Hi Riya -
Wow, you are truly blessed. I am so thankful that your results were positive! :)

I just got my results back and it was BPN. I am upset, but I kind of knew that it was, based on my body signs. I pray that someday I blessed with the miracle of conception as you are - it is truly a miracle.

Did you cut any foods from your diet ie: caffeine, dairy, red meat? I have really restricted my diet eating lots of fiber and veggies and even been doing accupuncture for some time now...

Anyway, just curious since my journey to becoming a Mom is continuing....

Christie,
My results were BPN - pretty disappointing to say the least.... Not sure what do or how to proceed. This was my 3rd round of IVF and it's tough to understand....I wish you the best with your test and pray that you have a BPP!

Oh Rudy, I'm so sorry. That is horrible news. You poor thing. Try to stay positive and it will happen someday. What is meant to be, is meant to be. Take some time and let yourself be sad and then move on to the next cycle. It just takes some women longer than others. You are in my thoughts.

laura,
iam so sorry, I really expected a bfp from u. I know how frustrated u would be now. I am really sorry. Please dont give up. U will get a miracle soon.
regarding my diet, Iam vegeterian, I dont eat meat not even eggs too, i ate beans and sprouts for protiens and some protien bars, i eat vegetables, wheat breads and some white rice. I stopped caffine 3 months back. I stopped drinking any kind of coke or pepsi for the past 3 months. I limited my sugar intake as iam overwight and i dont want to put extra during the treatment, No choclates, i ate multigrain cerials and breads and snack on nuts. I dint do any diet. i sometimes snacked on junk foods too. I drank 1 glass of 1% organic milk everyday for the calcium and protien.

I am really sorry that this time dint work for u. Please try Next time it will defnitely work for u.

Hi Candid -
Thx - btw, what did you do to prepare for this...did you give up caffeine entirely, dairy or red meat. Just curious given my lack of success despite my efforts to be as prepared as possible.
Thank,
laura

Hi Laura,

The honest answer is no, I didn't give a lot of things up. I figure that as long as you are healthy, eat plenty of fruit and vegetables and laugh every day your body is getting what it needs. I have never been a big coffee, or alcohol drinker to be fair - I probably had one or two glasses of good red wine a week (if that). I eat red meat, have on average two cups of tea a day, but I am drinking in excess of 4 pints of water to compensate for that. Obviously now, I have no wine at all and I have been eating more bran to help with the constipation

One thing I would recommend is a good acupuncturist. I have been seeing my acupuncturist for quite a while because I have arthritis. She did see me on the day of the transfer (post ET) and I have to say that was great, because I was a mess of excitement on that day and she calmed me down. However, she would only see me once per week, and has now pulled back to once per fortnight. I think you can have too much acupuncture, so she is offering quality instead of quantity - good acupuncturists are likely to do this. Hope everything goes well for you Laura. I have a good feeling about your future :) Keep me posted.

Question for Riya

Post by washingtonda »

Riya I am sorta new to the forum and have just been lurking around. I noticed that you are from Maryland and are using Shady Grove. I am just ready to start my 1st cycle of IVF and am using Sday Grove also. I go to the Annapolis office and Dr. Mottla is my RE.

Can you tell me what SG facility and doctor you use. Also is there any good advice you can give me.

My cycle was cancelled last month becasue I am Anemic and my counts were very low.

Thanks
Me, 40 - DH, 47
IVF #1: POSITIVE - Michaela born 9/19/08
IVF #2: Consult on 10/13/09 - Start BCP Dec since clinic will be closed for the Holiday.

Hi washingtonda,
I am going to rockville shadygrove and my re is Dr chang. I am happy with them. They respond very well to my queries. Actually my first ivf was cancelled and converted to iui because i dint respond well to the stims which ends in bfn, and my second ivf was successful with a bfp.
Iam sorry that ur first cycle was cancelled. Dont worry. Second will success. Did u second cycle started, which phase are u in now. Iam sorry that i coudnt understand about the count. which count was low for u?
Did they change any medications this time.
U said ure anemic , any adivice from them regarding?
sorry too many questions. all the best for u.

hi Eimear2,
I actually dint do anything special in 2ww. I rested the whole 2ww.( did very minimal household works) I know the 2ww kills. But my only advice is eat healthy, Stay positive. I know its difficult.
Lots of baby dust to all.

For Riya

Post by washingtonda »

Riya - Anemia is when your blood count is low. Its just a lack of blood blow in the body. I have alway been anemic and the doctor didn't want to take a chance of something going wrong when putting me under for the retrieval so he told me I needed to get my levels up before he would do the procedure.

This meant I never started any meds or anything. I was on my two weeks of birth control and was to start Meds that following week prior to them getting the results and they called and said for me to get my levels up and we'll test them again this month to see if they are good enough to proceed.

I take a prescribed medication for this and have to eat healthy foods high in proteins and green leafy vegetables. I have my levels tested again on the 15th so hopefully they come out to be much better and I can start my two weeks of BC on the 26th of this month.
