Pregnancy Support Belt?

Post by zach »

Folks,

Any recommendations on the pregnancy support belt?

We are 55% of the way through and my wife's back really really hurts. Please do share recommendations about pregnancy support belts if any specific type or brand worked well for you.

I used a Medela support belt. I got it for about $10 at Burlington Coat Factory in the US. But I have seen it retail for up to $30. I loved it and certainly recommend it!

Hope the back is a bit better!!!

I had SPD but was told not to use any kind of belt unless recommended one by a physio after examination as they can do more harm than good... Best to get professional advice first.

Thank you all for your response.

We bought the only available belt at the local store. Her back does feel better with the belt. She uses it more when she's up on her feet. While sitting down, it gets uncomfortable and she takes it off.

I am in the same situation with the back and I use my support belt whenever I am up on my feet. I also take it off when I am sitting as it doesnt feel to good. If you start with it on as soon as you get up and then be faithful to put it on whenever you are up on your feet it works better than waiting until later in the day and then trying to put it on and get rid of the pain. Hope this helps your wife. It is hard on the back with twins!!!
