welcome Eimear2, good luck on the wait! That is torture in itself! start planning stuff to do to pamper yourself.

Christie, as for the shots, my doctor is being a stickler for going to the 12th week. I have til Thanksgiving probably before I can finally stop. I think they don't trust the other forms of progesterone just because they know the shots work. I guess my butt will have to be sore a little longer!

Thanks ingrid for the maternity clothes site! I haven't even thought of that yet! You still have another month or so before starting your next cycle?

I'm right there with Christie and Kelly, my doctor still has me on progesterone oil and will keep me on it through the 11th week. I go through about a vial per week as I take 1cc each night. Sore tush but pregnant so i can't complain. :-)

don't worry the 2ww do come to an end and it feels to good to just have information so you can decide what to do next.

Good luck everyone. Stay sane and happy.

Congrats Christie....I'm just sooooooooooo happy for you! And thanks for thinking of all of us unfortunate ladies who didn't get their BFP this time, despite getting your wonderful news! Good luck with your beta...woke up thinking of you! : )

Kelly congrats on seeing the little sac...did they see a heartbeat or was it too early still?

Lisa...wow...congrats on your twins.

Eimear...hope your 2ww goes ok..I found it very hard...tears are normal...just give yourself lots of TLC...you deserve it!

Tilly...how exciting...lots of positive visualisation...it may be to do with meds, but usually its related to the progesterone which presumable your not taking....hope its a miracle BFP for you!!! Keep us posted.

To everyone else a big hello....how is donnell, donna?

I am ok...a bit exhausted, thinking alot about how I want to move forward, will change clinic and prob atart treatment in Jan/Feb time...not sure yet-need to arrange an appt with clinic first to find out what they want us to do. Scared and nervous is how I feel!!

Anyway have a lovely weekend girls

Nerms,

Yes, we saw a very faint little pulsation for the heartbeat...pretty early yet to see much, the baby looked like a tiny little white line...so cool!

It's such a hard thing thinking of your next course of action, I actually almost didn't even go thru with this IVF, we were paying so much money as it was and we got double charged for one of my scans and some other things and I had a breakdown in the car on the way home, I cried and screamed and hated myself for not being able to get pregnant.. then talked to dh seriously about not doing it, mostly I was starting to get so stressed by month after month nothing happening that I was mentally ready to quit ...thinking if it didn't happen this time I wouldn't be able to take it...boy am I glad I changed my mind now! It's like, how do you know when to quit or perhaps move to the adoption route....and then your like... hell I went this far I might as well keep going...I know you all know exactly what I'm saying.

I think if your emotions can handle it, it's worth it to give it one more shot even if you tell yourself its the last time. I was also to the point where I felt like infertility had taken over our lives and it's all I could think of... and I know there is more to life than this, but it's something you have to go thru I guess.

I go in again on Oct. 25th for the "viability appointment" they want to see that heartbeat stronger.

I hope you guys are all doing well and I'm praying that whatever you decide to do you can get thru all the emotions and see that BFP at the end!

Just a quick update. My beta was 864. I have no idea what that means. I'm 18 dpo, I believe. I'll check back later today. I'm at a friend's house and just had to let you ladies know. I'm so excited!!! They told me I am going on Crinone(sp?) starting tomorrow. No more shots!!! Yay!

Hello Girls!

Post by albany07 »

Happy weekend to all!!!!

Wow Christie - that is a pretty high beta - which day do they usually get beta's on? I think it is 14 days after transfer... that # may sound like twins???? I hope so and keeping my 2 fingers crossed!!!

Nerms - you strong lady! Kudos and just know, everything will turn out just fine.

I hope everyone is doing very well!

Lisa - congrats, we needed some twins around here.

Me? I am getting ready to call my dr. today or tommorow. I have not had AF since I stopped the Lupron Sept. 10th or 11th? AF was due on October 8th - and I am calling for her!!!! Is this normal? What does all this mean? If anyone can give me some insight (those who had experience with stopping a cycle during lupron) that would be great. I am trying not to get my hopes up - even though BFP would be quite impossible... DH and I did "it" the weekend of the 21st during our stay in Wisconsin Dells (family oriented vacation hub of Wisconsin).

