Would you rather go to a clinic where you have one doctor exclusively but not as great success stats as Columbia? I also went to a clinic where you see whatever dr is in that day. They also had great stats. Please don't take offense but if you're trying to have a great relationship w/ one dr thats one thing but if you're trying to get pregnant go where the stats are good. Your specific dr cannot be there every day that you are in the office it is just not possible.

Untrue, it is absolutely possible when the doctors care. I have been to one, before Columbia, for my IUI, which also involves mornng monitoring, to a private RE in Bklyn., NY who was there every day, every patient. She works w/NYU clinic--also excellent success rate. The only reason I switched to Columbia is b/c my insurance covered there and not NYU.
Your retrieval, ET and other procedures are performed on very specific days and I could not possibly expect my specific dr to be on call 7 days a week. Plus with all the other patients they would have, they would NEVER have a day off. Even my Ob/gyn had a partner so they could actually have 1 day off a week.

All I'm saying is that is it possible, doctors do it; they are on call 24/7. They assume a limited number of patients in their private RE practices, like my original doctor. She has a partner, I did four IUI cylcles and never met the partner. They try to provide personal care in conjunction with the high success rate of NYU and succeed. I simply prefer their method w/NYU as opposed to the factory/group model at CWRC. Unless you have tried both, can you judge? It is simply personal preference. I am not trying to offend anyone. It is certainly an option that potential infertility consumers should look into.

I have tried both. My previous gynecologist was in practice by himself. I got a new ob when I became pregnant w/ twins and needed a practice that was specifically for high risk pregnancies. Anyway, since he was the ONLY doctor, you would be in his office minimum one hour in the waiting room before you even got called to the back. Or he was late for appointments because he had noone to help him when someone went into labor. My biggest complaint besides waiting forever in the waiting room was that he was ALWAYS half asleep (w/ reason) and never knew if he was giving me his full attention. I just think that if you are trying to have a baby, people should focus on a clinic w/ great stats instead of other less important factors.
My friend PJ LOVED her doctor and refused to change clinics. She has had 4 failed attempts at IVF w/ them and she finally listened to me and has changed clinics in hopes of changing her luck. Her previous dr had horrible stats compared with other clinics. If you like your new clinic then that's great. But.....all I am saying is if they don't have as good success rates as Columbia, you should think about what is more important. Getting pregnant or having the same dr every time you show up at their office. If you can find your own personal dr and one w/ great stats well than that is wonderful.
