Amy--So sorry to hear about your friend's brother...it just goes to show that you never know when the last time you see someone is going to be. Cliche, I know, but I've really been thinking about that lately--it just seems like so many people have died recently. You're a great friend to be helping her--I'm sure she appreaciates it.

I wish I had a fun story to distract you with. I'm feeling kind of blah today, though. Just tired, I think, but it's just one of those days. Legally Blonde is on tv, though, so that's cheering me up. Hate to admit it, but that movie makes me laugh. There you go, something to think about--what's a movie that you hate to admit you like, but that every time it's on you have to watch it?

Hi Meg - Love Actually I reckon for me - especially round Christmas time.

Amy - glad you have had a positive experiece from the Chinese Dr - I was the world's biggest sceptic but I have to say I am sure mine and her drugs helped me ovulate last month and get this - 6 weeks later it seems to be happening again!

I did an OPK this morning and the test line was darker . Am waiting further instructions from Dr D. Our bodies are funny things.

Jenn - I loved your description of the Fall - I was in Virginia just a few weeks early - the leaves were beginning to change but everyone told me how beautiful they would be soon. We don't really get fall here - the trees are a bit dry and have to be drought resistant!

Fee - helloooo! Are you there? When is the baby shower?

Hi to everyone else.

Hey girls-

We are home for 2 whole weeks. Yeah!

Amy- Bueller is here! That is my husbands FAVORITE movie! Anytime we are flipping through channels and see it we have to watch it. I'm sorry about your friend's brother. I don't have any fun stories. Nothing fun happening here- my dog has had it coming out both ends if you know what I mean all night and all day today. It was not a fun night. I guess it is practice for motherhood!

Meg- hope your blahs are over. I like Legally Blonde although DH makes fun of me for watching it! I also like The Cutting Edge. It's a cheesy movie about ice skaters that fall in love. Are you getting much sleep with Lucy? My biggest fear is that I will never sleep again once the baby is here. I love my sleep!

Ok- time to unpack and put everything away for the next couple of weeks.
Jenn

Jenn--I love the Cutting Edge, too! Toe Pick! I was in love with DB Sweeney forever after that movie came out! Yeah, sleep is an issue. It's amazing how you adjust, though. My dh and I were laughing about how I was so excited the other night because I got 3 hours in a row of sleep. 3 whole hours! It was a major luxury. Your body really does adapt, though. I've had a few bad moments where my dh just takes the baby and sends me straight to bed. The main problem is that Lucy will only sleep if someone is holding her, so I've been sleeping all night on the couch with her on my chest. She gets me up every 2-3 hours to nurse anyway, so it's not the end of the world. And actually, I love holding her so much that I think I'll really miss it when she decides she can sleep in her bed! You'll be fine, I know it.

It's a gorgeous day out here, so I'm going to go take the dog for a walk. I've decided to start exercising again, even though it's only been 3 weeks since the C-section so I've done the elliptical machine the last two days---It feels so good to be active again! I'm determined to loose this weight before Thanksgiving because we always take family photos then and I want to be back in shape. It's going to be hard, though because I am eating everything in sight! Oh well.....

Hope everyone is doing good. Who's going to be cycling next?

Me! Me! I'm next in line! Can you believe it ? My hormones are behaving themselves for once this month and I am all set for a natural thaw cycle transfer on Thursday – totally drug free so far! Amazing – the body is a bizarre thing.

After my LH blood test yesterday the nurse said I was having a "spectacluar surge" - hilarious. Wish I could feel it!

Fee - where are you - very quiet? Are you having a baby? Write soon.

Angie this is SOOO exciting! What an amazing cycle! Please do tell what crazy herbs she had you on. I am feeling amazing and have only been taking a detox kit and something else for less than a week now. I can't wait to go in and see what is actually going on inside.

Jenn - Glad you are back. It has been suspiciously quiet around here - we need some doggie flu stories to get us started again.

Meg - Love that you are hitting some classics. Who doesn't love a good chick flick. Especially those that don't take a lot of brain power when you are working on minimal sleep. Good for you for exercising. Try some elliptical for me.

Fee - Are you off birthing Nogs in the Outback??

Sass - Where are you? Does BIL have you captive? Do you need the AG to come down there??

Robbo - How is school??

hi Amy - am glad you are feeling great from your de-tox - what's the next plan for you?

the herbs were something like xiang ping pu and ching zing zao - only joking! - they had funny chinese names - I will look them up . The horrible tasteing tea was simply called "chinese granule mixture" - very scientific! I am looking forward to seeing my acu lady on fri - she will be excited to hear about all that has happened.

FEE - where are yooooooooou? I think you finished work so may be you are computer - less? Come and speak to us soon.

Good to hear from you Angie - I was starting to think the sisterhood was disbanding... but I guess the girls are all off vacationing!

I am on Bupleurum & Chih - shih (SiNiSan) Yeah - could be dehydrated dog urine for all I know. I am going to take that and the detox drops for 30 days and have weekly acupuncture sessions and then I might do a FET. I am so excited that yours is only a day away! How many are you transferring? Are they blasts? Can't wait to hear what your medicine woman says.

Sleep tight!

Hello sistas - very quiet here. Fee, especially, where are you? The sistas need some updates.

Well I am on my 2ww. What a stress free cycle - still no drugs for me yippee! Although I have insisted on a blood test on Sat to check my progesterone just in case. Dr D doesn't think I need to but says I can. Can't believe I am volunteering for one!

2 wombats transferred - 3 and 4 cell at 2 day - I don't think that sounds too great but I am not going to stress.

