Tanya - LOL about your DH's driving!! Sounds a lot like my hubby! Sophie and Riley are gorgeous names! I hope you are having fun buying pink...(and new blue things too!)

To answer your question, the counsellor asked me to write down a negative thought, and then think about whether it was really true. It seemed to work very well. This week's job is harder - I'm working on some anger issues, particularly with DH's family. I've written about 8 pages (took me 3 hours) of garbage that I have had to put up with from my IL for the past 19 years. However, the next step is to sit down and analyse it, and see it from the other point of view. Honestly haven't had a chance to do this yet...(it was exhausting just writing it all out...)

Kery - LOL with your Mum's comment about pink. Oh well, real men (and boys) can wear pink! Agree with you on the amount of testing - hope it gives you some answers.

Hey Donna - how are things with you??

Having a great long weekend here - all thanks to the APEC summit. Spent yesterday doing mundane things like cleaning, washing and shopping - but it was good to get it out of the way. Today I went out with DH to get him prepared for an interview next week with new suit, new shoes etc. Tomorrow I'm off to help my best friend with her son's birthday party - should be a full on day...

Wait a minute are we all married to the same man? We had a few "incidents" regarding hubbys driving on vacation too. Sorry I have been MIA - was on vacation then got extremely busy.

Tanya, how awesome you have the best of both worlds in your belly a boy and a girl! That's awesome. I bet its scary, sureal and all of those things...enjoy!

Hope things are going well for you too. I am also sorry about the job, that must be disappointing! Keep us posted re: hubby's interview (for a job too?).

Things are going well here, just called the dr. this morning re: the embryo donation and the frozen embryo transfer. We decided to move ahead and the feelings of fear (of the unknown I guess) are cropping up. What if it doesn't work, what if it does ...I guess one day at a time. Finally got insurance mostly straightened out. It was such a huge problem we would have gotten billed over 13 thousand dollars had they not finally corrected it. (13 thousand was the money for medication alone, which I still have a lot left over and unfortunately can't return) I nearly had a breakdown over this situation that had been unresolved for months! Finally before vacation we had a break through.

Well anyway just wanted to check in, hope everyone is doing well!!

Hi Girls

Donna I'm glad that you got your insurance sorted out. When do you think you will start. I know it all costs so much. We have now spent all our savings that was going to be our deposit on a house.

I have finshed my assessment cycle and the Hicosy op went fine. I am now just waiting for af to turn up then I start on injections. The insemination should be about the second weekend of October.

How is everyone it's been very quiet around here!!

How far along are you now? Yea isn't it funny when they start moving around. Its really weird towards the end when you can see little feet poking out at you!!

I start meds tomorrow and insemination is in about 14 days. Yep feeling a bit nervous but I'm trying not to think about it too much. I have set myself up too many times to be disappointed.

Yes, DH was going for a job in a government department. Surprisingly, he still hasn’t heard back from them yet. However he was in desperate need of a suit so I’m happy he got it.

Thinking of your little ones – it must be so special!

As for me: this has been a very LONG term, full of politics. I am so emotionally drained.

Then, as an added bonus, we got notice from the real estate agent that our landlord wants to move back into this house in December. This is smack bang in the middle of when we wanted to start IVF/IUI again. I’m still in shock.

However DH and I have decided not to think about it until after the holidays we have organised. We’ve spent the long weekend together. Next Tuesday and Wednesday I’m escaping for 24 hours with a friend of mine and her son to a resort hotel in a coastal town. We’ve been promising to do this for years, and as DH has an essay to write its an opportune time.

Then DH and I will be going to his mother’s place in the country for 3 days. It will be the first time we will have seen her since SFIL’s funeral. I’m hoping that we will be able to sort out some of the tension from that time and earlier, but it is really her call. She will be suffering from grief as well as stress over the will. I’m not going to try to force resolution if she’s not ready to do so.

