Felicia - Congratulations on your BFP. Its really encouraging to hear of iui working. So many of the ivf ladies have tried it first without success that its a bit disheartening sometimes.

Jane - Sorry you're feeling so crap. Hopefully it'll ease off soon. In the mean time just try to take it easy.

I went to see the occupational health nurse at work yesterday. Work's so stressful and I've not been coping with it too well (hormones all over the place). I hate to take time off sick but am thinking that I need a break from work to give myself the best chance of this working and there's no chance of getting a long holiday. She was really good and agreed that I should take time off 'sick'. So I think I'm going to sign off for next week then see if my GP will sign me off for 2ww to give this cycle a really good chance.
I feel bad about work but sometimes you have to look after yourself, don't you.

Dont feel bad! ive been crazy at work too! (Made the new girl cry on her 3rd day). They probably wish I would be out sick!! Unfortunately not an option for me, but if it were I would definitely take it!! Youre right, take care of you for right now, especially if they are willing to let you have the time off!!

Hello ladies! Well, we are not taking chlomid, but rather went straight to injections. Chlomid didn't do much fo rme in the past. However, the injections sure do work.

I just had my first true scan today and things are starting to move along. My problem is that I just have so many follicles that we have to be so careful that we don't stimulate too many. I think the docs would much rather me do IVF so that they are not so worried as they are giving me these injections and having so many follicles growing. They just upped our cc's today, so Monday's scan should be interesting. :D

I never thought about the 2 insems. Last IUI (the first one) was done on a Sunday (and Mkdig, it was about 40 hours after the Ovidrel) and I had to leave on a business trip that afternoon - which was lousy. I plan on being at home this time and hopefully my husband and I can naturally increase our chances of a BFP.

The drugs don't seem to effect me much, so I guess I am lucky. No real side effects!

Take care everyone!

Hi Felicia,
Good to hear from you and see that all is going well. Do you want to know the sex of the baby? I don't, DH isn't sure so we'll see.

Hi Squeezan,
You do need to put yourself first so don't feel bad about taking time out.

Hi Tina0,
Good to hear that the drugs aren't having too bad an effect. Good luck on Monday.

Hi Mkdig,
Good luck to you too this week.

Take care ladies,
Jane

Hi Jane!

I can not wait to find out! At first (like 4 yrs ago!) we thought it would be fun to be surprised but after everything we went through I just need to know so we can be prepared and just enjoy the baby when it comes! We are also about to put a huge addition on our house so there's alot going on around here! My doctor says it our "nesting" extinct!

I'm so excited!! Congrats again.

Just rang my GP for an appointment and they've got nothing for 2 weeks! unless its an emergency. So much for time off to relax, this nearly had me in tears. I was hoping to get signed off for the rest of this cycle now I don't know what to do. Do you think the doc at the clinic would sign me off? I never see the doc, just the nurses. Might ask when I go tomorrow.

Hi Ladies
How's everyone doing?

Tina how did the scan go? What injections are you having? I'm on Menopur (think you may call it Repronex?) 150iu on alternate days. Haven't felt as nauseous this time but still pretty irritable.

mkdig - Good luck with the scan on Thurs

I had a scan this morning (cd10) and have 6 follies - 3 each side, all about 8 - 9mm. Not sure what to make of that. Last month I only had 1 or 2 but they were quite a bit bigger by this stage. Hope they don't all mature! but 2 or 3 would be good to increase my chances.

Hello! Well, looks like our IUI will be Sunday morning! I am scared this time as we had A LOT of follies! The largest one is 19, then there is a 16, 15, 14, a couple of 13's, 12's, 11's, 10's, 9's...and so on. If there is one things I know how to produce it is follicles! The doctor thinks most likely the 19 and 16 will ovulate, but not sure about the 15 and 14. I just took my shot of Ovidrel at 5:30 p.m. tonight and we are having the IUI at 9:15 Sun morning....so almost 40 hours in between. I wonder what is truly ideal? The doc think my lining looks great this time, so who knows. Maybe it will work this time! One nurse today told us she didn't think the doctor would give the ok with that many follicles so close in size. I immediately grabbed the kleenex and prepared for a good cry. :D But then, the other nurse walked in and said that the doctor thinks we are fine to proceed.

Last night my old college roommate calls and proceeds to tell me she is 9 weeks pregnant!! They just got married in July and started trying in Aug!!! DH & I got into an argument about it because he doesn't see why it hurt me to hear that!! The sad thing is that I don't think she felt bad telling me or even thought it might be difficult for me to hear. She just busts out with it and then proceeds to tell me all of her symptoms, what she has been feeling, etc. I don't know - it was just too much for me yesterday. How pathetic I am! I think if you have not gone through all this infertility stuff, you just don't know how hard it is!!! Oh well, I am happy for her. I just wish it would happen so easily for me.

And the drugs are starting to make me crazy!! I am not typically such a baby, but geez - I am EMOTIONAL now. Ugghhhh.