So had a couple of meetings this morning - popped out, met DH, had the transfer and then came back to work! What a surreal world we live in - business as usual as far as I am concerned this time. And we have dinner with DH's family tonight (who know nothing about all this) so plenty of chances to forget about it for a while.

have great days/nights ladies.

Ladies- Seems like forever since I have been on here. School is keeping me super busy. We just went self-contained this week, so now I have double the work.
Our principal is changing up a bunch of things as well, so the stress levels around here are super high.

I am going to do personals later today....but I had a few questions from a friend of mine.
She just did a FET (well 2 weeks ago). Got her blood work back and her beta was a 205. She is not exactly sure what that means. And I kind of know what a beta is, but not how to explain it. HELP! She was also wondering when they would be able to tell if it was twins or just a singlet, and how they go about doing this.
It has just been too long since I had my dd, so I can't remember everything. Any help you guys can give me would be greatly apprecaited.

Angie- So excited for your unmedicated cycle. When will we know for sure?

I promise everyone else I will write later.

Hello-

Angie- Wow! You sound so great about this cycle. So relaxed! I hope your blood test is good, way to go for insisting that you need one. If it will help ease your mind, or even give you and Dr. D some good information I say do it!

Robbo- I really don't know much about the beta test either. I just knew I wanted it to be a number over 50! I think it shows the level of pregnancy hormone in you. I think the preg. hormone they are looking for is HCG. Anyway as for the looking for twins- my dr. was waiting for the number to get over 1000 (or was it 3000? I don't remember) and then she would do an ultrasound. At any rate I hit that number and got an u/s at 5 wks 3 days. So I didn't have to wait long. All you can see are black dots that hopefully have a yolk sac in them. But you can count those dots!

Wow- were you not self contained and now you are? Right in the middle of the first semester? Bummer!! How many subjects were you teaching? When I started my very first year we were self contained and then at Christmas break we mentioned that we didn't want to do that next year and the principal said we could switch right then. So we did! Much easier to only do half the planning! Good luck!!
Jenn

Angie--congrats on the transfer. Now we just sit back and wait, huh? I hate the 2ww!! Glad you've got lots going on to help keep you distracted. Have fun at the inlaws tonight---not something I usually enjoy! Although I got to tell you I like my mother in law a lot better since I've seen how much she loves Lucy. Definitely helps.

So, as a non-teacher, tell me what self-contained is so I can properly feel sorry for you, Robbo! And an HCG level measures a hormone that only appears when prego--it's the same thing that hpts measure. Usually, the higher the number the better the chance of multiples but like everything else in this process nothing is definite. The important thing with hcg is that the number doubles every 48 hours.

Fee?????? Where are you? I'm praying eveything is fine with you and Noggin.

Sassy??? How are you? Pretty quiet.

Hey there ladies....

Meg: I'm thinking we are in another one of the "slow periods" this thread seems to go through periodically... we are quite cyclical, aren't we? Glad to hear Lucy is still eating like a champ. So every 2-3 hours... how much sleep do you actually get at a time???

Ooopps--
just got called away at work, must run, will be back to finish in a few hours.

Ciao!

Phew ladies, I'm back. Now where was I?...

Angie: Congrats on your transfer... and that it was without meds! Quite a change you have had with the Chinese herbs!2 wombats is fabulous. How is your 2ww so far?? Hoping your voluntary stick this weekend shows good things.

Fee: Helloooooo (echo, echo, echo). How is nogs???

Robbo: congrats to your friends on getting pregnant! I know very little to nothing regarding the significance of specific beta levels. Like meggo said, the main thing is how fast it doubles. There are charts online which give you an idea of what the beta should be based on exactly how many days post LMP or post ovulation. If you start a thread on the general board, I'm sure someone can tell you the website. I'm with mego, I have not clue the what being "self contained" means, but it sounds stressful.

Amy: ooooo, a FET in the near future. Fabulous. What's up with the "detox" drops?

Jenn: glad to hear you are home for a few weeks and can get settled in. How's the pooch doin'?

I start my LAST (ummmm, at least I think it will be  ) stim cycle next Thursday. Yay! In the mean time, I am heading out to visit my parents tomorrow. It is their 40th wedding anniversary next week and my older sister came up with a great idea to contact loved ones and collect letters and pictures to put in an album for them. So we spent the last few months getting all these letters together--- which has been SO MUCH fun as we have been hearing from people for the first time in decades. I spent the last few weeks putting the album together and decorating it.

I have been using 12x12 black cardstock and all letters and pictures are matted in red cardstock. Then I layered red with black and white ribbon to frame the top of each page, and then I put the person's name in a cool font matted in red and tacked it to the ribbon. It looks uber-classy. My brother scanned in a picture from their wedding of them cutting the cake (an 8x10) and I matted it with black, silver and red cardstock. The facing page is blank and we are going to have a picture taken of them this weekend and put it there. My parents have no idea we are doing it... nor do they know we will be showing up at their house tomorrow! I am meeting up with my sisters in phoenix and we will all be flying to where they are (they are far away from home for the next few years doing volunteer work for our church). They have a lot of responsibility on their shoulders and the last few weeks have been very stressful. They are also quite lonely for family and friends. So this is fabulous timing! Unfortunately, my brother has to be in Hong Kong for business, so he will be on the cell phone when we show up at their house. We are flying back home next Tuesday, so it should be a fun four days. I don't expect to have much access to the internet... so I will let you all know how it goes when I get back... and then it will be stim time for Sassy again!!!
