Hi, I was searching the net for advice and came across this forum.
Today I am feeling pretty down as my husband has just been to the doctors for his sperm analysis results. His count is 17 million, rapid motility 18% and morphology 3% normal. I realise this isn't awful but its not great either. We have been trying to get pregnant for 20 months since he had a vasectomy reversal.
The doctor now wants to see me for some blood tests and to refer us on. I have been using a fertility monitor for 6months and don't seem to have any ovulation problems. I am 30.
Any advice on where we go from here would be welcomed.
We also have male factor probs. Although my dh has no sperm!! In his sperm retevial they found three abnormal sperm. My dh was upset when we found out he was the one with fertility probs. He felt he had let me down and couldn't believe the news. We are now having to use a donor.
Your doctor is really the only one to give the best advise. I know it is hard when you find out but believe me that is only the begining. IVF/IUI is a real rollorcoaster ride but as you may have seen some girls here get some great results from it.
This is a great site for asking questions and getting support from ladies that know just what you are going through. You can pm me if you have questions.

Hi Popsy - 17 million is not bad - my DH count was 1 million - but if you go down IVF route with ICSI - where they selct best sperm from sample and fertilise each individual egg it does not matter - i have only done 1 cycle so far - 3 eggs retrieved(which is very low) - but 2 of those eggs fertlised with Icsi - unfortunately they did not stick so was a BFN for us .. do not loose faith though - this message board will answer all you questions - general form has more going on and there is a thread called awaiting treatment with lots of help and advice
Thanks to everyone who has read this and those who replied. I was feeling really down when I posted this as our GP had said our chances of conceiving naturally were low. We were referred to an ivf clinic two weeks ago and now a miracle has happened.
I AM PREGNANT
I can't belive how lucky we have been. It just goes to show you should never give up no matter how low your chances are.
I have no moved on to a whole new set of emotions. Scared that something will go wrong.
Good luck to everyone on here, i wish you all some of my luck.
