IVF & Cysts

Ultrasound today showed a large cyst on one ovary. I am waiting to hear from the dr. but the nurse says they will either aspirate it or put me on higher dosage of lupron.
I have been on 20 units of lupron for 12 days already and was supposed to start menopur and follistim tommorow.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Hi,

I too had a cyst on my left ovary before I began my IVF cycle. Once my RE got inside to retrieve my eggs, he drained it and now it has gone away. He told me it drained clear liquid and it was nothing to worry about!

I am on Luporn day 9 and they found a cyst on my ovary....waiting to get blood work back to see what my estrogen level are. May need to continue on Lupron for 5 -7 more days before reevaluating. I am only on 2.25 units of luron....you are on 20?

If it isn't estrogen producing they can let you go on. If it is, they will probably keep you on lupron for another week. I had this happen twice and both times my cycles were canceled.

I went thru the same thing last month, was on 20 units Lupron for 15 days but the persistent cyst just refused to go away. Apparently it is common, about 10 to 12 % women experience it. Do you know how much your Estrogen is?