Su - I have been taking 225 of Menopur and then switched to the Follistem pen. It is much better - you can jusy dial out the dose instead of those darn vials! Have you heard of it? My follicles grew pretty quickly this time, but last time we were only taking between 75-125 of the Menopur and we tried chlomid first. This time we skipped the chlomid and went straight to the injections on like day 3 and have stayed at the 225 level.

MkDig - so, did you have your IUI? When is your 2 ww period up?

Jane - how are you feeling? Give us some updates! I hope you are feeling better.

I am thinking about you all and wishing you good thoughts!!!

Tina - You just about summed up how I feel too. It's just not fair that it comes so easily to some people and those meds make us so emotional.
I'm a lttle behind you with treatment now. I've had exactly the same meds this time but a totally different response. I too have made loads of follies - yesterday I had about 8 (I think) all between 8 - 12mm. At this stage last month I just had one of 17mm. I'm also worried they might cancel if they all continue to grow but I do have a history of shrinking follies so who knows what could happen by Monday's scan. At first I was really worried about the thought of having iui with more than 1 follie but after 4 failures with only 1 or 2 I'd like to take my chance with more. Like you said I sure know how to make follies (in the early stages anyway) I just have a problem getting them to mature.
Good luck for Sunday!

I never did get a GP appointment so will be back at work Monday :( Was hoping to have had iui before then but looks like that won't happen. I'm determined to try to take it easy tho' and not let them stress me out. If it gets too bad I'll go off sick again. Might try to talk to boss about it but not sure what to say as I don't really want them to know what I'm doing.

mkdig - Where are you? Hope you're ok. It's been really quiet on here this week.

Hey everyone! I am now in the 2ww!! I had my iui yesterday but i am a little dissapointed this time. I had one follicle that was a 21mm and lots more but they were a little smaller this time (like 15 or 17). I know it only takes one but with the two negatives in the past with more and more mature follicles I want to have a ton each time, you know?
Also nervous because this time the doc. saw what she thinks might be a polyp on my uterus and she said if there is no preg. this time we should do some more tests and remove the polyp if thats what it is before we try again. I guess I could still get preg. if it is a polyp but it can affect implantation so chances arent as good. This stuff is soooo crazy!!

Squeezan- I hope those follies get bigger. I know what you mean about your body responding so differently to the same meds. its frustrating!! I am keeping you in my thoughts. Try to take it easy at work!!

TinaO-Looks like we are 2ww buddies!! Good Luck on Sunday. My best friend is preg. right now and its so frustrating, im happy for her but it seems like sometimes a little sensitivity from them would be nice (like i dont feel sorry for you if you have morning sickness...We would all kill for morning sickness!!) Hoping we have really close due dates!!!!!!!

Hi ladies,

Keeping everything crossed for your two week waits :D

Thanks for asking about me (mkdig, hope this doesn't sound too insensitive) but this MS is not pleasant :) I haven't been able to open the fridge door without puking for the last two weeks and I have the nose of a bloodhound. DH can't make coffee and I have to leave when he is cooking. I so hope that all you guys will find out what it's like soon :D Hopefully I'll have cracked it too and will be able to give you lots of advice :D

Have a good weekend,

Jane

Hello! Well, I have to laugh because my college roommate leaves me a voice mail stating that she has her Halloween costume all picked out (we do this big Halloween party every year and always have a huge turnout). Anyway, I cringe and think "Please don't let it be a pregnant woman or anything like that"....esp if my 2 ww period ends with another BFN!! Bless her heart - she is one of those women that just doesn't think sometimes and yet she means no harm. I just don't think anyone can know how hard this is, you know? And I don't want to be one of those women who lets this all get to me! UUGGGHHH! :( Anyway, I am feeling better today and much more positive. Just gotta hang in there and realize that everything is good and this will work itself out one way or the other. Oh yeah, and I have this neighbor with 2 little girls and every time I see her she starts rubbing her hands together and asks, "How are you?? How is the baby making going"?!?! I am thinking like, "Shut up - don't you have a flippin clue that we are clearly having a hard time with it???" Geez..... :) It is all pretty funny I guess, but sometimes it is frustrating!

Sue - hang in there! I bet everything turns out good on this one for you!
And if you do have to continue working, then just remember that work is work and it is not the most important thing. I used to be way too serious with my career and finally left my job after 10 years to go to work for another company to try to make this pregnancy thing work. I now realize that my job was certainly not as important as I made it out to be, you know?

MkDig - did your doctor think the 15 or 17 would not ovulate? My doctor said they can ovulate as small as that. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

Jane - your stories crack me up. It is amazing how your senses get so strong when you are pregnant!!! Now, how far along are you? We are really happy for you! :D

Well I've just had my trigger shot and go in for iui 3pm tomorrow. So I'll be joining you at last in 2ww. Just got 1 follie now, all the others fizzled out. Would have liked more but, as they say, it only takes one. Hope its 5th time lucky! :D

Hope everyone's ok
