I am at 11 weeks right now; and also deciding whether or not to do the nuchal test. I have it scheduled, but we are still deciding. It would be good to have peace of mind, but I dont know if we would do further testing if it came back positive. So we just dont know. I need to give it some more thought.

It seems like most everyone on here is going ahead with the testing...Any advice or "words of wisdom" would be great.

Other than that we're doing great. Both babies are growing fine. There is a small bleed from where the placenta was implanting into the uterus; but they said it is getting smaller and didn't seem to concerned. I dont have another OB appt for 4 weeks.

Hi:

WC - You're not scaring anyone away from the boards with posting. I think its just difficult for all of us sick ladies. I know it is for me. The M/S is getting better but now instead of ALL afternoon and into the night I am dry heaving in the morning and then feeling really sick in the evening - yuck.

My nuchal trans testing turned out fine with the U/S but I am not at all happy with the 1:5300 for downs AND all they said about Trisomy is that the results were "good". The nurse said that the fact that its twins makes it mroe difficult to read the results in comparison to that of a single they err on the side of caution. Either way the ONLY other test I will have will be the blood work for spina bifida. Also, WHAT IS A FULL BODY SCAN? It that of YOU or the baby? What does it tell you?

I agree that all should really have the NT test because it does help to give you some peace of mind and if, forbid, it doesn't turn out as positive as you would hope you can then make decisions about how to care for the baby when its born. I just don't believe in abortion no matter what the reason.

Anyone feeling their baby(ies)? I am yet my uterus cramps into a hard ball quite a lot and stays that way for extended periods of time. These babies are A LOT more quiet than was my son. He was all over the place but these babies are really sleepy and don't roll around like he did.

I am off the PIO shots but on prometrium. My doc prescibed them for the duration of the pregnancy at one every 6 hours which would put me at 4 a day but I just can't seem to do more than 3 a day because I go to sleep early so OH well...

I have to leave right now for the lab for bloods (the whole work-up) so I'll try to write later. I have a lot of projects I have to get done before the babies too that I want to start this weekend.

OH, just one more thing before I leave... my co-workers figured it out and now know I am pregnant (we sat together for training ALL week so they watched my strange eating habits and saw me close up). I LOOK five months pregnant so its a wonder they didn't notice before.

Yeay!!!! WC you and I are in our FOURTH MONTH!!! - How cool is THAT!?!?!?

hello ladies,

just lying in bed on a very wet saturday morning and thought i would check in and say hello.

I'm hitting the big 12 week mark on Monday and very pleased to be there. there were times that I never thought we'd make it and I'm still petrified but happy that the risks are lower now. I have my n/f test on Monday - I'm going mainly because I want to see our babies!! I haven't seen them since 10 weeks and need the reassurance that tey are still there!! I hope we don't have to think about further testing after that as I know I couldn't terminate the pregnancy.

I'm now unable to fit into my jeans so dressing is an issue! I may have to give in and go and buy some maternity pants afterall. So far I've only put on 2lbs but that seems to be all in my boobs and my now slightly rounded tummy. I'm actually looking forward to it getting big now!! am sure I'll regret that statement!!

"coming" out at work next week - will be a relief to tell people and have them understand if I have to go and puke half way through a meeting!!

Cocoa, your M/S sounds like mine - lots of dry heaving in teh morning and full on awfulness in teh evening. Is anyone else burping the whole time too? I sound like an old man and often have gastric reflux but it also seems to help relieve the nausea.

OK, must get up and be productive.

love to you all XXX

Hi ladies:

I know it has been a moment, but I've been a wreck waiting for my 8w ultrasound, which happened today. Thankfully, both twins look great and are measuring 17.3 and 17.8 mm (both with HBs above 150bpm). Whew! Now, I just need to get to the 12w mark. It is amazing how nervous one gets after going through what many of us have gone through -- I had very little of this with my natural pregnancy.

In any event, no MS, but lots of indigestion and I feel like I'm blowing up like a baloon already. Didn't show anything until 5 months last time. But I look like I'm about 4-5 mos prego now. Still trying to keep it a secret from the office (wearing lots of loose clothing, but the pants are killing me these days). I can't believe Rebecca has only gained 2 lbs!!!!!!

