Faithand hope~ CONGRATS!!! Maybe you will be more of the double trouble page in the future! :D I use to live in Atlanta. Where abouts do you live? ? When I was there I lived and worked in Buckhead. Love that city!

Let's hope the babies are off to a very restful night! The day has been great although they seem to be eating every 2.5 hours today. Makes me wonder if they are getting enough?? It's always something isn't it? Maybe I will pop into our Pediatricians office and weigh them for some well needed reassurance. Anyone ever worry about this??

Kim~ How was the Baptism? Photos!!!!! Report back! :D

Have a great night everyone!

Kholtan-I would be thrilled to have twins!!! I have been reading all of you and the other ladies' posts on Double Trouble and they are so fun to read and see you are all loving the twins!

I used to live in Buford (near the Mall of GA), but now live in Marietta. I'm in Buckhead often throughout the week for restaurants, meetings, etc. I love the ATL!

Hi all, not much time to write today, but I thought I'd pop in!

The baptism went really really well...Ellie and Braeden were sooo cute, and they were very well behaved! I'll try to post some pics soon. The grandmas helped take care of them at the party, and they did a good job of trying to keep them away from the hoopla for too long. My mom had Ellie outside a lot, where it was more quiet, and that seemed to help a TON. Of course, neither kiddo wanted to eat while company was around...they were too interested in all the people!

Kimberly--your babes might be going through a growth spurt. They'll need to eat more often during those times, and that also tells your body to make more milk. I think growth spurts for term babies seem to happen around 6 weeks or so? Good luck, and i hope the night goes well. I'll try to check the bucket for your picks.

Faithandhope--my RE advisded me not to take any home preggo tests until 2 weeks after the transfer. So, I did as told (as hard as that was)....I didn't want to jinx myself, i guess. So, I'm not sure what your tests are telling you...but, I HOPE the positive one is correct! good luck!

Kim~ LOVE the babies in their baptism photos! Ellie is your clone!!!! OMG!!! So cute. Congrats on the day going so well.

How long did it take you moms to get your babies to sleep at night at 7-8 weeks? It is taking us an hour+ of crying and patting them every 5-10 minutes to get them down at night. I really jinxed myself a few weeks ago! They just struggle to go in for the night.???

Must run. . .naps are apparently over early today!

Take care,
Kimberly

Congrats faith and hope!!!! Yeah!!!!

Kimberly, I have to admit that mine have always gone down pretty easily at night. Who knows, maybe I'll pay for it later. They always managed to get sleepy after eating their bottle. Are you feeding them right before bedtime? The bedtime routine helps too....I usually do some calm things with them before bedtime. Good luck!

Congrats Faithandhope!!! Nice Beta #! Maybe you'll be a twin mommy!

The babies use to go to sleep rather easy all the time. Now, as of the last 7-10 days, we are FIGHTING sleep tooth and nail. As I sit here typing they are on/off screaming their way into a nap. Now they just will not sooth themselves to sleep. What the heck???? They will fall asleep easily in my arms, in the baby seats, on their mat, swing or bouncer but not in the crib. It's like these are different children???? I have no idea how to help them get past this little stage. I do put them down for bed after a full feeding and calm activities but it doesn't help either. Now they won't go down after play either in the day! :( ??????????

Would LOVE any ideas or well. . .ANYTHING!

Thanks mommies!

Kimberly--I bet some of the other gals can help more than I can, BUT, I have been reading this book, Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. It emphasizes the fact that we shouldn't let kids get overtired. So, for kids my babies age, they should only be up for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, then go down for a nap. Like Babywise, says, it's preferable for them to be awake, so they can learn to soothe themselves. BUT, this book says it's okay to help soothe them into a drowsy state. So, that's what I do when one of the babies doesn't seem to want a nap. Either with some rocking or cuddling, etc. I try not to get them totally asleep before I put them down, but they're usually starting to flutter their eyes a bit. It seems to work for my babies, but then again, everyone's different. Be patient, I'm sure that some of the other gals will have some wise words for you! Good luck....

Hey Kim~
Thanks so much for your suggestion. I am just at my wits end here with this. Tonight, it took Annelise over 2 hours to go down for her nap. I soothed her and would calm her randomly but she just would not settle. Finally, she slept but for only 45 minutes. Normally, I would have let her try go back to sleep but they needed to eat again.

Tonight, I nursed then for 20 minutes and then gave them 1.5 oz. of formula to "Top them off". Hopefully, it will stay in their tummy a little longer and give me some sleep. Dh is so tired! The funny part is that they switch roled in who is being difficult throughout the day. This morning she took a 4 hour nap and he took forever to go down. I may have to try some other techniques with them. Who knows. At least when they are up, they are happy and content. They really are good babies I think they are just fighting sleep.

Keep your fingers crossed for some sleep!

Have a great night filled with fabulous sleepy dreams!

Hi all

Kimberly - our twins did the same thing and at about the same age. For whatever reason they both started to fight sleep which made them overtired and less likely to go to sleep and stay asleep. This went on for about a month  I was at my wits end as Harry was also screaming the place down all his waking hours! What I did was to keep them up no longer than an hour to an hour and a half each wake and feed time. The I would wrap them and put them down for a sleep. They fought it but I persisted and went in every so often to give them a dummy or if they were really crying I would pick them up to cuddle and sooth them and then put them straight back down. I think persistance is the key. Now, we keep them up between 1 1/2 to 2 1/2 hours for feed and play then they are put down for a sleep. Harry does not need the wrapping but Bronte still does. I can put them down awake now, no problems. Bronte still has the occassional day where she will fight sleep - it usually makes it a very long day with her very unhappy - thank goodness it is not too often. My two now have 2 sleeps per day a long 3 to 4 hour morning one and then a short afternoon one. They go to bed between 6.30 and 7.30, up for their 9.30pmish feed then back to bed. I am sure this routine will change yet again :)

My two are at childcare today hence the time to post. Last week was terrible as Harry had a viral lung infection. Unfortunately there were no drugs to help him so we just had to see him through. He almost went to hospital he was so bad, he could hardly breathe poor little man. Bronte now has a milder form of the same thing :(

Bronte has now started to giggle - took her a lttle longer than her brother - she is so serious and cautious I often wonder how she will turn out. The first time it started as a delightful squeal. The second time she really giggled then abruptly stopped as she realised that noise was coming from her - I really found that quite funny.

My two are moving around as well. Kim, are your babies moving? It is Harry more than Bronte. I laid him in his play gym centred and watched him wiggle over to one side and at a different angle. He also reaches towards things he wants that I place away from his side and he tries to turn towards it to grab it. I think it will be interesting in what the next few months bring.

I had a look at the recent photos - Kimberly your babies are soooo cute. Makes me look at my two and wonder where the time has gone because they certainly don't look like that now! Kim your babies are too cute and are getting so big! Thanks for sharing girls.

Oh about dogs - our Honey totally ignores the babies most of the time! She gets funny if we put the babies near her and she vacates the room if they start a crying session. She does wag her tail when she walks past their rockers with then in it and sometimes tries to lick them - my father had a fit at that :) I never leave her alone with them because I know she is funny towards them - not that I think she would do anything to them but I never give her the chance - just in case.

Most go and do some study.

Cheers Di

P.S. Faithandhope - did you find out if you are having one or two beanies? Congrats on the BFP by the way :)
