Transferred 2 4-cell embies today - please give me hope!

Post by kellym »

I had my ET today and they transferred 2 4-cell 3-day embies. Has anyone had 4 cell embies transferred and got a BFP? This is my 7th round and my last with my eggs so I am hoping this works but am worried that the 4 cell embryos aren't going to make it!

Any success stories would be great!

Thanks!

Cells?

Post by stephjim »

I have not done IVF yet, I have been doing IUI, but how many cells is typical for an egg that would take properly?

My understanding is that day 1 is 2 cell, day 2 is four cell and day 3 is 8 cell. So my embies should have been 6-8 cells today.
The RE today told me that ICSI can cause the embryos to be slightly behind but it really doesn't matter so long as it continues to develop. I am putting all my hope behind that!
Best of luck to you.

Hi

I had two embies transferred on day 3 one a 4 cell which looked like it had arrested, and one only a cell which they said was a "slow starter". They told us to expect the worst and I remember almost giving up hope. 12 days later we got a BFP and our baby is due this weekend - ANYTHING is possible...just don't give up hope!

Good luck!

Hi Stressball,
Yup that is me. The RE wasn't sure that the sperm fragmentation was a problem because we are doing ICSI. Who knows - the research says something different. He suggested we try a double transfer this time in case my implantation window is skewed. So, I transferred 2 yesterday and I am going to transfer another one tomorrow. So, who knows. Fingers crossed.
How are things with you?

Hi

It's a good while ago I had my ivf (my daughter is now 4) but I still check this site from time to time. I had 5 years unexplained infertility, we had ivf and I had 2 4-cell embies transferred. One didn't work but the other resulted in my beautiful baby daughter. There is hope.

Fingers crossed for you.

P.s. following my ivf, I didn't use contraception and then found myself pregnant 8 months later, naturally, with twins! My boys are now nearly 3. It can happen for some people. Honest...

luv
