Hi from another party crasher here...!

Angie - just tracked you down from your post on the General forum "Another cancelled ivf & a nice glass of Chardonnay". Obviously the odd glass of wine has helped over your 2 ww! (It must have been a NZ sav. blanc that did the trick...)

CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU AND VICKI!

And thanks sistas for the wit and amusement you've brought into my day!

Woo Hoo Vicky and Angie.

Nice one Angie to sneak an HPT on us....I am so happy for you. Bloddy hell are you having trouble concentrating NOW???? There's nothing like seeing that positive result for the first time ever. As far as beta goes I think you will be at 111. What was DH's reaction?

Vicky, ditto to what the other sisters said and your RE is obviously very lovely to give you a follow up call. Can't wait to her your follow up beta...

Correct me if I'm wrong people but this may well be the most momentous day in sisterhood history! Now both of you get another 9 or so months of worry! Enjoy!

Sass, it must be a wierd feeling on your last stim cycle, I never got to that point but I imagine you must be having some fairly mixed feelings on that one....Let us know how you go with our dildo friend. I hope we are rounding this mega cycle off with a monster crop (but not OHSS monster style). As for the turning of the Nogs, well I don't think it is working. My next appt is this Thursday with my OB's colleague. I've googled him and read great stuff, apparently he is very understanding which is good because I've turned into a nutter...

And to all the gatecrashers, come on in, it's open house at the sisterhood. Mind you everytime I say that to someone they never come back...Kiwi Expat are where are you stationed???

Suzhan, I remember reading your posts, I take it that baby arrived safe and sound???

TinaO welcome, I cracked up at the suppository stuff. Thanks for reminding me about the nail polish I was just thinking about painting on some blue sparkly for my impending nightmare delivery...

Well I'd better be off, we are assembling the cot tonight which means that I will need to clear space for it.

Fee

This is a momentous day in the 'Hood. I am so excited for you both!! It was a two-fer. Now I just wish it was Wednesday so we could have Vicky's new beta and Thursday so we could get Angie's number. This is so EXCITING!! You girls will deliver virtually on the same day!

Fee - nice job and getting the crib. Should we put a Dunder Miflin sticker on it to sum up the Office theme? I also didn't want to say anything RE the gate crashers as we have not had too many stick around once we welcome them. Good on you for throwing it out there. Maybe they will now feel guilted in to staying around for our self esteems. We have had several one post wonders who maybe get a peak behind the curtain and run scared. I don't blame them really. You gotta be able to cover the gamet with us... Officially can't figure out how to spell gamet - keep getting that damn red line. Oh well.

Tina - Welcome to the trenches. We are knee deep this week in POAS's and stims so it is a great time to join in!

Sassy - You know what all these positive results mean, we need to step it up. Need to get Robbo in on this action too. I am going to start going to acupuncture more and forget about my job - getting pregnant is my new career.

As for the news around here - the current herbs I am on are making me a bit loopy. Going to do some research on them this morning as I swear they are making my eyes twitch. Feeling a bit schizo actually.

Awwwwwwww, you all guys are so great!!!!!!, you will make me cry (and that is not easy  ).

Shantala, of course I remember you!!!!!!!, thank you so much for coming here for us!!!!!!!.

Suzhan......dear old friend!!!!!!!, how's the baby doing?????, thank you for showing up for me and Angie here!!!. Hope you are doing great!!!

Tina......welcome to our crazy crazy sistahood!!!!! , these girls are the most amazing thing you will ever see, so stick around!!!

Sassy......you are almost there, can't believe the mega cycle is almost over!!!, you must be thrilled in a way, given that you will finally have your babies back, but it must be weird too, as you said. But as you can see, this is a good moment for the sistas, so that means that this is the perfect moment to put an end to your megacycle!!!!

Angie.....did you POAS any more?? (I bet you did  )

Fee.....wohoooooo, Nogs finally has a crib!!!, that is amazing!!!

Amy....did you find anything about the herbs, or did you just realize it's just you being crazy???

Well girls, one more sleep and I will find out what is going on there!!. I am in a positive mood right now, the spotting is almost gone, which is reassuring too, and the HPT's are getting darker, so I am happy, let's hope the numbers double tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!

When it rains, it pours, huh? (And this time that's a good thing!)
I'm so excited for both Vicky and Angie. Words can't explain how happy I am for you!

Sassy--The big last cycle begins, eh? (I'm feeling Canadian today, so am saying eh at the end of sentences!) Just ok? Well, that's not the worst thing you could have heard. Man, it is so your turn for things to go well. Know that I'm pulling for you, eh?!

Fee--Congrats on the crib. Do you feel like a mother yet? I still don't....

