Crystal, I am so sorry that your cycle was cancelled. I too have been in that position and it is really upsetting to get that far.
A quick run down of my history - I've done 8 fresh (2 were cancelled) and 1 FET - I am currently on the 2ww for my most recent fresh. During that time I've been on three protocols: the long lupron protocol (the most common), the micro-dose flare and the antagonist. I respond best to the antagonist and was able to produce between 10-12 while on it, except for my last cycle where I only had 5 eggs. My response to the meds differed each time and it didn't seem to matter what protocol I was on.

The thing that I noticed made the biggest difference was acupuncture. I wasn't a true believer but thought it couldn't hurt. So, I went and the difference in my egg quality was unbelievable. I went from producing 11 eggs out of which there were 2 good ones to transfer and none to freeze, to producing 8 eggs out of which there were 4 good ones to transfer and 3 to freeze. Of the 6 fresh completed cycles I've done, the 3 that I've done with acupuncture have produced 80-90% high quality eggs that were either used in the ET or frozen. For my first 3 fresh cycles, I had none to freeze.

Hang in there Crystal and don't lose hope! It will happen for you! I am a true believer in that - I must be to do this many cycles (either that or I am crazy - hee hee).

Thanks for sharing with me your personal experience and the comforting words. That cycle was really upsetting and have had enough of crying. Now I guess I have to make sure that my body is in healthy condition before I embark on the next cycle. How long do you think I should rest before the next?

I'm happy to hear that this failed cycle does not mean I have limited reserves, hearing from your past experience. At least I still have hope to be a biological mommy...

What does acupuncture specifically do? Increase blood circulation, cleanse the liver, etc?

Crystal- accu has a multitude of benefits. Check out past threads on the topic. It can help with quality of eggs, implantaion, cycle regulation, have a claming affect, basically just help to balance everything out and much more.

wannabeamomma - I hope you guys stay safe. I have lived through a fire storm just 3 years ago and recall being on the edge, car packed ready for emergency evac. I stood outside at one point and wtached as scorched leaves fell like rain in the garden and heard the choppers constanly flying over head. My thoughts are with you guys.

Hope our 2WWers are chilling out and busy implanting.

Honey i am home from ET...

landed last night and had a 4 drive home so am shattered today...
We had 2 em-babies transfered saturday and 2 frosties left over to freeze
test day is 2nd November...

Crystal i had a cycle cancelled too my 1st one. The meds were then taylored better to suit me and i had 2 other cycles afterwards on the short/flare or cetrotide regime...worked fab for me. I also think acu is fab. this is the fist time i have had acu exactly before and after ET the lady acu in spain was fab.i rhave had it all thrugh this cycle and i deffo feel better because of it.

will catch you all in a couple of days ...as i want to stay of the computer when my embabies are due to implant...much love and luck to you all for bfp'S

Hi All ,
I am new to this forum,
Today is my ET, Have 4 follies, 4 ferti,today is day 3 transfer,don't know how many they are going to transfer, last cycle have 4 follies, 3 embies, transfered all 3 but BFN.My first 1 cycles were cancled due to less stimulation. I am also on high stimulation,but still able to produce 4 follies only. Today is going for ET , any body in the same time frames.
Any suggestions about food and rest.

JenB - welcome home! Glad to see that you have 2 little ones snuggling in and that you have two frosties just in case! Sounds as though you are in good spirits!

Wannabeamomma - my heart goes out to you. My DH and I watched the CNN coverage last night and I couldn't help but get teary for all the people who are in danger. What a horrible thing to have to live through. Keep safe!

Hopealways - I asked my acupuncturist what the benefits were and she told me that generally the acu before ER is to assist with blood flow to the uterus which will help improve egg quality. The acu right before and right after ET is to help with implantation. There are other benefits too but those were the main ones she highlighted for me. As for how long to wait, that is really up to you. My RE allowed me to start after one month but if you need longer to feel better mentally and physically than take the time you need.

As for me, I am paranoid that this cycle didn't work. My sore bbs are pretty much gone now and my cramping has started up again. If it is bfn then AF will arrive on Friday or Saturday so I am worried that the cramps I am feeling now are AF's arrival. This 2ww is going to kill me! I was so sure that this had worked on the weekend, and now I am so sure that it didn't work - what the heck is wrong with me? AHHH!

KellyM-Stay positive and try not to let the negative thoughts stess you out. Being pregnant and having your period have very similar symptoms so you won't know until you get the period or BFP!

Kellym-I know what you mean by being nervous. I, too, am getting more anxious as the time draws closer. We only have a few days left before our test. I pray we both will be very happy on Monday night next week by having Positive's. I am thinking of you daily and wishing the best.

Kelly - don't get paranoid. A little cramp might mean the embies are implanting! Just relax and I'm sure you'll have good news for all of us here! Can't wait....!!!

Talisen_cat - when is your ET, or am I missing something along the way? Anyway lots of luck!

Welcome Chi – I like to think you can carry on as normal in the 2ww (healthy eating, gentle exercise, life as normal). I believe stress plays a huge part in making or breaking, so just chilling out too!


Crystal- I think as long as your healthy, jump back on the crazy journey. AS long as your heads in the right space.

How’s the stims going ladies… what’s the follies count?

I’ll hopefully be having my egg transfer on Monday, depending on how egg retrieval goes tomorrow morning. I am now beginning to get a little nervous (will I get decent eggs, will DH produce quality sperm, will they fertilise….la la la).

I’m taking 2 days off after ER, so I can chill out in front of the tv. I usually head back to work the next day but thought I’d try it differently this time

Hopealways_Crystal - so sorry to hear the news. My thoughts are with you. Trying accu when you are ready sounds like a really good idea. Look after yourself.

Jen - Glad to see another buddy who is testing on similar dates, we are only 2 days apart!

Just a quick update from me, had FET today. Not so good news. Had 2 frosties, 1st one had 50% survival so they thawed 2nd one that only had 30% survival, that had to be discarded.

Although, IVF protol is to transfer embryo that has 70% plus survival they had transferred the one that had 50%. Chances are very slim but Im staying hopefull. Test Date is on 4th of Nov.

Im not a religious person, but I think Im going to start praying as I trully need a miracle for this embryo to make it.
