Hey girls,
Baby08....so sorry to hear your news. I was under the assumption that the further along the transfer is, the better the chances. For example, I did a 5 day transfer. I thought it had a little better chances than a 3 day and especially a 2 day because they are able to tell which embryos are developing well. Think about it this way.....on my Day 2, I had 8 embryos. On Day 3, 6 were remaining because 2 had arrested. They were all doing well on Day 3 so they wanted to wait it out and see which ones would be the best to transfer. By Day 5 only 4 were left (now they were blastocysts). So, if you did a 2 day transfer, what if they transferred the ones that arrested just a few days later. I know this is kind of confusing, but I hope this helps you and makes sense. I would try to see if they could do a 3 day transfer if possible next time.

Kimberli-Congrats to you, sweetie!!!!!!!!!! I'm thrilled for you!!!!!!!! What a great Beta, as well! Keep us posted on your next one!

Vicky.....you and I need to make a "I survived IVF and am pregnant" pledge.....after we see US and heartbeat we must live for the moment and stop worrying! ha ha! I am in shock at how I just assumed once there was a BFP everything would be good to go and not worry about a thing! Yea right!

Kimberli-I am COMPLETELY bloated as in I look 4-5 months pregnant bloated!!!!!!! I'm telling myself it is either twins or the progesterone! I already bought a pair of maternity jeans at Mimi Maternity and I'm only 5 weeks right now! I'm not even one of those people that just was so excited about maternity clothes either, but once I tried a pair on, and they fit, I was like, I better just give in to it now. I worked out a lot before and now I'm not working out and taking it easy but the swelling in my stomach is insane! I have to ask my dr. about it when I go in for the ultrasound, it's that bad! I need to buy a bella band for the rest of my pants to fit!

Hi Faithand Hope-
My nurse told me that I need to watch the bloating b/c of possible hypertension. B/c my ovaries were stimulated so much for the egg retrieval(21 eggs taken) I was told to drink gatorade and not water so much b/c the water can add to the fluid that is left in the ovaries from all the follicles, and watch the bloating. But I'm glad to hear its just not me. I guess now that I've made it this far I'm over analyzing every little symptom.
Take care,
Kimberli

Faithandhope.......I am also sooooo bloated, yesterday DH told me "woww, you are showing already" , I normally have a flat belly, but since this cycle I am very bloated, but I am thinking it most probably is due to the large ovaries and all the inflammation due to all the things we get down there  . BTW, are you still cramping here and there????

Hope you are all doing great!!!

I am waiting for the results of my 4th beta now, will keep you guys posted!!!

Vicky- Congrats on the new beta! Sounds like things are progressing nicely. I think you are right about the bloating and ovaries. Women in our situation are susceptible to hypertension. My dr/ nurse reccommend gatorade for the electrolytes. Water can add to the bloating.

I hope everyone else is doing great.

Shantell when is your test tomrrow or thurs? Either way my fingers are crossed for you.

My second beta is tomorrow!

Hi Kimberli!

My test is on Thursday. My nurse is horrible about calling me back so I will probably have to call her around 4:00 to ask her my results. This has been the worst week. It's like I can't even enjoy my BFP! I don't think I will enjoy it until after I hear a heart beat.

The bloating is a normal symptom in pregnancy. I have tons of friends who are pregnant (without IVF) and they are bloated too. I am really bloated.

I knew something was different this IVF because my last IVF that ended in BFN, I lost weight...this time I feel bloated and I can tell I have gained weight and I haven't done anything different.

Good luck to everyone! I just can't wait until Thursday!!!!!

Vicky - I am so excited for you!!! What a great beta! I am sure that you can relax now with a beta of 1711...

Well, I went to my review appointment today and decided to give it one last try with my eggs. I started stims today so I guess I'll have my ER in about 10 days. For some reason, I am feeling really nervous this time - maybe because it is officially the last go with my eggs.

We've decided to see how many follicles I have at day 10 or day 12 and then decide whether we'll proceed with ER at that point. If there is anything less than 5 or 6 follicles we'll abort and move directly to the donor eggs. I think the next 10 days are going to be very stressful for me!

I'll let you guys know how it goes - hopefully I'll be back in the 2ww in 2 weeks time!

Kellym,

If you don't mind me asking, how old are you? Do you have "unexplained infertility"?

Shantell,

I am 35 years old (started this when I was 32) and actually am supposed to be an 'easy case'. We were originally diagnosed with male factor which was overcome by ICSI. We have since found out that in addition to the male factor my DH also has 50% DNA fragmented sperm which is considered very poor fertility potential (hence why we've now turned to donor sperm on our last cycle). The most recent revelation is that my FSH is creaping up - I was at 11.3 last cycle but it is now at 10. So, this is a very frustrating process since we were supposed to be able to get pregnant quite easily.

Let's hope that this round is my lucky one!
