Hi Guys -

OMG Chrstin triplets - you must be so pleased - scared and happy :D

Kelly - twins for ytou too - this was definitely a lucky thread for you two :D

Hows everyone else??

Had a s*** day yesterday went to fiends who have just had first baby (well he is about 8 weks old now) - the two DH went out to pub to watch footaball and then managed to wangle the rugby as well and I was left with proud mother telling me how life changing it is to have a baby and how wonderful it is and you don't know what you are missing - for nearly 5 f****** hours - When told DH he said should have just told her about IVF - could not bear to - she is just obsseeive or is it just me thats super sensitive??

Who knows - but will need to be emotionally stronger before see them again

Take care lovelies

Oh Carolyn,

I go through this every bloody time also. People wanting us to come and see the baby. Making me change the nappy... Telling me to hold the baby and it might "rub off"...giving me baby books and subjecting me to 7 week ultrasound pictures and DVDs... AND THEY KNOW ABOUT OUR IVF!! It doesn't matter. The general fertile public have no idea and think that it will "happen in time". Yeh yeh just relax. Didn't help when we got pg naturally just before heading away on holiday and they then all assumed it was because we were on holiday and "relaxed". I've given up expecting anyone to be sensitive and considerate anymore. I just avoid them all now. Quite frankly, I don't think a new Mum wants to hear about our fertility struggles and I spent a day with my best friend 5 days after my last failed IVF and chemical pregnancy, with her telling me how depressed she was (with her 7 month old baby in her arms) as it had "finally hit her that her baby came 10 weeks early" and the trauma of it all had caught up with her now. The baby never had any problems and is fine, so I'd be counting my lucky stars, wouldn't you! Yet, she sat there close to tears, fully knowing I had lost 2 babies, ttc for 5 years, organized her baby shower during my first failed IVF, and not once did she say "how are you?". I was stunned and left and went out and got rip roaringly drunk. I felt insignificant and shocked.

So..I understand. I think we all do.

Adoption is already proving to be a headache as I expected. We have a 2 day pre-adoption seminar this week. DH is not thrilled about having to pay yet another $500 in our quest to have a baby and to be assessed to see if we make "good parents". It's just so tough. I got a call from the case worker saying we are ineligible to adopt from China now as DH has not completed 12 years of schooling. The other 2 countries require you to be a practising christian and that just about leaves Bolivia, of which the waiting lists are long and arduous. I'm scared that this is going to lead to as much disappointment but I have to do something. What a crazy world.

Lots of love to everyone. Hang in there Carolyn.

Hi again ladies,

Carolyn, we are doing a FET when next AF arrives which should be sometime this week. Then we go away for 8 days and when I get back we should start the blood tests. We are doing a natural FET (no drugs) and putting back 2. Will wait and see but honestly haven't given it a 2nd thought. I treat FETs with the same hope of getting pg as naturally - about 9% but we'll soldier on and not leave any stone unturned. I have abandoned PMA. I deal with things better when I don't have any expectation. At least we have the wheels in motion and are moving fwd with adoption.

Good luck with your RE appt. I hope there are some answers for you!
Have fun on your holiday... just relax OK! ha ha

CONGRATS on the twins!!! How excited are you and DH??? When do you go back for another scan?

I was 7 weeks this past friday. In terms of the HCG, he stopped telling me that about two weeks ago, bc it was so high. He said there was no reason for him to continue checking it bc he knew it was fine. In terms of my last HCG, it was around 5,000 at 16dp5dt. I think after a little while, the hcg does start to slowly increase, as opposed to doubling every two days or so. I think it starts getting hard to project out or predict. Did your RE give youany indication of whether he thought it was low?

I have been going to the RE every friday since my pregnancy test. They do u/s and b/w everytime. So I get to watch them develop! I think I am going to have my last appt with RE this friday...I will miss the clinic. I go to my OB on the 23rd.

I am still trying to get used to our news....i am not sure if I can really get used to it.

Dex
I am excited about your decison with the FET and adoption. I think your PMA is good....you arent giving up!!!

Carolyn
I am so sorry to hear about your experience on Saturday. I agree with your DH, I would have had to tell her about IVF, just to shut her up. :(

How is everyone else?

:D Hey Everyone!!!!

Christin...WOW!!! Triplets...Good Lord indeed knows who to bless with what...and ofcourse we can't question that. I can understand your mixed feelings. Have a good rest and let people around you pamper you the most. Enjoy these days.

Kelly....Twins!!! I am so happy for you.Take good rest and do everything to make you feel happy. Waiting to hear about your scan. Are you back from Scotland? How was the trip??

