CaseyP--Good luck with Joshua in his crib! At least he's willing to lie there awake...that's half the battle, right?

We took the kids to Oktoberfest today...so hot, but Ellie and Braeden LOVED seeing all the people, hearing the music, etc. Was a bit of a pain to feed them while we were there, as all they wanted to do was look around and flirt with people. But, we managed. Thank God my in-laws were there to help! Due to all the excitement, both babies went down a little early tonight. I hope they don't get up too early tomorrow morning!

Good night!

hi there girls...... we have a tooth-- Gavin cut his first tooth on saturday, and i think the next is making it;s way through today (he has been a REALLY big crab today. We went on a little weekend with the kids to wis dells... we went to a waterpark , the bpys all loved it... Gavin and i floated alone the lazy river, and he loved it untill he got slashed, big time, in the face.. then he took a nap there.... it was loud in there, but i think that it was like background noise.... it was fun, but gavin was a handful with the tooth and all... my other two boys teethed so much better... the others we didn't know that they were teething until we saw the tooth... I'm thinking that maybe that was why he was acting up last week, and maybe not so much the reflux..altho he was better for a little while after we uped the meds... who knows... we'll have to see...

tasha- we stayed at the peppertree timeshare condos... it was nice a two bedroom with a full kitchen... we usually stay at the wilderness, but we wanted to try this route this time, and had to use the points. we went to the kalahri water park, and the tommybarlet exporitory... a few other things too... but tried to chill.

kim-as for the naps.... with my other two i remember that happening, but i cut out the cat naps.. or tried to, and at that point they went to a two nap schedule that they slept 1 1/2 hours.... they ended up starting to sleep more at night too... putting them to bed earlier, and they slept in later.... Gavin beats his own drum... we are so not scheduled... but i think that i'm going to try what rachael tried...as my other two fell into a schedule on their own, i think that i need to help gavin out.

rachael-i think that i'm going to try and schedule... i just do not know where to start....do i wake him if he's sleeping?? how do you put them to bed if they are not tired?? what if they fall asleep while the are on the floor do i wake him, and push his nap off??? help... how did you do it?? i've not done the cereal thing yet.. i am afraid that it might make him more constipated, then i would have to add friut juice or food in to combat that... hope that your back is doing better...

casy- how did joshua like his room??? gavin likes to be awake for 1-1 1/2 hours when he waked also... i feed him and put him back in bed... he'll be up talking and moving around for a while, then put himself back to sleep-most of the time anyway... hopefully he'll like just hanging out in his crib

well, have a lot to do, and hope that everyone is well....

Colleen--I do have to wake my babes occassionally to keep on schedule (but with twins you kind of have to!). However, they usually wake up on their own...their bodies are trained! Good luck!

Hello Girls... sorry it has been so long - we have just been so busy lately. And now my little princess has a little cold - I'm sure it's due to this crazy weather (90's last weekend and then it was in the 50's this past week).

Kim- I just looked on photobucket and your little ones are so cute... Ellie does look a little like Aubrey - I love the chunky thighs.

Colleen- Wow Gavin already has a tooth... well no teeth yet for Aubrey, but I think she's getting there. She has been drooling like crazy lately and gnawing on everything lately.

Rachael, Casy, Jeck, and everyone else - how are your little ones doing?

Aubrey is doing well besides her little cold... we tried her in the exersaucer this past week and she just loves it... she's now at the point where she is grabbing and picking everything up - it's so cute. She takes her paci out of her mouth and puts it back in (upside down most of the time)...

Well I'll try and write back sooner... however, work is going to be crazy this week and we're going to see Van Halen Tuesday night... I'm not sure if I can stay awake through the whole concert.

Good Night Girls-
Tasha

Tasha--I'm glad Aubrey likes the exersaucer...we've been wondering when we can pull that out. WE have a jumparoo too...I guess we should start putting it together, huh? I'm guessing Braeden will LOVE those toys as he's always trying to stand up on our laps. Have fun at Van Haelen! I can't make it past 10 o'clock on most nights...

Racheal, how's Makayla doing? I hope she's better!

hi there girls... just a quick note, as i know that Gavin will be up soon... i'm trying the schedule, buthe is not cooperating... when it;s nap time he takes an hour to get to sleep, then he's suposed to be waking up when he finally goes down, and the nights are crazy... i'm trying to make the feeding the exact time, but the middle of the night is up for grabs... somedays he is up 3x others only 1 time... so do i wake him in the am to feed if he was up just 1 1/2 ago??

i think his other tooth popped through, so maybe he'll be a little more setteled... but he has bit his own finger and started screaming... he bit me once(yes while feeding) i did a big NO and OUCH, and scared him... he started to cry tears and all i felt bad, but boy that hurt... we are still trying to get him to take a bottle, but he doesn't want one...

well, i hope that everyone is well, and aubrey is feeling better... colds stink!!!! and the exersacuer and bouncer are my life saver... gavin will mamnge the bouncer for 1/2 hour... godd time to get dinner ready and the older kids love watching him go crazy....

hope that you all have a great day... i'll try personals later!

Looks like things are a bit quiet on here but hope everyone is well.

Colleen- Sorry to hear about the biting...can see why you would want to give a bottle now!! Guess babies must learn not to bite as so many women do breastfeed for so long? Hope he doesn't do it too much and the nights soon settle for you.

Tasha- hope Aubrey's cold is soon better, it seems so much worse on a baby.

Kim- Love the photos. Glad you explained about the height issue though as you would think you are only 4 ft!

