Starting Lupron Oct 16th, too.

Post by ann d. »

Hello,

I am also starting tomorrow on Lupron. This is my first IVF cycle. I'm nervous, anxious, and excited all at the same time. I have an ultrasound tomorrow morning to make sure all is going as planned. I have been looking for a place to discuss this procedure when I saw your post. What a coincidence!

Hi there... it seems that we are all starting around the same time. I will need people to chat with throughout the process. I am not familiar with the acronyms that you are using. What does BFP, DH, and BFN stand for?

:D Hi ladies! I'm about to start my first IVF cycle and begin lupron shots on Oct 16th also.....my egg retrieval is scheduled for November 7th. I am very excited and nervous. Obviously I'm hoping I'm one of the lucky few that doesn't have to go through this whole process over and over. I wish you all lots of luck and I'd love to keep in touch with others on a similar schedule to mine.

Lupron and Ultrasound

Post by ann d. »

Nicaliw... looks like we're on the same schedule! My egg retrieval is scheduled for Nov 7th, too. Just took my first Lupron injection tonight. I get so nervous when I'm doing these injections. (I've had to give myself Follistim shots since I've done IUI cycles.) This is my first IVF though. Like you, I hope this will be successful the first time around.

Thank you smb457 and ICSI girl for the help on the acronyms!

I will have to say that I have a very supportive husband, but this has been stressful on our marriage. I think he blames himself for us not getting pregnant. (He has a low count.) I keep telling him that this our problem and our infertility might be due to other factors that we are not aware of, but I can only say this so many times. I don't think he believes me. Anyone experiencing similar issues?? Thanks and good luck to everyone!!

Hey everyone,

So, last night I gave myself my first lupron shot and was amazed that I ddn't feel a thing. I also started dexamethasone, does anyone else take that? It gave me crazy thoughts when I was going to sleep last night but I don't remember any bad dreams. Is this a common side effect?

Ann D, I'm excited to know of someone on the exact same schedule for ER! Way cool.

Hey ladies,
I started lupron on the 15th and will be starting gonal-f on the 25th!
I believe my retrieval is 11/3 and transfer is 11/7!

I am 30 years old and the doctor said he will transfer 2 embryos. I believe he will do a 3 day transfer.

Are you going to do accupuncture? I hear that the odds are so much better. Its 500 dollars though!!!!

Anyway, I hope we all get BFP's ... just think we should know one month from today if we are pregors!

acupuncture

Post by jenilu »

gekasbaby - I have heard a lot of good things about acupuncture but the doctors in my area do not have openings until after my retreival/transfer dates and they said that they would recommend a series of treatments for them to be effective (cost here is around $160 per visit). Lupron shots are going well, I have my first ultrasound and E2 on October 26 and if everything is okay then I will start the Follistim and Menopur on October 28. Then my next ultrasound is November 1. I am excited and nervous and the same time, I really pray that it works again for us so my son can have a sibling. I trust my doctor completely and above all God. Blessings to all.

Started Lupron on Oct 15th

Post by canbodia »

I'm so happy to be reading this thread. I'm reading the replies with tears in my eyes because i've been feeling like alone, and I'm tired of explaining this process that I'm barely grasping.

I started the Lupron on the 15th, My egg retrieval is scheduled for Nov 9th, and the transfer is on the Nov 14th (guesstimate).

This is my first and hopefully only cycle. I'm so excited and nervous.

I'm really excited about stopping the BC pills, because I can feel my mood shifting back from

You ladies are in my prayers.

Hey everyone, just wondering how you are all feeling so far? Ann D, are your shots going well, do you have any side effects??? I am not feeling any side effects from the lupron except for sore boobs (which I already had from the birth control pill) and I'm maybe a bit more weepy. I hope this is not a bad thing like its not working for me. I am so excited it is about all I can think about day and night, I even dream about it. I'm so ready to get things going, I need to learn a little patinence I think.

Hi everyone! I start Lupron on Friday. We meet with the dr to discuss details. You take it the same time everyday, right? Because of the side effects, is it best to do in the evening so you sleep afterwards or in the am?

Thanks and good luck to us all!
