you both and hope you get better news this afternoon.

HI Kim,

I'm so sorry you are having these same results.

You're right, we shouldn't get to disapointed I was just hopeing for more. My RE has not said anything about cancelling the nurse explained to me that it was just a matter of if we wait and see if the other three follies catch up which means the one at 18 1/2 may be overdone or if we take the one and just hope for the best for the other three. She said they like them to be at atleast 14 or we risk them being immature. I should find out in a few hours what the protocal will be. :(

Let's stay positive together, we only need one!

Christie- Thank you so much for the words of hope. It really helps to know you ladies are here.

Kim and Michele,

Christie is absolutely right, you still have a little time and those follies could take off. Keep the hope that will happen and if not hopefully they won't cancel your cycle and they will still get eggs out of the mature ones. I wonder what number they have to be at for them to be "overdone"....?? I think I had a few over 20 plus they had to give me at least two extra days on meds for them to get as many as they needed. There's definately still hope. I'm praying for you guys!

Christie, Yes! I was so nervous because I got a cold and have been coughing like crazy and I could only think it must be like an earthquake in there for my little embies!! So I called to see if I could take anything. I wasn't even taking cough drops I was so paranoid!! She gave me a list of what to take and said coughing shouldn't do anything. She probably thought I was nuts! Anyway, Tuesday is my scan and the girl did say they should be able to tell how many there are..which amazes me because I will only be about 5 weeks and 5 days at that point. my dh is not coming with me so I'm kind of bummed, I think I"m going to ask my mom to come along. She said most likely we won't see the heartbeat yet but on a rare occation they do see it this early.

Take care girls! I'm waiting to and hoping to see more BFP's! I'm blowing baby dust your way! Hang in there :)

Well the dreaded phone call came. As expected my estradol level is high. My RE recommends cancelling this for IVF maybe doing another IUI and trying a little different medication for next round of IVF. I am dissapointed was really hopeing. I'm struggling with this one after 6 previous rounds of IUI all BFN's with insurance that does not cover any of the IVF or IUI procedure's is it a waste to spend more money on IUI? Should I save what I have and shoot for the next IVF cycle?

Thanks for all your support. I'm praying eveyone gets their BFP's !!!!

help- iam rejecting my hubby's sperms

Post by want2bmom »

hi ladies!
this has been a great thread, especially for a newcomer like me. well girls, sorry, but i hope u don't mind that i had been lurking around and going trough the trials and tribulations of all u girls out here. well i laughed with u and i cried with u! and most importantly, i learned about the PMA right here.
well! to introduce myself:
ME:nisha, 35, DH:49,
TTC:9 years; PCOS and hypothyroidism also male factor.
innumerable IUI's. then 2 IVFs:BFN
last IVF:BFP, but m/c at 5 weeks.
just returned from the RE today and well he did have some news, but dont know whether good or bad. i really would appreciate some help, i am really confused :?
well it seems my RE has a new set of theories regarding why my text-book perfect embies are not being able to bring on that BFP! Question
he thinks that most probably my body is producing some anti-bodies which are rejecting the antibodies carried by my DH's sperms. Shocked can u believe this. my poor dear is still in a state of shock. well RE is stating this to be a +ve finding and thinks there is a way to treat it and so if this is really the case (which he shall be sure by 1st of NOV., ) then it won't be long to fulfil my longings for holding a cute baby in my arms. well i am keeping up my PMA, but it sure would help if i knew more about it in layman's terms. i have tried the web as i do for every question i come across, but no help this time.
PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP
to add to my woe, he has asked me to be on BCP as well as use condoms, so that i don't have my DH's sperms in me till he gives the greenn signal, and here i was hoping to try for a natural pregnancy with the help of an over-enthusiastic acupuncturist. we are now supposed to wait for AF to show in November 1st week after which my RE's going to show the way!
sorry for the extremely long post and that too, for a first timer.

Oh Michele,
I'm so sorry. That is horrible news. I was hoping there was still more time for you. Well, I don't know what to tell you about the IUI. You and your dh will have to decide. If you really don't think it will work, then maybe you should wait and do IVF again. That is an extremely tough decision to make. I'd talk to the doctor and ask them what the chance of IUI working is.