We had a rough night--Somehow Lucy got sick. She spiked a fever last night, and it was high enough that they had us bring her into the emergency room. They did all sorts of tests just because she's so young and they had to rule out a bacterial infection. I had to watch her get a spinal tap! 5 weeks old and she's already had a needle stuck into her spine. It was horrible. Luckily, all tests came back fine--it's probably just viral. So they gave her some antibiotics (another shot!) and sent us home. She still seems out of it today--I think her fever is still there although maybe not so high. And she has a really stuffed up nose. We go into the pediatrician for a follow up this afternoon. Man, it's so hard to see her suffer.

Well, best go eat while my baby sleeps.

Once again, I'm so happy this thread is getting some good things going. Sistas are getting it done!!!!!!

Vicky: Good on ya for the darkening line (and for your sanity... the decreased spotting). SO excited to hear your beta tomorrow!

Amy: yes, the bar has been set real high around here  Now I know you have probably already told me a few times... but when are you planning your next cycle? I too will have to quit my full-time job in order to catch up to the other sistas -- oh wait... I already did that two years ago .

Angie: 15dp2dt-- you should have a nice looking beta by then... especially since it showed up on a pee-stick yesterday. I'm no help on HCG levels... but I can't wait for you to get the confirmation!

Shantala, beachbaby and suzhan: it is good to hear from the three of you. Feel free to crash whenever the mood strikes.

TinaO: Welcome to the sisterhood! Sounds like you will fit right in. We can always use new sistas... the more people to share blue nail polish and stories of IVF woe with. #1 IVF next month? Fabulous. When exactly do you start?

Fee: ummm. In "aussiespeak" is cot the same as a crib? Or is it just a cot?

Mego: oh, the first really bad fever. That must have been very scary  . Five weeks old and she has already been through the wringer. I'm hoping she is doing better today and that her fever stays down. Now you go get some rest, mama.

So I tangled with the dildocam this am. Results are less-than-stellar. BUT... it could ALWAYS be worse. I have 7 developing follicles. I also have 20 antrals hanging out, thumbing their miniscule follicle noses at the waves of Gonal-F and Menopur which have been washing over them. Stubborn little buggers. So we will try to whip them into shape with increased menopur and a few extra days of stims. I'm thinking maybe I need to go buy some G.odiva chocolates during lunch to coax them out of their apathy. I'm pulling out all the stops here... willing to sacrifice *sigh* by eating G.odiva if it will help

Sassy - I am completely open to doing a transfer anytime you want. I don't have one scheduled. I am secretly telling myself that I am going to miraculously end up pregnant due to my wonderful acupuncturist and crazy herbs. I am going to see him a few more times to finish out his "cleansing" and then think about transfer dates. He said most REs want you off of their herbs for about 2 weeks prior to the transfer... When are you thinking? Robbo you want in on this?? Make it a trifecta?

Meg - You poor thing. That must be so scary. I can't even imagine. She is so little! Might need to get her a bubble. And make sure you purrell everyone that comes within 5 feet of her. I don't like this one bit. What did the doctor say this afternoon? Fever down? I am worried.

Vicky - You doing okay?? Any more spotting? Blood draw in the morning? Can't wait to see your 100 plus hcg!! Now also remember. Little DS here is 6 and a half - he is alive and well - quite smart - and his hcg didn't double. Glad they are doing another blood draw and hopefully they are checking your progesterone levels so that you can adjust your protocol! What time do you go in and when do you expect the results??

Angie - You are knocked up! Can't believe how this is all coming together. Chinese herbs - a trip to the states - natural cycle and BAM - you are knocked up! It was probably the glass of wine that did it. You know alcohol thins your blood and that probably thinned out the uterine wall just enough to make it comfy and cozy for baby Amy. Can't wait to meet her! I think she will have my green eyes!

Fee - I am cross-stitching Nogamy's first Office themed wall hanging. I have Nogamy - Born October 30, 2007. Don't make me undo my handy work....

Greetings sistas.....I appreciate the warm welcome into the hood. I will certainly try not to be one of those crashers who does a drive by and never returns. I need all the support I can get!!!

Vicki - So, it appears you have a round-the-clock watch going on from all time zones in the world. Hopefully your news will be fantastic and we can all celebrate. I can celebrate with a tall glass of wine for you...hell...I might just drink a whole bottle (sorry - I have been looking for reasons to drink now that I found out I am not flippin pregnant!!).

Angie - Congratulations! I will be anxiously awaiting your continued positive progress!!!

Fee - I like the idea of the blue sparkly toe nail polish for delivery. It is important to maintain a sense of style even when you are screaming in pain.

