hi karia

unfortunately i cant help as its never happened to me before but i hope someone out here has had something similar!

i think its quite normal to bleed after EC (i bled both times and i think everyone else does) but not sure if that's the same. i guess not??

anyway, just wanted to say sorry that you have to go through this and then be made to feel like its nothing! if nobody else on here can help maybe phone the clinic and demand to speak to a doctor??

wow - what a scary story. Where are you guys from? I'm from Australia.

I have had 4 cycles and was always told there maybe a but of spotting afterwards and that's it. I was lucky and never had any.

It's concering to hear your stories.

the reason i have posted is that i would like to know if it was normal as this is what they have mad me believe or was it negligent on the docs part as i felt that the collection was rushed she spent more time on giving me the drugs than the collection

So many different clinics have different protocals. At my curent clinic, the norm for egg collection is :
The doctor (gyno/IVF guy)
Registered Nurse
Anesthetist - monitors you the whole time
Embryologist

They are with you the whole time. I know there are risks with any surgery but full on bleeding I'm sure is very unusual. They are only sticking a needle into your ovaries to empty the follicles. How much damage can that do?

At the two clinics I have been at they have differed slightly but not by much. Both gave heavy sedation (I can't recall any of the procedure).

It took 1/2 hour for the actual egg collection then 2 hour recovery before I was sent home. And like I said- only spotting or no bleeding at all was the expected result.

I hope that helps.