When we come back I’m taking my mum to the theatre. Then DH goes back to work the following week. I was going to go to my Nan’s, but with this notice to move, I think I will take the time to start looking for places. I’ll see what mood I’m in when we get back.

As I said, I’ll try to come here at least every week. I’m thinking of you all, even if I don’t write.

Oh Gargy please don't aplogize for not being on the message board as often as you'd like. As a matter of fact you are very consistent (unlike myself). But we all know how life can keep us busy sometime. Sorry to hear about having to move. Wow could you imagine next year Hubby having a new job, a baby on the way and a new home? Hey ya never know!!!

Kery, Have you any updates regarding the stimulation? Any ideas on the response you are having re: number of follicles? Next week right?? Saying prayers for you.

As far as myself I am in the 2 week wait now. We had the frozen embryo transfer on Thursday. Of 7 embryos three were optimal, so we transfered all three. Not trying to think about it too much but I am sure as it draws closer to the test it'll be on my mind. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. It seems we are getting to a jumping off place soon as there will not be much more we can do beyond this, short of adoption.

I have everything crossed for you Donna!!! I took my trigger last night and go in for the iui on Wednesday morning. I have one leading folly two that are a bit smaller and nine little ones. I am just thinking GOD THIS BETTER WORK!!! I don't know if I can keep doing all this if it doesn't work.

Sorry I have never heard of a double insemination I am new to the whole iui thing I have only done ivf cycles. Did you clinic say that was what they were going to do? I noticed that your dh has azoospermia (as does mine) will you be using a donor?

Thanks for the reply!! Sorry it takes me so long to write back, the whole time difference stinks! Well the clinic said we do not need a double insemination if it is timed right. But I have a friend with the same infertility issues as my husband and me, and she has done 3 IUI's and they all failed. (same clinic) I know every person is different, but I see what she goes through when she finds out it didnt work. My heart cries for her. I was just thinking maybe I can raise my chances of it working. Ya know?? My Doctor probably is irritated with me, coming to see him and i am telling him what to do!! LOL Sometimes I feel these Drs. do not care what all of us are going through. They do not understand the heartache. Is IVF expensive there??
After my husband and I found out we would have to use a donor I thought our marriage was not going to make it. At first he did NOT want to go that route. He said, I guess we just wont have children. But after a long year of adjusting and coming to terms he is all for it! He is so excited. So yes, we are going the donor route. Sorry for the book. I just wanted to give you some of my background.

Your story sounds just like mine! After our failed isci cycle my partner said "NO WAY" to using a donor. He did manage to come around when he had got over our failed cycle. I do have a son (10yrs) from a previous partner but really wanted another child. I went through the whole process of "Am I being selfish aready having a child?" and all the donor questions that run through your mind. Anyway it's all been a really long process and I think it's made dh and I stronger. Gee if we can get through all of this we can get through anything!

It has been expensive. The first isci cycle cost us the most and then after that medicare 'health system' helped out with some of the costs. We are orginally from New Zealand where it is a lot more expensive there. I do understand about the doctors this is our second clinic and both clinics just treat you like another number.

Do you have any fertility issues? If not you could always try a few iui's first?

Hi everyone again,

I'm back from my travels and surrounded by packing boxes (to be truthful, I just bought them today). DH and I will start looking at houses to rent on Saturday.

The visit to my MIL's went surprisingly well. I thought it wouldn't at first, there was a lot of avoidance going on. But when DH and I sat down with her and worked out on a piece of paper whether she wanted to go or stay from her partner's old home we had a real breakthrough. I was then able to talk about things from the past. I feel really happy now with the relationship as it is. But I've grown up a bit too, and realised that the dynamics in DH's family are very different to my own. And there are some things that DH can only fix - which I've handed over to him to do.

My husband also took a long time to come around to the idea of using a donor. He also said 'NO WAY'. Now he loves the idea of having a child.

Having continual failures with any treatment is tough - and I feel for your friend. Hopefully things will happen for both you and your friend soon.
