FET 2WW

Post by jenni_k »

Hi everyone!
I'm back again after a short time off the board. Well I'm officially in the 2ww again on a FET. We transferred 4 embryos. We had 5 frozen, 1 didn't make it. I'm not feeling overly positive about the outcome as we only had 1 great embryo, the other 3 were as the RE stated "iffy". We will be back to square one if this doesn't work. I must say the wait this time isn't as stressful as the first time. I think for me the disappointment of the first time kind of prepared me this time.

I'd love to hear others stories of FET and how many were transferred and the quality.

Wishing lots of babydust!!!!

Hi Jenni,
I am also in my 2ww from a FET on 10/4. We used donated embryos for this!! 7 were thawed and only three made it and was told were good quality. All three were implanted. This is such a difficult time isn't it? How are you holding up?

DH 38 – Azoospermia
Me 36 – Uknown issue now

You are so right! This is a very difficult time. At least your hubby is willing to use donor eggs. The RE said that my eggs grew very quickly almost too quickly during the protocol and this could have compromised the quality. He said if the protocol is changed next time and we yield the same results then maybe I have an egg quality problem as well. Very nerve-racking!

No one really discusses this on the board, but I've also notice how hard infertility is on your marriage. The stress and emotions sometimes is overwhelming. My hubby has two children from his first marriage so I think for me it makes it harder to know he has children with someone else. I know realistically we can't do IVF forever because we can't afford to and my hubby refuses to adopt or use any donors so this just adds to the stress.

How are you hanging in there?

I'm also in the 2ww. 3 transferred yesterday and I'm going crazy! This is our fourth IVF cycle. We had two in 2003/2004- daughter born in 04! My last IVF was March of 06- and I am finally trying again even after cancelled cycle in August. My embryos transferred were two 5's and a 6. I thought I understood the quality rating, but now I'm scared b/c 5 and 6 seem not so great????

hi ladies,

I just had my first FET last friday. Wanted to transfer 2 but sadly, one didnt make it. So just one Grade I 8-cell embryo and testing on 2 Nov.

I'm also not too hopeful but trying to stay as positive as ever, as it depends not just on embryo quality but also lining and what have you. But as everyone who has been very enouraging keeps telling me, "you only need one!"

I think the worst feeling I've got was during the period where we did IUIs (all 4 failed naturally) and friends around were getting PG like nobody's business. The self-blaming, guilt and all really put a toll on the relationship, but I have to say DH has always been very supportive and is definitely more positive than I am. I suppose after going through 4 failed 2WW and countless HPTs, I've learnt to expect very little, maybe even a little pessimistic. Oh well, let's hope it ends here and everyone gets a BFP!

Good luck for anyone testing this week and keep the positive vibes flowing.
