I did my first IVF Cycle in July with a BFN. I went for my follow up consultation and my Dr said I had a perfect Cycle. I am 39 and I produced 7 follicles with 6 mature eggs retrieved. 4 Fertilised and I replaced 2 grade B Embryos. Unfortunately I didnt have any frosties due to too much fragmentation. I have decided to go for a 2nd run and my consultant has said that I will be on the same medication again as things went really well. Whats the chances of it working the 2nd time without changing anything. I used ICSI due to DH low motility. I have a bit of a challenge of a FSH of 10. Any help or advice.
arg, is your dr. doing assisted hatching? when my 1st ivf (this time around) failed, my dr. suggested and we agreed to do assisted hatching. it is believed to help eggs attach themselves to the uterus. might be worth asking about. don't get too discouraged though, many people get bfp after failed ivf's...i'm sure hoping to.
You have a 50/50 chance or less with each IVF cycle. It sounds like things went smoothly so I would just chalk it up to chance at this point. My first IVF ended in a chemical pregnancy. 2nd IVF BFP. Subsequent frozen embryo transfer BFN. 3rd IVF BFP. So as you can see I fell into those 50/50 odds exactly. We are the same age and also had to use ICSI because of sperm quality. Good luck with your next cycle!
