Hi, I am new to this thread. First off, Jen I don't know you yet, but i want to tell you that I'm sorry about BFN. We know how painful this whole business is and I wish there was something that I could say. My thoughts are with you and wishing the best for you.

I recognize Jenbabes from the over 40 thread, Hi, it's chriss.

Everyone, I just got my BFN. I am very sad, crying a lot. Saw my data sheet from clinic and read that my eggs are very dark and grainy. I know this can't be good. I want to pursue motherhood and I want to look into DE. I have a consult on Monday to go over my failed cycle. I am going to be very upfront with DR. and ask, is it time for DE? I don't know what to do. I need advice from you girls. I live in U.S., don't know a thing about DE. Wishing the best for all of you. Appreciate all of your feedback. Thanks. -chriss

Still in my pj's and friends have invited us round but i cant even move never mind socialise.

I feel numb and cant stop crying. I wasnt like that last time but i cant see anyway forward for us. We have 2 embies but if the best ones didnt work then neither will the last 2. It doesnt look good for us now and i feel we are at the end of the road. So much for IM having great success rates. I am being continually told, once i get good eggs then my luck will cange. Well now we have young eggs of the best quality and it still hasnt worked. If we had the money i would try every month until it worked. Its so hard seeing dh, he plods along like everything is ok as he expects the neg result now but i know he is hurting. He keeps telling me he wants me but i know he longs for a baby and i'm stopping him having that and i feel awful. I just think its a waste of time now and just want to leave this shit world, never felt like this before but i cant live with this pain all my life. Dont want to watch others in the street or people i know getting pregnant, watching bumps, having babies, feeling sorry for me and longing for a baby---there will be constant pain in my heart and i'm stopping dh moving on.

I'm so mad with IM to. I wanted a hysteroscopy but they said i didnt need one, now they say they want to do one before next ET. They should have done it last time with the doppler, like i said then they wouldnt have wasted my 2 embies.

Our only chance now is adoption but i work with the social work dept and know there are no babies and the average age is 5 years but we want a smaller child plus it takes a long time get the children. Does anyone know how to adopt in America as they have more babies and agencies over there?

Sorry to rant on but i have never felt so low through all my times of ivf and i cant see this ever working for us--------ever.

I don't know what to say to you. Don't socialise. It is way too hard for you right now. Stay in your PJs and worry about yourself.



I am afraid that I don't know about adoption in the US. I have friends who are in the UK and adopted through China. It took quite a while but they ended up with a darling little girl, earlier this year. She came to them at around 8 months and is a doll.

I realise the money is an issue but do you think that it is worth looking at another clinic. May be ISIDA who helped BigJ. I know that it is a lot less expensive there, but they still have a good success rate.

Or may be Gill can tell you about embryo adoption. That way may be you could get a different donor and also someone who was proven. May be the issue is the youngsters eggs and you just don't go together.

I am sorry that I am waffling but just want to put something out there that could help you.

You know where I am. Just wish that there was more that I could do for you.

Hi Chriss - sorry to read of your BFN. Welcome. My eggs are dark, fragmented and murky. They told us we could keep trying with my own eggs but % chances were very low. Hope that your appointment on Monday goes well and gives you some clarity. Sure you'll get more feedback from the others, it is just that we are all really struggling because of what Jen has been through on her 6th attempt

sorry to hear about your BFN hun...it's a tough choice when all that is left is to go from using your own egg to DE...I hope we can help as much as possible. Our protocol in europe is totally differant to USA...although there is a US girl on this thread rebeccaj who is from US...you could PM her with your tmt questions or ask away on here and we will try and help. As i said on the over 40's thread the book "having your baby thrugh egg donation" is written from an American perspective and is very helpful. Carolynb has read it and recommended it to me and i found it very helpful. so try that too. Will add you to the list and you can also see who everyone is too x x tell me what you would like me to add after your name when you've read it. Anyway hun, i know how tough it is having a BFN it takes time to heal but having a next goal can help you work with the grief so good luck and many hugs x x

Hi Chris,

Feel free to ask away. I'm actually from the UK but have been living in the US for 2.5 years and went through all my treatment (4 IUI's; 2 IVF's plus DE IVF) over here. I am 34 and produced lots of eggs but had the same issue of all of them being dark and grainy. we were given a 5% chance of it working with my eggs so tried IUI's while we finilised the DE program - that way I felt like we weren't giving up. I am extremely lucky to have a fabulous sister who flew over to the US and donated her eggs to me and am equally lucky that it worked first time and I am now 11 weeks pregnant with twins.

Although we didn't use one, there are 1000's of agencies in the US which offer Donor services (just do a google search); they show photo's and statistics of the girls and also locations. The agencies arte expensive (around $5,000) and then you will have to pay for the donors expenses and medications. All in all it will be around $15 - $20k BUT also depends on how much you're covered on insurance for your bit. It's also quick in the US as the donors get paid (unlike Europe) it's just a case of finding a match and getting the cycles sync'd. Let me know if you have any questions - I would be happy to help.


Jen1d, like the others we are stumped to find the right words honey but we are all here for you and understand a little of how you feel. Please don't give up hope. you WILL become a mummy somehow and someday and it won't be long. I've read lots of posts where FET with the worst eggs worked and you could pursue this option while also looking at other options, just so you know. Just don't give up honey. AND one last thing - your DH married you for you - you have to remember that this isn't your fault, it's just one of those things. We IVF'ers have the strongest teams with our DH's because it's the hardest thing to go through - stay strong.

Hi

Well that firm email to IM must have worked as Dr Guix just rang. She said its our decision about having a hysteroscopy or ET but they would advise to check everything out first. She said our embies are good and wouldnt have been frozen if they werent good grade or developing well so i must keep positive hahaha. Got upset on the phone and she was trying to encourage us to get checked first then go for ET. She said there is nothing that they can see stopping me getting pregnant, i have just been unlucky----------bloody understatement.

Feel so sad and unhappy, cant get motivated to move on this time.

It;s totally understandable that you are feeling unmotivated sweetheart. Yu have been through 2 cycles back to back and had all the rief before them of using donor eggies and now all the grief after cycles...You are totally wrung out hun x x ((((((((((HUGS)))))))))) just wished we could send you real hugs x x xTake your time and recover...i do hope you are taking time off work this week ( know your not due back til wed)...

rhalloo- good to hear rfom you...the weather has been fab here in Brutain too makes a change for us huh!...but in scotland the trees are longer in their autumn colours because of this and are beautiful. I would love to see New England in the fall its meant to be superb! How did yu get on with your patches and your scan????
