I'm new to this site but I was pleased to find such a site.I'm a mother of 3, never having difficulty conceiving. I saw my sister go through infertility problems and 3 IVF's and since then decided I wanted to help couples have a child if I could. I've recently been matched with a couple for egg donation for my first egg donation and I am due to start the donor process next month. I have an good idea of what I'm in for but I was wondering what exactly I can expect with the meds. I have a Mirena IUD, will that have to be removed before I can start this process or can it be worked around? How long after starting meds is the retrieval typically? How fertile will I be after the retrieval in respect to using protection with my partner? For the medications part of the process, I have to find a Dr. to work with in my area because the clinic is far away so is my OBGYN good enough or do I need to find a fertility specialist. The actually retrieval will be done at the clinic so I just need to find a Dr. to perscribe the meds and get me to the point of retrieval. And anything else you can tell me about it would be greatly appreciated. My donor coordinator hasn't been very informative about this part as of yet.