Nisha,
I hope that your dr. is able to figure it all out and that it will work next time. I've heard about antibodies before, so it's not that uncommon. I don't know enough about it to be able to explain anything to you. You could ask the dr. or nurse to explain it to you, so you understand. That's what they are there for. I'm crossing my fingers for you.

After speaking with the nurse again and my dear DH we have decided to do a trigger shot tonight and haved timed intercourse instead of spending the nearly $400 it would cost to have another failed IUI since I only have one follie that is mature enough to fertilize and our odd's would be considerable low for IUI to be successfull! Who knows maybe we'll get lucky and it will happen by itself. LOL Miracles can happen I suppose.

My next protocal will include Lupron Micro-dose (sp?) instead of the standard Lupron they are thinking this will help but there are no guarantees.

Hoping for BFP's for everyone cycling. Who's testing next???

Good Luck to everyone!!!

Michele,
I think you both made the right decision. You never know. I've heard of many women who get pregnant naturally that were trying for years, with IUIs and IVFs. One of my good friends is one of them. My mom's friend is another. I'm crossing my fingers that you won't even have to do IVF.

Michelle - Hang in there. My heart goes out to you and DH. I know the disappointment. I bet there is a bigger and better plan for you!!!

Kim - Keep your hopes up! Did they give you anything to get you where you need to be in size? Is there anything you can eat?? (I know, sounds so last resort..ish). My belief is when all else fails - eat!!!

Hoping for BFP's and plenty of baby dust to all (both near and further than expected futures)!!!!

Welcome Nisha - have you messaged Archana at all?? She is from India too!!!

Hi Mums to be!

** WARNING ** IT'S A LONG ONE

I didn't check forum yesterday as I was out the whole day....

Michelle...I am so sorry to hear about your cancelled cycle....what a bummer, I so think you have made the right decision, as you say your IUI chances are quite low with one mature follie, the HCG trigger shot does cause a final bit of growth, so maybe one or two of the others will have grown too to increase your chances....so heres to lots of passion in the forthcoming hours   I really wish you all the best....keep up the PMA youre doing it how nature intended and you never know...it just takes one!!!! Got everything crossed for both you and DH...BIG (((((((hugs)))))))

Kim...I hope you get the news you are looking for...I can understand the disappointment...you wait so long for your cycle to start and then you just want everything to go smoothly...don't give up...it's not over since it's over....Michelle has turned it into an opportunity which is inspiration...my other source of inspiration is Keddie..(hope you don't mind keddie)...whenever i'm down i think of her and think sometimes what is meant to be will be...with four eggs and all fertilising!!...and then a BFP!....well it's not all about the numbers...it only takes one! Sending you lots of PMA...have you tried Accupuncture?

Keddie...congrats...so exciting your first scan is coming up....how many are you hoping for? :D I can't wait to hear how you get on...nice of you to hang on and still be offering the rest of us PMA and support!

Christie...how are you coping....well only one week left to go....have these just been the slowest days or what!!

Donna...How are you...I read earlier that you tried a HPT...please resist any further tests...it definately is far too early...it can take up to 10 days sometimes for the embryo to implant, and then few more days for HCG levels to rise...so think pregnant but don't test until it is time....sending you lots of PMA!!

Carolingirl....hope you are well...hope 2ww will fly by for you! Keep up the PMA and my accupuncturist reccomends positive visualisation!

Nisha...welcome! You've had quite a ride already, it's very reassuring that your doctor has a reason in mind why embies are not staying...I have heard of antibodies but can't explain in too much detail but breifly we all have antigens little proteins around each cell which our body recognises, so baby's cells will also have these antigens, if your body does not recognise these antigens your immune system will produce antibodies to protect itself from a "foreign" body...i know shocking...your body sees it as a foreign body!! So treatment may involve trying to ensure your immune system will not reject your little embie. I hope that helps a little...maybe I have confised you more  the immune system is very complicated!

Donnell...how are you...did you stop taking the shots? Hope all is well.

Love..how are you..haven't heard from you in a while?

To all other ladies..hello and lots of sticky baby dust!

Me.....Well i'm trying to stay positive positive positive....i don't always feel like it...but hope is all i have! Only 5 days to go!

Lots of best wishes
