I am so glad to hear from you and that your babies are doing so good!! I'm sorry you had a scare early on but I am so glad they hung on to 33 weeks. This weekend I will be 26 weeks, just being bored at home!! I did start to have contractions around 21 weeks, they weren't causing me to dilate but he gave me some meds to take anyway to calm my uterus down and it worked because I haven't had any since. I am going to Dr. every week, rotating with the OB one week and then the peri. the next week. By 29 weeks he wants to see me twice a week to make sure the babies are growing and my cervix is still nice and long. Last week it measured 5.1 so that was great.
I have had 4 showers, got all the big things so we are so happy about that! My mom is coming over to help decorate the nursery since I can't really get around anymore. I don't feel like my tummy is growing as fast as the babies are! Last night Elijah was pushing on something close to my rib and it hurt so bad! I was trying to push him down but he didn't want to budge! They are so funny, I feel like I know their little personalities already.
I go tomorrow to the peri. to see them again so I can't wait for that!
Well I hope you heal fast...I had a cyst removed one time when I was 16 and had to have a nurse come over and repack it and no one told me it would hurt that bad and no one told me to take any pain meds so when she pulled it out for the 1st time I fainted and went into a Grand Mal seizure! It was not fun! So I know how painful that can be. I am not looking forward to the c-section either. Take care of those cute babies and hopefully you can post some pics on Photobucket so we can all see!
Laura, hope you are doing good still. When is your next US...8 weeks? You'll be amazed at how different they will look!
Wow this is literally the toughest time for you...My incsicion didnt heal properly either. I took me about a month to walk normal again. I hope yours heals much better and sooner. As far as the feeding schedule, yes mine ate every 3 hours for the first few months until they put on some good weight and were up to par with the standards of the weight/age ratio. But after a few months i decided i wasnt going to wake them up on purpose just to feed them. Please try to get someone to help you at nights, i didnt have that and within a month or so i was exhausted and almost delusional. Mine all had relux so it was really difficult, i had to keep them upright for 20-30 min after they ate. By the time i was done it was less than an hour away from the next feed. It almost gave me enough time to pump for the next feeding. The only thing i would really suggest is keeping them on the NICU schedule, it really helps and GET help if you can afford it, unfortunately i couldnt and it really took a toll on me after 4 months. but things do get better. I promise they will. The most important thing is that your babies are healthy and home with you. Going back and forth to the hospital is reallllllly difficult especially with an unhealed c-section. If you have any questions feel free to send me a pm and i will give you my number we can talk. ( if you will ever have the time to talk). A warm hug to you and your babies...
Just bored being stuck at home all day! Hope everyone is doing well!
I am 27 weeks and hanging in there, keep getting good reports from my weekly appts so that is good!
Dolce, did you have to get steroid shots around 28 weeks to try and mature babies lungs? That's what my OB wants to do. Just wondering if they hurt bad and if you have to continue taking them til delivery.
I had steroids at 30 weeks when i went into the hospital. I asked about it at 27 weeks but my doctors said that they didn't want to give me the steroids too early in case i didn't deliver for a while, and it was a good thing they didn't , because i delivered at 33 weeks. The shots don't hurt at all - it's 2 shots, given one day apart, in your butt. It's nothing bad at all i promise you will barely feel it.
Hang in there with bed rest - i remember how bored i was and even cried some times because i couldn't take it anymore, but it is all worth it when you see those cute little faces!
My only advice at this point is to make sure you have your hospital bag packed with EVERYTHING you will need in case you have to be hospitalized for a few WEEKS. I only packed a bag for a few days and ended up in the hospital for 3 weeks, so my hubby had to constantly bring things to the hospital for me that i never thought to pack. I left there with suit cases !! Ha ha.
Let us know how your appt. goes this week !
Janine
I will ask him about that maybe being too early. I hope he doesn't think I will deliver really soon...that is scary! I am trying to imagine myself getting any bigger but I can't! My belly is so tight, I feel like they have no room in there! I wish I was bigger for them but I am not.
Bed rest is going ok, just take it day by day. My mom is off all next week for Thanksgiving so she is going to come over and keep my company! And maybe she can help me pack my suitcase!!
I hope your little ones are doing good...I bet they are getting big!
I'll keep in touch,
Allison
Well my appt today went great...I was so happy! My cervix is still good at 4 cm. All babies have good fluid. My girl is 2 lb 6 oz. and the boys are 2 lb. 8 oz. So I think they have grown good in a week. My Dr. said he is actually surprised that I am doing so well this far along with no problems. So that made me feel better!
My belly is measuring 38 weeks! I knew I was big but dang! I am hoping the results of the glucose test come back ok. He is going to do a complete panel on me because I did tell him I just didn't feel good this morning, felt weak and gittery. He thought maybe it was the drink I had to drink but just in case he is going to check everything. So I guess I will get those results back Monday. I got the cutest 4D pics of my girl and one of the boys. The other one is always face down, never wants to look at the camera. I noticed they all look fatter on their legs and face. That made me feel better too!
OK everyone have a great weekend!
Allison
My bloodwork came back yesterday, I don't have gestational diabetes but still am anemic even though I have been on iron supplements for awhile now. They want me to take them twice a day now which I really don't want to do since it already is making it hard for me to go to the bathroom as it is. So they said take laxatives, but I really don't want to take that everyday either. So I am trying to eat more things that have iron in them naturally to see if that helps first. I'll try that for a week. If I still notice I am still weak and lightheaded then I will have to double up on the iron pills. Did you guys have this problem? I really was fine until I hit the 3rd trimester and starting feeling bad again. I guess the more they grow and the more blood I am pumping it is depleting me of iron.