I am sorry if I have missed many or a couple... My regards and best wishes to a fun filled weekend! Plenty of Margaritas for those of us who still can! Milk for those who can't! LOL!

Ok, I'm home now. I'm still in shock at my #. It seems high to me, but my clinic tests later than others. I had my transfer 2 weeks ago yesterday. I'm can't wait to see what it is on Mon.

Nerms,
That's good that you want to move forward. Jan./Feb. will be here before you know it. The holidays will make time fly by. I'm sure you still must be very sad and it is completly understandable that you are scared and nervous. This whole process is so stressful. I'll be checking in on you to see what happens.

Kelly,
That is so amazing that you got to see the heartbeat. I can't wait. I know what you mean about not knowing how many times you should go through this. This was our 1st IVF, but I kept saying that I didn't know how many I could go through. It's a tough decision. I think you just know when it's time to move on.

Ingrid,
I don't know if that is normal or not. I know my friend had her cycle canceled and it took her a while to get her period. She was late while she was on Lupron to begin with, so I don't know if it was just her body. I got my period right on time when I started the Lupron. It doesn't hurt to give them a call. That's what they are there for. Please have a margarita for me. I'm going to miss them :) I was just thinking how nice it would be to have a glass of wine tonight. Duh, I keep forgetting. So weird.

I'm going to keep checking in on you ladies to see what happens. Who is testing next?

Wow - look at all the BFPs and twins, I am so excited for you all. I have been keeping quiet. My beta is down to zero and I start BCP again. I got my date for FET - it is Nov 30th. The last day of the month....I was hoping it would be sooner, but I will be OK. Just part of the waiting game.

Anyway....I read the thread everyday and I am watching for all of your BFP's, doubling numbers and U/S. It is just hard to keep up with everyone, especially since I am not one of the ones who had a successful IVF cycle. I feel a little out of sorts.

I am thinking of each of you. Take care and lots of sticky baby dust for you all.

Oh, Donnell, I'm thinking of you too. I just know it will work for you. You just have to keep the faith. I know it must seem impossible to do right now, but I'm sure you'll be willing to do it all again. I just takes some women longer than others. Good luck. I'll be checking on you.

question

Post by carolina1girl1 »

Has anyone ever gotten a +hpt but not really pregnant? As with many of you ladies i couldn't wait. I tested wed and got avery faint line then tested fri and got a light line but very visible and tested again today and was even darker. Kinda scared to believe it. I go to the doctor tomorrow, and i am really scared the blood test will be -....Does anyone have any insight?
I have read about a chemical pregnancy making it a false.. I am driving myself crazy here!!! Everyone keeps saying "just wait until tomorrow" but the damage is done (lol) i already took the stupid tests!!! Well thanks in advance for any advice and listening to me vent...

Melanie, it looks like a BFP to me. The reason that the test could be positive and then the blood test in negative, is when the hcg isn't out of your system from the shot. If it's been more than 10 days since you took that shot, it is probably for real. Let us know how the blood test goes tomorrow. I go for my 2nd beta tomorrow. Good luck!!!

Hi ladies...just a qick note as I'm getting late for work! : )

Melanie..just wanted to say..gen you get more false negs than you do fals positives...so odds are in your favou....we're so used to expecting the worst that your mind is trying to prepare you....embrace your excitement and take one moment at a time...right now the moment is it's a BFP....so feel happy....just a little maybe but still be happy! All the best with your test today!

WIll check in later after work!

Melanie,
I'm so sorry. I thought for sure it was a BFP. Did they explain why the tests were saying +? Maybe a chemical? I feel horrible. Sorry you had to wait so long. That is the worst part, waiting. Good luck to you and dh, no matter what you decide to do next.

I went for my 2nd beta today and it was 3363. I'm 21 dpo. I'm not sure if that is high or not. The nurse just said it was a good #. I go next Wed. for my first u/s. I'll only be 6 weeks and a couple days pregnant. I can't wait. Is anyone else testing soon?
