Hyperthyroid and IVF

Has anyone ever heard of the drugs we take for IVF causing Hyperthyrodism? I was getting tested to start IVF #4 and found that my thyroid is screwed up. I'm tracking down an endocrinologist to start getting if fixed. I'm just wondering if all the drugs I've taken over the past 2 years contributed to the issue.

Hi Kaw, I was tested for this before i started treatment and came back as borderline, so was put on the medication and it took nearly a year to stabilise my condition. I seemed to be a bit of a freak on this, most people seem to be controlled easily. I hope you get sorted soon, and wish you all the best for the future.

Hi BeachBaby, thank you for the response. I am going to see an endo on Monday so we'll see what they say. According to my recent bloodwork I've got hyperthyroid...hopefully they can fix it quick. We'll see what they say but I still wonder if all the IVF drugs I've taken made this happen. Take care, KAW