We are well. Joshua is being a star and the last 2 nights has slept 8pm-7am with a 10.30 feed from me which I wake him for! I can't believe it but am counting myself lucky at the moment...I know it won't last. I have introduced a bottle at lunchtime now as well so he has 2 bottles of formula and the rest of the time i'm breastfeeding, and have stuck to regular times for the last week....so far so good. He is also sleeping well in the day most of the time, I know things will change again soon tho. DD has been more of a challenge this week, behaviour not great and she bit Joshua for the first time. Maybe she has just realised he is here to stay! Oh well they can't both be good at the same time can they!

Take care and update us when you can. Would love to hear from Jeck with her news but guess she is pretty busy....

Hi gals,

Rough day for me...car battery died, got it jumped, was running late, and got a speeding ticket!!!!   AAAAHhhh, just couldn't win today!

We stopped swaddling the kiddos last night (I think I'm late on that one...) and started using the sleep sacks. I was very nervous, as both my babies like to be swaddled most of the night. They did pretty well, though. They slept from 9 until about 5. Not their normal 9-6:30ish....but I'm sure we'll get back to that. Now that their not swaddled, they're swinging their arms and hitting each other in the middle of the night. They didn't wake up screaming or anything, but I have a feeling I'm going to have to separate them into different cribs soon. :(

Colleen--sorry to hear about Gavin's nipple chomping! I can't even imagine that pain...yikes!!!! As for the schedule. Is your doctor specifying set times? I tend to go by my kids' needs...for example, they tend to wake up around 6:45 or so (on their own usually, every once in a while I have to wake...). Then they are usually up for about 2 hours, then they get sleepy and either take a "good nap" (about an hour or so) or a little catnap. Then they're up for another 2 hours, then a nap....so on. That tends to work for us, and our feedings are usually about every 3 hours, and they ALWAYS wake up in time for that! It might take a while for GAvin to adjust into some sort of schedule that works for him. You're right, it doesn't seem to make sense to put him down for a nap if he isn't tired, you know? I read a book SOMEWHERe, that says most babies around this age are usually up for 1 1/2 to 2 hours at a time, and then they need some rest of some sort. I know we had to have a bit of a flexible schedule early on, but now it's pretty much like clockwork on most days. I'm sure it'll get better for you. Good luck!

Colleen and Tasha--when should I start using the exersaucer? My two are 4 months now, but they might be a little on the short side. I haven't tried it yet, but I'm anxious to get them up and about more...

Have a good night gals, I know things have to be better for me tomorrow!

sorry casy about the bad night.... maybe it was somthing yesterday... gavin was up every 2 1/2-3 hours... like a newborn... i tell you, i'm trying to get the kid on some sort of schedule and he is fighting it...

kim- gavin is so unpredictable... some days he is up 2 or 3 times in the night...on an occasion.. he'll sleep through... he was sleeping a lot better befor ..other times he'll get up just once... and then that impacts his wake up time in the am.....so there is no specific time that he gets up.. i have to wake him at 7:45 to get the kids to school, but some days he is just going back to bed at that time, other times he's been sleeping for awhile.. others he was already awake....

honestly i try and get something together, but it so crazy... it's not like he gets tired after an hour or two of being awake... i just got him down and that was after he was awake for 5 1/2 hours, and wasn't really that tired till i fed him.. other times he can sleep and be awake for 1 hour and be tired again..i've kept track, and there is absolutly no pattern... i'm getting so frustrated, and he will not take a bottle, so i really can not get away... that is a whole different issue.... i feel like i just need a break.

sorry... just really tired after the aweful night... and frustrated that i can not get him on any sort of feeding or sleeping schedule... 3

sorry girls... just needed a little vent..

kim- hope that the kids do better tonight with out the swaddle... gavin never liked it as he always had his fingers or hamd in his mouth... maybe they'll get used to te hitting, and can stay together a little longer... sorry about the car and ticket... that sucks!!!!!!!!

kim- i forgot to say.... if they can hold their heads up, you can try the exersaucer....put them in there, and see if they can stable themselves... you'll be able to tell if they are ready... if they are not, they will slump forward or backward... gavin just loves the jumperroo... they have different hight settings, so it might be the lowest one works the best... go for it and have fun...

Good Afternoon Girls....

Well I'm so excited we're off to see Van Halen tonight.... good times ahead!

Colleen- I'm so sorry to hear that Gavin bit you... I couldn't even imagine the pain. Hopefully he'll learn soon enough that he can't do that or at least start to take a bottle for you... good luck. I'm also sorry to hear that you had a bad night last night... hopefully Gavin will get on a schedule for you very soon. Just remember that we're always hear to listen and offer any advice.

Casy- sorry to hear that DD hit Joshua... hopefully she'll start to accept him and be nice to him.

Kim- I'm so sorry to hear your day was horrible yesterday - however, it can only get better now. Well we stopped swaddling Aubrey about a month ago - now she just likes to be covered w/ her blanket. I tired using her comforter the other night, but she got way to hot (she's a sweater)... so we just use a light blanket. However, when we walk into her room in the morning the blanket is usually in the corner of the crib or under her body... she's a kicker. Well hopefully your little ones can stay in the same crib w/ each other for a little while longer. I wonder if that will be hard on them when you finally split them up... I'm sure they can sense when the other one isn't around. Also when Aubrey is in the exersaucer we place a pillow under her feet since she has short legs... and we also place a pillow behind her back so she doesn't wobble to much... she's pretty padded in there. However, try it like Collen said and you'll notice right away if they like it or not.

Well Aubrey is doing much better... her cold seems to have gone away which is good. I felt so bad for her... also this Saturday night will be her first overnight at Grandma's house - Grandma is so excited... we're also heading to the pumpkin farm on Sunday - I'll make sure to take plenty of pictures.

Well back to work before I cut out early... for the concert!

PS- how are all the other baby's doing?

Tasha