Carolyn - Have a blast...sweetheart!! You deserve it before another round of roller-coaster, begin with rejuvenated mind and I am sure it will be BFP this time. I just love your spirits, dear...can't just kick on mine, still I am on back seat.

Dex...I can identify with you in more than one ways. (reasons known!!) Did you go for the antibodies test?? I am thinking of talking abt tht with my doc once I return India. After 3 rounds of IVF...I am feeling completely drained out. When are you planning for your trip to Vegas??

About me - Its been exactly one week since I reached Bahrain. Have been mostly lazying around, meeting up with friends...don't want to discuss my experiences of last few months but...anyways handling it well. Plan to go back by the end of next month...so that I can have my FET cycle in Dec...THINKING ABT MY BABIES IN LAB!! :)

((((HUGS)))) N LOVE TO ALLL...

Hello Everyone

It is so nice to read such happy news on here,

Christin Triplets WOW how amazing your journey is going to be! :D

Kelley Twins for you, you must be so happy! :D

Lala and Kelly a little one each! :D

Seven new lives  they will certainly keep you all very busy!!

Carolyn and Sonu, sorry to hear your news but looking forward to a positive result next time. I know what you mean Carolyn people always in your face with silly comments, they don't know how lucky they are! Fortunately my family all know what we have been through so they are more sensitive, and I don't get asked endlessly when are you going to have a family your body clock is ticking on you know!! Arrrggghhh  I don't think we are super sensitive although everywhere I look there are pregnant women or new born babies even in the most unlikliest of places who knows maybe we are at times :?

Dex glad you had a nice break, you have a good attitude go with the flow, and see what comes. Not long for you now to start again. The adoption process is as emotional as the IVF process!! We looked into adopting from abroad and it is so time consuming and expensive! There are so many children sitting in cots day in day out and so many people who want to care for them you would think they would make it a bit easier!! Your right we live in a crazy world!!

About me , haven't been on for a while as retreated to a bit of a dark place for a short time, once the shock had worn off about the reality of IVF not working for me I suddenly realised the plan of my life had changed dramatically. I am going to return to the clinic and have a chat with the consultant about using donor eggs and donor embryos  funny how your goal posts change over time wasn't even wanting IVF when we first realised we had difficulties!! Now I am considering donors!! Not sure what decision we will make but like you said in your post Dex I don't want to leave any stone unturned. I have been talking to our social worker about adoption, fortunately as we are already advanced foster carers the process will be much shorter than if we are starting from the beginning so there is not a big hurry to get moving with it.
Some days are worse than others but at least my good days are getting better and better!! :D

Hi guys

Went to see Re today - not sure where we go from here - said was on top stength drugs on last stims and only produced 3 follicles so maybe thinks not worth throwing money away at another attempt but to look at donor egg - so we are going to think about it - try and loose a bit of weight and go back in january to discuss further

At moment neither of us can get head round donour egg - read lots on other thread but need to talk.. think .. talk and decide how we move forward from here - also sent off for info on adoption - so covering all options

Take care - any thoughts.. ideas or suggestions appreciated

Much love

Dear Carolyn

I was thinking about you all this while and I have a strong feeling that you should change your clinic and consult another doctor.

Then, ofcourse, adoption is a wonderful option but lets keep it as the last one.

Thinking of u...stilll!!!

Hi Carolyn

I have been doing some more research and reading some of other peoples posts on here and sometimes it seems that women don't react to one stim but react very well to another? Has your consultant used the same stimms with you for each cycle? Maybe it is worth discussing using another type of stim. I am going back to my clinic to discuss it. Did you choose your clinic or are you like me used the clinic you were referred to through the NHS?

Maybe its worth a try?

Hi Lee - no we chosse clinic as we are paying for treatment - going to look around though before next treatment and lose some weight and get ultra fit and then at least we can say we tried everything - been to aqua cisrcuits at gym tonight and am knackered

its just finding time to fit everything in - got demanding job .. active social life .. but want a baby more so just got to sort out priorities - been looking at adoption web sites but it just seems so final and feel we need to at least try a couple more times before we go further with that - just so much to think about  .. life is so unfair - when I think of people I know who pop babies out like peas in a pod, or that maon about there kids or have had abortions ..arggggghhhhh - life is evil at times

feel better for that now - off to bed and working from home tom - so lie in and more relaxed.

take care all - sorry to just moan

Everyone
It has been a long time since this thread has been active. I actually haven't logged on since sometime in October. My first trimester was rough, but I can't complain bc my babies are doing very well and are healthy. I tried finding most of yall to see what is going on, but this Message Board is huge and has so many new ppl now. I would love to hear back from everyone to see how everyone is doing and what your present and future looks like.

I hope all of you are well and have a Merry Christmas!

XOXOXO
