Any Cyle buddies for Nov/Dec?

Post by samandaw1 »

Hello, my name is Sam and I am going through IVF for the second time starting late Nov/early December. I was positive with my first time with IVF and have a beautiful baby girl. My eggs are starting to decline (I am 35) and my husband has low sperm so it looks like we need to hit the whole thing again, and fast.

Anyhow, I found great support on this website the last time and feel the need to join again. Espcially since my husband is going to be out of town the whole entire time I am going through this this time around.

Hope to see meet some of you

Hi Sam,
did I read that right? You have a 6 month old & are going thru IVF again. Wow, that's a lot to put your body through on purpose. You must be one strong woman! I guess it happens all the time with natural pregnancies & your babies will be really close and able to play with each other.
I'm starting IVF in probably about 3 weeks depending on when AF shows up. This will be my 3rd fresh IVF, so far no BFP's but I'm hoping 3rd times' the charm.
Best of luck to both of us!

2ndtimer,

I hear you on how fast this is. Unfortuantly, it is not much of a choice. My eggs are decling and my husband has low sperm. On top of that, we have AMAZING insurance that covers it 90% but that is ending in March and then it will be out of pocket. Finacially and medically, it is in our best interest to go for it. As I wrote before my husband will be away for training on his new job through my WHOLE process, yikes!!!

I already forgot everything, but I think I am starting in 3 weeks as well. That is when I go off birth control and all the fun starts.

I am sorry this has been your third time. I can not imagine. I had a easy run of it last time but the doctor told me that is not the norm so I need to be prepared. Just so you know I know three couples who all went through IVF and all got pregnant on their third time. So it is true what they say....3 X's is a charm.

Love,

Sam

Hi! I'm in the prep cycle for my first IVF.

Post by boo1 »

Tenative plans for retrieval and transfer 1st-2nd weeks of December. (Right around my birthday).

I have a question. I started birth control pills this past Monday and will be on them until the 20th. The injectable meds start on the 25th. Will I have a period between? And does that matter? I know the RE knows what he is doing but I'm just curious. I'll have a billion questions between now and whenever but just one today. (Or one this morning!)

Thanks,
Laura

The RE nurse told me that I would have a period but that it wouldn't affect my stim schedule.

I'm a little nervous about giving myself injections. I've done it for migraines but this is different. I have this irrational fear that I won't do it right and somehow the medication won't "get there". Is that stupid?

I'm not stressing now, but I sure will be in a few weeks. I start the stim meds on 11/25.

Yikes!

Laura,

You should get your period but regardless of if and when you do they will consider your day 1 three or four days after you stop the pill. I think our timing is very similar. You are brave to give yourself the shots, I hope I am that brave. Some are not too bad it is more the "idea" of poking myself.

Good luck,

Sam

Hi Ladies,
I should be starting my stims tom depending on if everything's OK with the baseline U/S & labs. I'm getting really excited. I had acupuncture last night & asked if she could do anything to make me go ahead & get AF. Well, AF arrived overnight so now the whole ball is rolling.
I haven't found the shots to be that bad in the past. The hardest time is the first time you stick yourself. That & I always have a moment of panic about the dosage being correct. I absolutely have not been able to give myself the IM progesterone in oil injections -DH has to do that & I use lidocaine cream before the shot. I tried one time to give myself that shot but got stuck half way through, it was a mess!
Anyway, Good Luck to everyone. Remember to take care of yourselves!

Hello ladies!
This is our 1st IVF cycle. I just started my Lupron injections 10/27, and now I'm just waiting on AF. I haven't had any side effects from the Lupron, although I do feel bloated - but I usually feel bloated before a visit from AF. :?
So...once that starts, I go for day 3 u/s & stims should start soon after. I've been keeping my Gonal f pens in the fridge b/c they arrived in the mail in an iced package & the pharmacy phoned to remind me to keep them cool. But, on their website, their injection tutorial video says to make sure the pen is room temp...? Uh, confusing?