Sassy - I start my 1st IVF cycle in early Nov. Dildo cam is set for the 2nd and as long as that lovely rod does not detect any cysts, we will be good to go. Which brings me to a question: Is it just me or do they coat the dildo cam with an unbelievable amount of gook before they put it in? I find it very disgusting and I swear one of the women puts it into the freezer before she inserts it just to see me squirm!!! Beeeyotch!

Amy - ok, so what is the deal with the herbs? Am I missing out on something? :) I think you need to join me on my cycle....starting in a few weeks!!

Meg - Ok, so Lucy sounds like a beauty queen. I have yet to see the photos, but it sounds like she is quite stunning!

Ta Ta for now....

Helloo all.

I have decided to take it easy today and not run any errands. I think I worked too damned hard yesterday and my feet have swelled up like canoes. I have had to buy some thongs to wear on them as nothing else will fit...I wonder if I will ever get into the blue stilletoes again???

Mego, has the trauma of Lucy's illness made you speak like a Canadian? I love speaking in a Canadian accent. My friends and I used to try it on at school, inspired by Degrassi Junior High and the Anne of Green Gables mini series. Keep it up I'm impressed. Poor Lucy, I can't believe the testing that she had to go through that must have been awfully tough. Hope she is on the mend eh? And err we didn't get around to assembling the crib last night (yes Sass, same as a cot!), we are so freaking disorganised. I don't feel like a mum yet because I still imagine that everything will go horribly wrong...have become so freaking superstitious too. My mate just rang me from work to give me some gossip about another colleague who we don't like. I climbed in and made some less than kind remarks and then instantly regretted the bad karma i just bought myself. I tried to remedy it by saying nice stuff after that but my mate told me that my kind words were unconvincing...

Angie, how's the sanity going? Sanity is overrated really, I've managed to function without any for the past nine or so months, it can be done I assure you. What time do you expect your results tomorrow? I will need to log on specially...

Amy, nice work on throwing in some guilt, appears to have worked on TinaO. How's the twitching going? I once had my eye twitching for near on a week. I looked like some sort of winking pervert. Hope you are not in a similar boat. As for the cross stitch, would not dream of making you undo your work. I will now give Nogs his first lecture....

Vicky! I will be anxiously waiting for your second beta...good luck I'm sure it will be fine!

Sassy those antrals had better get their asses into gear otherwise I will come over and give them a damned good hiding. Lets go into overdrive with drugs and chocs, a killer combo in my view.

Tina why stop at a glass of wine, please have one for me. I've been having wierd cravings for Irish Coffee. Have one of those for me as well. Yes they do put a lot of goo on the dildo. Mine always looked like a great big dripping wand. I wonder why they feel the need to lube it up so much? I will need to ponder this one. I am re-thinking the nail polish as my feet are looking pretty gross right now, perhaps not my best feature so best not to draw attention to them. Mind you the whole package is looking less then flash. Let me paint a picture. I have not bleached my roots in nine months, hair consequently looking disgraceful. I have grown a double chin in the last two days it accessorises the bags under my eyes nicely. And who knew with all these female hormones floating around that I would be able to cultivate such a handsome moustache. Magnum PI style. I won't even begin to describe what's going on below my neck...that's a horror story for another day.

SECRETARY UPDATE My secretary is leaving work this Friday but not before continuing in her slutty ways. My mate tells me that secretary has just slept with her best friend's boyfriend and that he bit her on her nether regions. Apparently skin was broken and she was in a lot of pain so secretary is now seeking medical advice...How embarrassing to have to explain that one to the Dr. I will miss secretary and her crazy antics...

Hi girls - just rearing my ugly head in case I get accused of being one of those 'one hit wonders'!

No juicy gossip or slutty secretaries in my office - unfortunately! But hey, time may tell...

Fee - I'm based in Singapore at the moment. I did, however, have a great stint in Sydney which I loved. (Thought I'd also post to boast up those antipodean numbers too!)

I can also relate with not wanting to jinx things in your pregnancy. My colleague's wife was in her 40's when she gave birth to her first child and naturally, he was really anxious over the whole thing. I swear he was in a state of denial as he didn't even tell anyone at work his wife was expecting, and get this - on her due date, we had a business meeting in Malaysia and he flew there with me to attend it!!! By that time, I had found out he was going to become a dad and told him he must have had an 'extremely understanding' wife!! (I had a heart attack every time his phone rang that day...) Needless to say, she was late and delivered a gorgeous little girl 2 weeks later. BTW - he didn't have a cot ready either and we were making jokes that the poor wee sprog would be sleeping in the bedside drawer when it got home!

Anyway, I'm sure you will be totally prepared on the day and best of luck to all the sistas!

Andrea
