I had a 5dfet on 9/26/07 and went for my beta today and level was 35.9.
Nurse said that level was very low but could be because it was a frozen transfer. Anyone have any experience with this. I go back in 2 days to see if it doubles. Any help would be great because everything I read on line says it will more than likely be a miscarriage.
HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gosh, do I know how you feel! At 12dp5dt, my BETA was only 50. It did double, but I am spotting. The IVF nurse stated with HCG levels this low, we have a 50/50 chance. She did say she has seen HCG levels low like ours, however, and have resulted in a baby 9 months later. So, there is always hope...the biggest thing is waiting the 48 hours, to ensure they double. Good luck, and try not to go crazy. I am also on the crazy train, and it just doesn't help you at all....
Good luck!
Hi! First of all congratulations on your BFP! I think you took your first pregnancy test quite early only 5 days post transfer! Usually DRs start testig HCG levels around 9 days post transfer! As long as this number doubles, you have a great chance! What matters is the doubling rate and not where the numbers start. Personally I have a lot of experience with lower than usual HCG levels, but in my case with 1st IVF and the FET cycles HCG level didnt double as it should have, but on my 2nd IVF cycle I started off with low HCG 10DP5DT being 72, which only went up to 115 in two days, but afterwards started doubling, and I am now expecting my little miracle boy in early December!
Have faith and good luck to you!!!!
Thanks for the information but I think that I typed it wrong. my first Beta was 12dp5dt and my level was only 35.9 I go tomorrow to find out my levels and will post them then. Thanks

Brenda- I am in the same boat. I got my first beta at 9dp5dt and it was 29.7. 11dp5dt it was 56. I find out today what the third is, hopefully more than doubled. My RE says that actually betas double every 60-72 hours not 48 like they say. Everyone is different and progress differently. I also started spotting brown at 7dp5dt, then bright red at 11dp5dt for two days, now I have nothing. So the best thing to do is just relax, my RE says that 80% of their patients complain of bright red spotting. Good Luck!
Brenda and Lindsay- keep the faith! As long as the number are doubling or close to doubling you have a great chance!
Brenda- your numbers are close to what I had with my last succesful IVF cycle! It could be that more than one fertilized eggs implanted but one of them is not making it, and its causing slight stalling of HCG number growth. Small bleeding episodes in the 1st trimester are very common too...
Went back today for 4th Beta and numbers dropped from 232 to 189 RE sd stop all meds and wait for cycle to start. Just another large disappointment in the game of IVF
I am so sorry to hear your loss. No words can help but don't give up on your dream of being a mom. Have faith and it will happen one day. In the meantime you and dh are in my thoughts and prayers.
Take care,
