Starting very 1st IVF in October...anyone else??!!

Hi there
I am also on my first IVF cycle (with ICSI). We have unexplained infertility and have been TTC for 10 years, took some breaks in there and have been on adoption wait list for 2 years. Got sick of waiting there so thought we would give this a try.
Some of the medications you all are using sound different than mine, I wonder if it is because I am in Canada.
I have been on Synarel and then started injections on Saturday, 75 iu Repronex and 225 iu Bravelle.
Other than a few headaches and a couple of hot flashes, I haven't expereinced too many side effects. Whew.

Well, after my near breakdown on Saturday I am feeling much better. I went in for a few more u/s over the weekend and then again today for my final one. The RE said that it looks like I'll have 6-7 eggs so we'll see how many fertilize. I am feeling so much better about it now! Even if we end up with 4 I'll be happy!
So, I trigger tonight and will have my ER on Thursday with ET on Sunday and Tuesday. It is going to be a busy week!

Beaner, I too am in Canada - where are you? I was on repronex (75) and puregon (300) - I think there are so many brands of the same type of drug.

Hi! new to the board. Have just finished meds and will do trigger tonite. Egg retrieval scheduled for Thursday 10/11 and transfer on 10/13. Am very exicted and nervous, since this is my first try. Anyone that would like to chat, it would be greatly appreciated.

We are on the same schedule with ER. It sounds like you are having a 2 day transfer. I am going a 3 day transfer and then another 3 day transfer (from frozen embies) two days after that. It is a strange protocol but after 9 attempts they are starting to try the less known protocols!
Glad that I found someone to go through the 2ww with - it is the hardest part! But at least we'll have each other to commiserate with.

Hello all!
Thanks for all the positive energy! Had ER yesterday. Went well. They retrieved 11 eggs, only used 8 but 7 fertilized. wooh hooh!!!!! Go in tomorrow for transfer! Hopefully a little baby will be in my future!
Kellym-I was thinking of you yesterday and I pray everything works out for you.

hello ladies. it looks like everyone is moving right along. baby08 good luck with et, my fingers are crossed for you. fhl, i can't remember how many follies you have...let's hope there are a few really good ones! kelly, how are things going? melinda, any new news?

i had my u/s & e2 on friday. they found a blood cyst on my rt. ovary (my good one

), but thought that it should disapate by itself and we are going forward. i started stimming this morning. they increased my folllistim in am from 150 to 200 and in evening from 0 to 50 along with 150 of menopure. so 4 shots a day for awhile. i still have to talk myself into each one. i'm hoping we don't stim too fast and end up with bad results, a little afraid of that, but we'll see. next u/s on friday with e2 on wed. so i guess we'll know more then. hope all is well with everyone...we're almost to the dreaded 2ww, but here's to hoping a bunch of bfp's!

Hello everyone!
So excited I found this forum! What a great sisterhood we have here! I will be starting my Lupron injections Oct. 28th...anyone else starting around the same time?

DH and I have been trying for two and half years. Clomid did very little for me, other than regulate my cycles...which is a good thing! I had high prolactin levels, and needed to have an MRI to check out my pituitary - those tests came back just fine. My Dr. has me on a low dose of med to keep those numbers under 18. My thyroid numbers were slightly elevated too, so I've been on a low dose of Synthroid to keep those numbers between 1 and 2. It's just amazing to me how many pieces to the puzzle have to line up just right in order to get pregnant! But, I know we'll get there!

We've decided to share our IVF process with my parents & my brother and sister in law - they had trouble conceiving as well. Dh's family lives a few hours away, and we've decided to not share this info with them. His mother has a difficult time understanding my allergies & asthma (she has cats & I'm allergic). So I can just imagine she'd have a difficult time digesting OUR infertility. I should mention too that she is a very agressive, in your face, manipulative, 'guilt-trippy' person. My husband has finally starting standing up to her, and I haven't allowed her to manipulate me for a few years now. Long story short, we're not sharing our IVF process with her. Anyone else in the same shoes???

hey just letting eveyone know what is going on with me i went to the dr on sat!!looks like we will be doing egg retrieveal on tues the 16!!!i have to do the hcg shot @10pm tonight pretty nevous about that!!!it looks like eveyone is right on track with eveything they said they see about 10-12 follies in there !! my dr said my right side is a little more advanced then the left but he still thought everything was looking very good!!!just to let eveyone know i have very good vibes we all on our way to get BFP!!!!!!!im so excited!!!!lots of baby dust to everyone!!!
