Talisen_cat - I completely relate to your frustrating/anxiety with the waiting. I am just about to go into my 7th cycle and the waiting is the worst part - especially the 2ww. Let's hope that AF arrives quickly!

Well, after my near breakdown on Saturday I am feeling much better. I went in for a few more u/s over the weekend and then again today for my final one. The RE said that it looks like I'll have 6-7 eggs of good size so we'll see how many fertilize. I am feeling so much better about it now! Even if we end up with 4 embryos I'll be happy!
So, I trigger tonight and will have my ER on Thursday with ET on Sunday the 14th and Tuesday the 16th. It is going to be a busy week! I guess that means that my test date will be Oct 30! I sure hope that October flies by!

How is everyone doing?

I am new to the board. I do my trigger shot tonite at 7pm. Egg retrieval is on Thursday 10/11. Excited, nervous.....

Kellym, I saw that you will be having ER about the same time. We should share experiences.

talise_cat, I soooo agree with you on the wait. I am going potso waiting. I just want to get going with the stims so I can feel "productive". I can't believe I actually want injections

I seriously need to seek therapy after this.

wannabeamomma, after this you won't have time for therapy... maybe some indulging in daytime TV, nappy changing and thinking of how to find the time to get out of tracksuit pants and have the odd blow dry session with the hair, will be enough therapy ha ha!!!

I have many hobbies that keep me busy (photography, and dancing and a busy work environment - that creeps in to my home life aaarh!!). I am still a little blasé about the up coming cycle... though have had a few minor cramps indicating AF is on the way... It's due tomorrow, I can't believe I'm looking forward to it...what a topsy turvy world us IVFers live in!!!!

Great news Kelly, it made me smile hearing your positive news. As so many people keep telling me - it only takes one.... sometimes I want to bop them on the head with anything heavy in close grasping range, and other times I think "yeah, that's true"

Hi everyone,

I started stims on 10/5 with the max dosage of Gonal-F (450 iu) and went for an u/s scan yesterday. They found 3 follicles only. Not a good result and I was disappointed. Kelly, I'm a later bloomer than you!! RE added another type of injection for me, called Luveris, which is suppose to help further. Going for another scan this Friday and hopefully more follies will show up.

Tentative date of ER is 10/16 and ET is 10/18. I think my dates coincide with some of you! Good luck and let's keep in touch with our progress.

BTW, this is my 1st IVF/ICSI with history of severe endo. Anyone knows if this contributes to the lack response from the stims?

Welcome crystal and hopeful.

I was a low responder for no apparent reason. None of the docs could give me answers. I ended up seeing a natropath who said it was my bodies lack of ability to process the hormones. She set about cleaning up my system (liver, digestive system). I felt better than ever and am hoping that by cleaning up my insides it will help everything work in harmony and bring about more eggs.

I am a little concerned about being on a dose of 300 stims. 450 is a lot Crystal.

AF had arrived (the spiteful thing is cramping my insides something awful!).

How is everyone else?

hi all

will catch up with personals tomorrow...i promise... i had a call from the clinic and i have to come early for my scan 3 days early now the 12th ...am so excited as this means my donor may be ready to go next week...will let you know what the scan went like and what the clinic d=said when i call them after the scan x x

P.S. i have been waiting since last ivf tmt cycle june 2006 for this it's taken a lot of time and effort to get organised ... hope it all comes together okay x x keep your chin upp everyone who is waiting your time will come soon....Acu helped me with the frustrating bits when i was so fed up...could you try too???

i was a poor responder and was on 450 gonal ...acu helped clear off the excesses of the hormones ( it does take a lot out of you) I got 3 follies and 2 grade a eggies fertiised ...so good luck x x hope this helps x x

Hey ladies,
I started out on the Sept/Oct cycle buddies because I didnt quite understand the process and how long it was going to take. I start Lupron shots on Sunday! I am quite relieved at how tiny the needles are.
Did anyone go to the Dr. office for the first shot? I dont have my first appt until Nov 1 so they dont plan on showing me how to do the shots? She said she will show me how to do the others when i come in on the 1st. (I live an hour away from my dr).
Does anyone have any advice for this?

Hi Princess.How are you?

Don't worry about the shots. The doctor or nurse, they will explain you how to do it.

I was worried about mine but with practice you just get used to it.
At the moment im on down reg with supercur(busereline or besereline...)300iu.
I take it on my tummy and it's been fine. Only when im on AF that it hurts. I guess it's becuase we are more sensitive on that time.

PrincessB- Your RE didn't show you how to do the shots?

Mine makes you take a injection session with a nurse before you do any shot. Anyway, those liitle shots in the belly are a piece of cake. the shots should be given about 2 finger lengths from your belly button, grab the fat between 2 fingers pinch it so it hurts just a little then do a fast jab with the shot at a 90 degree angle. Each night rotate belly sides following the same 2 finger rule. Oh and don't forget to clean with an alcohol swab and let it dry before the shot. That way it doesn't sting

I had my first Lucrin shot this morning, then off for bloods and US. I start Gonal- f 300 tomorrow morning. I have a few follies already so hopefully that's a good omen!!

Princess B - on my first cycle, I was soooonervous about the shots and they turned out to be a piece of cake. You'll be fine.

Aine, have you had any side effects from the down reg meds?

Hi talisen_cat & jen_babes,

I went for 2nd u/s scan today and the same 3 follies remain. No new follies despite the Luverin jab.... Follies increased to 12mm on day 8 stims. So I need to continue for another 3 days before doing another scan if the follies are mature. The drugs are costing me a bomb!! I'm using a lot more than a typical stims session. Hopefully the eggs are good!

How long is your down-regulation jab? I was on it for 4 weeks before starting stims. Could this be the reason for my low response? The RE did not provide any explanation for this. He said many factors - could be the fact that I had endo, or maybe my body just not responding ;-(

Princess B - the jab is easy. you can hardly feel the pain.

Talisen_cat - Good luck in your stims tomorrow. I know it's exciting that you finally arrive to this day.

Jen babes - how did you scan go??

I had my day 6 lining scan today and its 4.2 mm hopefully on track for ET in 10-16 days. I have to go back on monday for another check up and scan so hope we have more neews about donor and ET then. My egg donor ( DE) is anon so i don't get any info until the ET day...wee are going in Spain so with any luck they should give us a week notice to get our plane and hotel booked...but i am getting to the exciting bit. As i said in my last post it has been a long wait since last tmt cycle x x I had to let go of using my own eggs ( i only got 1 at last cycle) and the 450 gonal stim drugs was killing me. have found Acu really helps my body suffer the drugs better. this time i am on patches until ET and the n pesseries of progesterone too!!!!
