Hello All,
I’m so sad that IUI didn’t work for any of us. After I read all your messages, I started to doubt that this even works for anyone. (Actually, I’ve never even heard of it working for anyone, you only seem to hear of successful IFV’s).

But this made me realize that I think I’m spending too much time worrying for myself and everyone else going through this. I try to think positively, and I thought that getting on line, chatting with you guys, sharing what we’re going through, trying to give encouragement (and feel encouragement), would help me through this difficult and emotional process. However, I think that this is just making me think and focus on all the negative aspects. I am able to stay positive a lot of the time, and it is extremely helpful to share experiences, but I also think it causes stress, especially if it’s not working for any of us!

Essentially, I’m worried that I may be inadvertently perpetuating the health problems in my body by focusing on it so much.

I think I’m going to try very very very hard to start thinking more positively. Not just “it will work this time” but more like “when the baby comes this is what I’m going to do.” I really want to try and think good and positive and definite. Probably a little corny, but I’m willing to try anything at this point.

Thank all of you so much for your encouragement through all of this. I hope with all my heart that all of you get your beautiful babies. I’ll probably log on a couple more times this week, then I’m going to try and stay away (which will be very difficult). I want to leave the worrying about what to do next to my doctor.

I hope I didn’t offend anyone by this. I know it sounds a bit selfish, but maybe that’s what we all need right now.

Best of luck to all of you!!!!

maineknitter - we will miss you, but you must do whatever feels right for you. I agree it has been a bit disheartening on this thread but iui CAN work. Look for the posts by pequele on the 'awaiting treatment' thread - she just got a BFP last week with her 2nd iui.

This is a link to another site I go on -
http://forums.fertilitycommunity.com/in ... ation-iui/
There's been lots of success stories on here recently (the chat just isn't what it is on here tho  )

Feel free to pop back in anytime - we'll always be here for you.
Best wishes
Su

Hi maineknitter
Yep as Su just said you need to do what is right for you. I hope everything goes well for you!!! Stop in when ever you need to. I'm afraid iui is the luck of the draw but it can work. In aussie they give it a 15% sucess rate, I'm not sure what other countrys rates are.

Su-thank you so much for all your great support. i really hope something works out for you soon. i will check out the other thread with a success story, and that web site you provided. it has been a bummer wondering why this hasn't worked for anyone

Kery-good luck also. my doc won't tell me what the success rate is. i think if he had told me 15%, i probably wouldn't have bothered trying. maybe that's why they don't tell. i do know they have success though, as they have successes posted as ultrasounds on the wall.

I was also told 15% for iui in UK. Apparently its the same as natural conception rate!

My re's office also says about 15% but that the cumulative rate goes up to 50-60% over four tries, so I try to look at those numbers instead. Good Luck everyone!!

Hi ladies! Sorry I have been MIA for a little while. How are you all doing?!?! We just went to the doctor on Friday and got the thumbs up to proceed with our first IVF treatment. There was one small cyst but I am still on BCP, so they said the cyst was just residual and should go away very shortly. So, we start a drug called Lupron on Tuesday and then my egg retrieval is scheduled for I believe Nov 26th - right after I pig out on Thanksgiving...well, and by birthday is the 24th. Anyway, I guess they will implant 2 of them right around Dec 1st. Hopefully this will work out for us! But holy cow - there are A LOT of drugs with IVF! I will be taking 3 shots a day soon. Yikes!!! :? Oh well, hopefully it works and it will all be worth it!

So, what is everyone's next plan? You know, it is tough sometimes but you read all these stories of women who have been at it for a while and then they get pregnant! So, I guess we got to just keep at it! :)

Anyway, let me know how you are all doing! Wishing everyone the very, very best!!!

Hi Tina :)
Its good to hear from you.
I'm back on the iui roller coaster for one last go. They've upped my dose of menopur and hope to get more than 1 follie this time. If I don't get a BFP this time then I'll have a break over xmas and book an appt to discuss ivf.
I hope it all goes really well for you
Love Su

Hi Tina
Thats great that you got the go ahead for ivf. It's funny some of us go from iui to ivf and others from ivf to iui. At the end we are all on the lovely 2ww!! Hope this gives you the BFP!!

Su
Good luck for this cycle. Hopefully increasing your menopur will do the trick!!

I'm starting meds at the end of the month.

Hello all

Hey all!! Tina, I took November off because I am having surgery on my hand, but I will be doing one more try at IUI at the end of November/beginning of december. If that does not work, then we will go straight into IVF, hopefully. It has been nice to not be Clomid girl, as my DH calls me, this month.

I pray every night for a BFP. I have not been on this roller coaster as much as you guys but it has been enough already for me. At least I could have a few drinkies this month. :D

Hope to hear from all that we have BFP's by the end of the year.

Hi, everybody.
I am on a down side today :( . It is 2 weeks since IUI and I needed to do my pregnancy test. I did 3 - all of them negative. I am so upset. We had 3 IUIs in 2005 (all without success). This time I changed the clinic (we weren't satisfied with the first one). Everything was different this time - I had different feelings, and had been sure very much of positive results.
I called the clinic to leave a message and awating now

Hi elca
I am sorry I hear your news. Did you have a blood test or do a HPT? We didn't have a very good month around here with bfn!! Will you be doing another iui?

Thanks Kery,
I have just got the call from clinic. They are awating of morphology results on my DH. Then we decide what to do the next. I am getting very dissapointed and losing my hopes. I don't want to waste the presious time and go for IVF, but see what the Dr says.
