Tilted womb. Was your ET ok?

Hi.

I was told by my doctor that i have tilted womb but there is nothing to worry. Many women do have tilted womb.

My question goes for who has tilt womb and has done ET:

Did you have any problems on ET?
Was it complicated?

I just want to know some experience because first time i heard about this.

hi i have a tilted womb and found et quite painfull as it was hard for them to put it in the right place but it wasn't anything to bad or to worry about, good luck

Hi Anie,

I too have a tilted womb and it was no big deal. It seemed much easier when I arrived at my ET with a VERY FULL bladder. While it was uncomfortable from the "I feel like I am going to explode" perspective, the ET part of it was a breeze. In my case, my full bladder pushed my womb down so that it was less tilted.

But even in the one instance where my bladder wasn't completely full, it was definitely bearable and they had absolutely no problem with the placement of the embies! It just took them a little longer to get the catheter in.

I was told I had a tilted womb years ago (Although it has never been mentioned since!). I had no problems at all with ET. It all went very smoothly.

Hi Anie, I have a kinked cervix, i suppose it may be the same thing?. However on my first transfer it took them nearly half an hour to get the catheter in!!!, never had a trial run, I have since always had the consultant do the transfer and all has been fine. Don't worry.

Hey, I too have a kinky typed right angle-ish womb - my transfer was quite difficult but in the end a second doctor(aka SuperDoc) managed it. I got a BFN , and asked SuperDoc if the difficult transfer might be a factor. (My transfer took 2hours in all ). He was of the opinion that out of 800 transfers, 10 may prove difficult, but that when a Dr. applies himself so much in that circumstance, to get the job done that they do a better job than usual. He said he's very interested in research in that area.
I suppose what I'm trying to say is a transfer is what it is - scary but just another hurdle to clear in this process and just because you a tilted womb doesn't mean you'll have a diificult transfer. I've to have a hysteroscopy before I go again, have you been recommended one?
