Husband had vasectomy, low success chance in ICSI,????

My husband had vasectomy before he met me. From what I read on line, the success rate will be very low for us even with the help of IVF/ICSI. Any success story, how many cycles did you do before a pregnancy achieved?

Hello.

Maybe you need to do ICSI and not IVF.
These are 2 different way of treatment.

Maybe you should read more about it and go for ICSI.
This website has plenty,good and clear information about ICSI.

I am from Colorado and went through ICSI and have a 6 month baby girl. It was also a male factor as well. I am about to go through it again and pray for baby number two. My clinic had good success rates

my dh has had a vasectomy too. He had Surgical Sperm Retrieval (an op under general anasthetic) as it had been over 10 years since his vasectomy and a reversal would not have worked.

They retrieved lots of sperm through surgery and froze it. You then have to have ICSI, not IVF as the retrieved sperm can't swim so have to be injected into the eggs. We've had 9 attempts so far but please don't let that put you off, we've always had great fertilisation rates with the sperm, twice it was 100%.

My dh had a vasectomy (first marriage) and we had it successfully reversed in the UK 12 years after it was done. The problem is that there are anti-sperm antibodies in the ejaculated sperm, thats common and not a problem these days, the clinics can treat the sample and the sperm can then get on with their job. HOWEVER, I got pregnant in IM Barcelona with donor eggs, and had a miscarriage, we found a sperm guru here in Germany where we now live and he examined dh sperm under electron micrscope, the problem is that the sperm get more genetic damage, because of the antibodies, so the risk of m/c is higher even if you get fertilisation, even pregnancy. SO as Natalie does, we have TESE surgical sperm retrieval, and we got pregnant and had our lovely son. The FET we had in the summer was from frozen embies made with ejaculate sperm, so thats 2 miscarriages with ajculate sperm. We are now doing a fresh cycle of DE/ICSI with TESE for baby number 2. My suggestion would be dont bother with the reversal, expensive and almost certain to end up with the same antibody problem, go straight for TESE followed by ICSI, I am sure thats what your clinic would recommend.

It would defo be ICSI you need and not IVF. My husband had surgical sperm retrieval due to male factor infertility. The straws of sperm they had were frozen and they basically injected one sperm into each of my eggs (7 in all), 5 fertilised, 3 perished and two were transferred. As you will see from my ticker I am 30 weeks pregnant on my first attempt although I do say I was very very lucky to get BFP first time but it can happen! Good luck to you x
