dancinnancy- I'm pretty close to you are. We have to make sure we can get all the forms, etc. done and learn how to do the shots. Re thinks we can get it all done by Oct 26th, which is when I'd start Lupron. My parents know (they're actually paying for it- yes, I realize how lucky we are!), I'll tell my sister and brother also. My boss and another co-worker (pretty close friends with both of them) know too. My boss b/c I have to take days off of work and being a teacher that means finding a sub, and my coworker b/c she had trouble too so she's been my person who knows a little bit about what I'm going through. DH won't tell his family. Don't know why, but he won't. 2 of his sisters live locally, the other 3 siblings and his parents live far away. His mom is vey sweet though- not aggressive at all. But he doesn't want to tell them anything so that's his decision. Hopefully, this will be successful and then I don't if everyone knows we did it through IVF!
I'll keep you posted on our timeline!

stephanievt97-
We have a lot in common - I'm a teacher too! A good friend that I work with recently went through a (very) successful IVF procedure. She is actually out on bed rest with twins & I miss her dearly. She knows about our IVF & so does my principal...she paved the way for me on that one...she let him know the process step by step - he knows more about IVF than he wants to! So it wasn't that awkward when I clued him in that DH and I would be going through the same process as my good friend/co-worker. Luckily, our insurance covers IVF 100%, so we definitely count our blessings every day for that!
I think I said in my last post that I'd be starting the Lupron on the 28th, but I'll actually be starting on the 27th. Dh and I had an appt last week to get the tutorial on doing the injections. I'm just nervous I'll screw up the process somehow, although it does seem somewhat dummie-proof - good thing because I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed! She only showed us the Lupron & Gonal -F pen ... but I'm pretty sure after the transfer we'll (I'll) need to do the progesterone injections too. Our nurse at school actually ended up giving my good friend her progesterone injections b/c they're not sub-cutaneous (sp?) short little needles, they are the longer needles (inter-muscular?). So, if dh is a little nervous doing that for me, I know that I can turn to her to shoot me up!

keep me posted on when you are starting lupron!

We are pretty similiar right now! I also have 10-12 follies, more active on my right side..it's just that my ER is a day later than yours! Let us know how it goes tomorrow!!
Mimi77, looks like you are moving right along! Good luck with the stims, and I know what you mean about having to talk yourself into each one :o
I'm getting where I just do it quick because the more I think about it, and stare at it, the harder it is!! Let us know how your u/s goes!!

kellym, I am in Richmond. It's nice to see another BCer here.
Well, my cycle was just cancelled yesterday. I was on day 9 of injections (highest dose) and only made 2 eggs. :(

I was given the hcg shot and went and did a IUI today. I am so depressed. Apparently there is a more "aggressive" option for us, but I don't meet with the clinic on this until next Thursday. If anyone has any idea what this may be, I would really appreciate your experience.

Beaner, I have been through 9 IVF cycles (1 was cancelled and 1 was converted to an IUI) so I am very familiar with the way you are feeling right now. It is tough. I don't remember hearing about these possibilities during my IVF 'training' session.
What protocol were you on. They typically start you on the long protocol which is lupron (or suprefact or something other brand) to down regulate you. This protocol didn't work well for me as I am considered a poor responder. My most successful cycles were the ones on the antagonist protocol where they start you on stims and then once your follies are 1.4 in size they start you on the antagonist (cetrotide, orgalutran) which holds off ovulation. Perhaps that is what they mean by more aggressive? I was always on a high dose of stims too.
We just finished another round (I am on my 2ww) and I only produced 5 eggs this time but 3 fertilized and all were excellent quality so we transferred all three. It is quality not quantity so hopefully they can get you up to 5 ot 6 your next round.
I switched clinics half way through this process and the changes seem to have made a huge difference to my quality. I was no longer put on bcp to time my cycle - my clinic just works around the start of each person's cycle - and I started acupuncture. So, now most of my fertilized eggs are grade 1 quality which is great!
Best of luck to you in your 2ww. When do you test?

Kellym - 9 IVF cycles. Oh my god. I don't think I could do 9. I really, really wish you well this time around.
I am not sure what protocol I was on. This board is the first time I have heard the term protocol. I did Synarel on day 22 of previous cycle, then once AF came, I did 75 iu of Repronex and 225 iu of Bravelle.
My appt with clinic is next Thursday so I will get more info then. This is al so new to me, I don't really know what I should be asking them. I had also done accupuncture 2x week for the past 3 months.
I test on Nov 1. How about you?

Well today was my ER, and they "harvested" :D 23 eggs!! More than they thought, they are thinking probably 15 are more mature. At the last minute my Dr. decided we may want to consider ICSI, not because of my DH sperm, but because we have unexplained fertility, and just in case we have a fertilization issue, might as well give it a try. So ET either Saturday or Monday for us!

Right on Melinda on your ER as well!!!! :D
Wish everyone the very best! Now I'm ready for a quick nap after this big day :P [/quote]

way to go melinda! good luck with xfer, it sounds like you have a great chance of getting quite a few great embies! keep us posted. make sure you let your re know if you continue to be so sore, i don't think you should still be sore.

faith hope love, 23 eggs, you're kidding?! that's great! any more news on the progress of the embies?

beaner, here's to hoping for a bfp. it just takes one and hopefully you had a good there and don't have to go through all this again.

how are the rest of you girls doing...getting ready to start shots?

things here are fine. i go in tomorrow for first u/s and i'm excited and neverous to see what's going on. it would be really nice to have 10 eggs, but i don't know. my lt ovary doesn't really respond and my rt. had that cyst on it this month, hoping it didn't interfer.

thinking about all of you.

OH MELINDA:), I feel your pain. My ER was only yesterday, and I to am sore. It mostly hurts if I sit down too quick, or get up too quick, and hurts right after I get up until I move around a bit. It eases up but still hurts.
The Embrologist at my Dr. office called early this morning and had good news! Out of the 23 eggies, 12 fertilized!!! :D They figured 15 were mature so I'm guessing that's a good number. All five ICSI fertilized, and for the standard 8 out of 18 fertilized. (3 fertilized abnormal/7 not at all). My Dr's office will call Sat. morning to let us know if it's a 3 day ET or 5.

mimi77, please let us know how your ultrasound goes tomorroW1 Here's to 10 eggs!!
Melinda:) Good luck on your transfer!!
My DH did his first PIO shot on me this morning. Poor guy, he was so nervous!! I didn't tell him it burned a bit when the needle was in....he really would have freaked out!!!
Take care everyone!!!