I have another appt tomorrow, can't wait for that. Still having contractions everyday but are really sporadic so as long as my cervix is ok I should be fine.
Hope you guys are doing good...have a great Thanksgiving!! So much to be thankful for this year for sure!!
Allison
Congratulations on making it this far in your pregnancy! Keep up the good job. I too had to take iron in my last few months of pregnancy, its a real pain in the a**. But i took it with a laxative, you basically end up not having a choice. Especially if you end up on bedrest. I too had no cervix problems but got sent to the hospital at 29weeks just to monitor the babies on a daily basis. I was on modified bedrest and having hardly any movement really slows things down as well. SO take the laxative, there is no harm to the babies, its better than the toxins staying in your body. If you have any questions send me an email. Please take good care of yourself these next few weeks are very very important to you and your babies. My next major goal was 32 weeks and once that passes you will take a deep breath! Stay stationary, remember sitting on your bum doesnt relieve the pressure from your cervix, always lay down as much as possible. I delivered a few hours shy of 34 weeks because of protein spilage in my urine, and high blood pressure, cervix never had a problem and was closed and at 2 something before i delivered. So cervix is not the only reason you end up delivering early....Please take it easy, you want those babies in your tummy as long as possible, my peri basically said, each day your baby stays inside your belly its 3 days less NICU time. And that was really true, my kids were home in 2 weeks...If you need anything feel free to contact me.
Allison~
Iron was something I struggled with as well when pg w/ my twins. I was on the max dose of iron and still ate everything in sight with iron in it. Cream of Wheat is a must. I think it has more iron than anything out there including meat although meat is suppose to be a better source for you. Good luck! To stop myself from getting constipated I continued to eat a ton of fruits and veggies and it really helped. I made a fruit smoothy with tons of fruit every day and ate cherries often! It stinks but it does get better.
There is a triple stroller for little girls in the FAO Schwartz holiday catologue on pg24. It is ADORABLE!!!!!!! It looks so real I cannot believe it! I would have to buy this for my daughter if I had triplets! The fascination with multiples is everywhere right now!
Good luck Allison! It's so much fun to watch the progress on here of all you amazing moms of 3!!!!
Take care~

Thanks ladies!!
I have felt better lately since eating more meat and yes I am eating Cream of Wheat too. I love that stuff...especially now that it is getting colder!
Well I had another appt yesterday and the babies are sprouting! Annalise is measuring 3 lbs 2 oz, Isaac is 3 lbs. 4 oz., and Elijah is 2 lb. 12 oz. Big change from last Friday!! They are going to get even bigger after I eat this good food today for Thanksgiving!
Kristine, was your blood pressure ok up until you got to 33-34 weeks or was it always high? Mine has always been good. I keep wondering how it is going to happen...what is going to be the trigger that puts me into labor or a scheduled c-section. So many things that could happen I guess. I keep thinking my body will just think it is ready and my water will break...but who knows! Everything looks good so far so I am just praying that I can make it to 32 weeks, like you said I will feel so much better by then. And then the next milestone will be 34 weeks!
Everyone have a great day with the family!
Allison
My blood pressure was perfect till the last week, it slowly creeped up and up...Also i started gaining incredible amounts of weight every few days. As in i gained 5 lbs every 2-3 days (total signs of eclempsia) then when my bp was 160/100 and i had put on 10+ lbs in 4 days and i was swollen all over we realized thats it! my body cant handle it anymore and right before the ecelmpsia kicked in i delivered. I really hope you dont endure this, you entire body hurts from the swelling and you get really itchy. Make sure you get the steroid shots.... Goodluck
Now I know what to look for. I am so glad I get to hear from actual people instead of just listening to the Dr. ya know?
We are going to talk about the steroid shots next week, I forgot to ask him about that yesterday. I think Thanksgiving threw me all off!
I'll let you know how my appt goes next week, seems like so far away! I think these last few weeks are going to creep by!
My blood pressure was fine too up until around 29 weeks. It was as high as 160/100 for the last few weeks i was pregnant and i was also very swollen. I hope you're feeling well this week .
Kristine - i sent you a PM with some questions i have .
My appt today went great. The babies are measuring A: 3 lbs 7 oz, B: 3 lbs 6 oz, and C: 3 lbs 13 oz. C has always been smaller and I guess he was tired of being the smallest! Last week he measured 2 lbs 12 oz! She did it again to make sure she had it right and we got the same results! Fluid is good, cervix is still good at 3.6, they were moving like crazy so they passed their bio tests. My Dr. though had to leave to the hospital to deliver someone so I didn't get to chat with him. Nurse said he would call me because I did want to ask him about the steroid shots.
So onto another week! I will feel so good Sun. when I am 30 weeks!
I just thought I would copy this for you mums expecting three! this could be a life saver for many of you since your babies most likely will see some NICU time. You won't be turned away for already being pg either and it's cheap!
Faithandhope~ My supplimental insurance company is Colonial Life and Suppliment. You can also use Aflack and AARP to name a few. You can have as many policies as you would like which I didn't know. It saved our bums!!! We came home to a check, free of tax, for $32,000.00!!! It pays $1000 per day, per child in the NICU. A woman in my Mother of Twins group had 3 policies and got $90,000 within 2 weeks of being home! It usually only covers the first 30 days but it only cost me $11 per month. WOW huh???? I would recommend it to everyone! Especially since multiples have a higher chance of being in the NICU. The triple trouble thread should all get it! Also, you can sign up if you are already pg. It doesn't matter.
Both my babes are taking a nap so I better get something done. Good luck!