Tonight is my 1st wedding anniversary so I must keep my post short. The hubby is prepping a romantic dinner (awwww). Hope all of you are well and so excited to hear that many of you have reached your 12w mark. Congrats!

The wait for the 8 week scan was the worst ever! I was so sure the baby wouldn't be there anymore.....but now up to 13 weeks.

I just had my scan today and everything is looking good and even waved at me, how cool is that! I came away with 9 photos for my album. Baby is sitting up with legs crossed and hands together, perhaps praying!!!

I finally feel I can relax and enjoy being pregnant, and fortunately with no m/s to contend with I am really enjoying it.

I received aparcel from a friend today with some books, leaflets and a couple of maternity tops (which are not my taste!) But what a lovely thought.

A woman my husband knows, stopped me in the street and asked if I wanted her 3-in-1 pram, open to offers......I hate things being open to offer, what if I really offended her and said ok £50 and she had paid £800+ for it!!!!!!

Lovely to hear how you are all getting along, and no woodcliff I am not sick of you at all....but I guess by the time we reach April/May then will be a few thousand pages to browse through!

Hello Guys,
I am so glad that everybody is doing great!!!!
I had my nuchal test today and let me tell you it was a major pain in the butt!!!! We couldn't get the baby to get into the right position because apparetly i have a tilted uterus, it kinda tilts to the back ( which explains why i am not showing yet, i am carrying the baby all the way in the back).
So I had to actually run back and forth and jump up an down the hallway in order to get the baby to change the position, but it didn't work, so after one hour trying to pinch my stomack and everything else the tech gave up and told me to come back in 2 hours.
I had lunch and a lollypop, in order to get some sugar going in hopes that it would make a difference, and it actually did, after about another hour of trying she was able to snap a couple of quick pictures of the baby's neck and said that it looked good but they read the results with the blood test together and it will be ready in a week, so I have to wait now.
I have a feeling that this baby is going to be a high maintanence :D , during the US the little one closed his or her face with the arms and at the end just turned the back on us!!! Talking about difficult personality
Oh and my new OB said that she is not concerned at all that i have not gained any weight so far, she said that up to 20 weeks she doesn't care if i do or not, after 20 weeks is more important, but it is different with twins i am sure.
So, my due date is May 1st but i will probably have my baby a week earlier because i am going to have a scheduled c section ( i hope i am not offending anybody with my decision, i know that some people are against c sections)
Woodcliff, Rebecca, Cocoa, Babyb, Mandy, Hayley , and everyone else tha i am forgetting to mention, I am so so happy for you guys and i wish you the best of luck!!!!!
Vlada :D
PS oh and i guess the blood in my uterus is gone or at least the techs couldn't see blood, so i am happy with that. :D

Mandy: Congrats on getting to the 13w marker. While I know I'll be worried until I have healthy little ones in my arms, I think I will enjoy the pregnancy more once I get to the 12w mark myself. I was so frightened about the 8w scan for some reason. Next milestone is my 10w scan and then the Nuchal Test, which brings me to . . . .

Vlada: HOW FUNNY! I know it probably wasn't humorous at the time, but jumping and running down the halls in retrospect is funny -- you have to admit. Add to this a stubborn little nugget who felt the need for some privacy and you have a nice comedy. As high maintenance as you think your little one might be now, I bet the fortunate irony will be that he/she will end up being a completely low maintenance little angel.

On the weight gain issue, I don't think I have really put on much, if any. HOWEVER, I'm about 7 lbs more than I was at this time 2 years ago with my first pregnancy (which bums me out). I'm on my healthy pregnancy diet (no sugars and only complex carbs like brown rice, whole grain bread, etc.) and haven't really dropped anything. My first pregnancy, I lost a few pounds the first trimester doing this. Don't get me wrong, I want to eat a lot to feed my babies. I just wish I could lose the excess fat on my thighs and hips from my first pregnancy before entering a new one. I should be able to do this AND eat all the healthy stuff my babies need (skipping on the junk).

Hmmmm, let's see, what else? My cat just let out a reallly really big fart! YUCK! Didn't think such a horrible smell could come from such a little critter.

OK, enough for now. Hope you are all well.
