Just want to say thanks for all your replies and although I'm no closer to making a decision  it's fantastic to have this support! I can't imagine having a conversation about this to my family, or even close friends, as DE is a topic which I can barely get my head around, let alone the average fertile couple!!

Chriss - talk about parallel universes! We may even may be cycling together in Dec. if I decide on the one last try...but just found out the embryologist is taking his annual leave at the end of Dec so it may have to be postponed (yet another month) if AF doesn't behave herself and arrive before the 9th Dec!

Amy - What's happening with you my dear? Cycling this month? or maybe in Dec with us?

LuAnne - lovely to hear such great news about the twins! Can I ask - did you use DE?

JenB - Next time I log on, I'm sure it will be good news from your end! All the best sweetie!

Gracielope, Yasmina, Tammy, Kat, Sonia, Catharine, belly4#2, Kim, Love, Socal and all the other great women on this thread, thanks again for all your support - Have a great weekend!

I've decided enough dwelling on me, me, me - Sod it - I'm off to the pub for an early Friday night drink (or three!)

Cheers,
Andrea

Yes, we used DE. Our clinic has a lot of EDs to choose from, so we were able to select someone w/very similar physical characteristics, as well as learn about their background (family info & genetic background, reproductive history, professional info, etc.)

JEN BABES
I logged on to see your BFP. I'll check back later. I hope you have a great time w/your family this weekend.

Jen: Congrats on your BFP!!!!!! I read some of the other blogs and it looks like you finally got your BFP!!!! Congrats to you and DH.

I posted Andrew's Halloween photo below. He was dressed like Tigger from Winnie the Pooh. He is definitely Tigger. He is so bouncy.

Regards,
Tammy :D

JenB - congratulations to you and DH on your BFP! such wonderful news! really happy for you! -- guess everything happens for a reason, regarding your last minute donor switch -- wishing you a smooth 9 months ahead.

Tammy - Andrew is such a cute little guy - and in his little Tigger suit...precious.

LuAnne - must have been the best feeling to see the babies - thrilled that all is going so well for you.

Andrea & chriss - keep us posted on your thoughts and plans. I can't offer any words of advice, but know in the end you'll both make a decision that is right for you and DH.

Sonia - hope you enjoyed the long weekend, if you were able to get time off and hope AF arrived and that all is well with you.

Had my 1st round of bloodwork last week. The results will go to my RE on Monday. Also going in for another test tomorrow and will hopefully find out if I will get a green light for tmt to begin on day 21 at the end of this week...

Hello to all! Hope everyone is doing well.

Happy Sunday to everyone-
So many posts since last I posted. Welcome to the new ladies to the group :) I'm afraid I don't have much time for personals. Hope all of you are doing well.

Jen: Cograts on the BFP :D I'm so happy for you.

Tammy: Tigger/Andrew is adorable.

Okay onto our story. We met with RE on Friday. The genetics came back from the fetal tissue. The good news is that DH and I are genetically 'normal' :D Not too surprising I know. The fetus was complete trisomy 16, which is embryonic lethal. We have an anwser as to what happened which is comforting. Complete trisomy means every cell had the extra chromosome 16; that is the tissue was not mosaic. We also learned that the tissue was XY. So sad but we have an understanding of why the heart ceased so early in development and we can move forward from here. Although this is the highest incident trisomy accounting for 1% of all miscarriages the RE agreed that it should not curtail our goal. She further went on to encourage another round tmt with our own eggs and sperm :D I'm very happy for this. Although we were prepared for IUI with donor sperm or embyro adoption, even egg adoption. As I am still spotting from the miscarriage 4 weeks now I had some blood work to confirm the HCG levels are back to 0. In addition , they are looking at the levels of estrodial and progesterone to try to see where I may be in my cycle. I did ask the RE about the thrombothilias. Since we have an genetic answer to the miscarriage that we should not worry about this. Basically there is no medical reason to order several thousands of dollars of tests to look for something that isn't medically justified at this time. I went to the chinese doc for acu and gave him the results and he has asked that we do not enter tmt till feb at the earliest for spring is better for growth. He feels that my body has been through alot, which it has-->no argument from me, and that I should rest 6 months before we do the next tmt to allow for my body to get back to 'normal' chi. I will ask the clinic about this when they call with the results. I may have to have another surgery to confirm the uterus is in tip-top form before proceeding anyways :( With the holidays approaching this may not be a bad suggestion. I really don't want the stress of tmt on top of family drama. I now am debating whether to inform my boss of some of this as I am sure I will need time off in any event. As I am on 6 month contract I have no vacation nor sick leave. Days needed for what ever situation surgery or tmt would be w/o pay [this is not a $burden for us]. But it is breach of contract and I could be terminated w/o notice for this. This is why I think it is best to be up front before tmt.

Well I must get ready for a soccer match. Everyone have a great week.

All the best to everyone.

Jen, Congratulations! Hope you will have a good journey for the next 8 months!

Tammy, thanks for posting the photo. Andrew looks very lovely in his tiger suit.

Catharine, good to know that you are almost ready to move on. It is almost better to know the cause for this mc. As Trisomy is the highest risk at our age, I rather to have a lethal one - we were living in some kind of fear but ready to accept whatever consequences before Eloise was born. Sorry for the stress from work. I hope that you can find a solution soon.

Chriss, LuAnne, Amy, Andrea, and everyone else here, have a nice week!

Hi All,
JenB - Congratulations. Eagerly awaiting to hear more good news from you.

Catharine, glad you got some answers. Rest up, definately check out what your RE says about waiting, etc.

Tammy, Andrew is adorable. I hope that you had a fun Halloween. Holidays must be so much fun when you have a child to share them with.

Amy, hope all goes well with bloodwork, etc. I know that you've been waiting. You are almost there.

Yasmina, I recall you suggesting pineapplea at one point. Can you give me some info on that? Any reason? Who suggested it, etc? Thanks.

Thinking of you Andrea my parallel universe buddy. How's it going? What are you thinking today?

Hi to all I missed and hope you are well. I'm still in limbo, waiting for ovulation so we can do a natural IUI. (Have to do something while we wait to start next IVF cycle late Nov./Early Dec.) My cycle is way off. I'm at day 22 and still not ovulating! My doc says that my body is "Re-setting" itself. Looks like there's a follice almost ready. A couple more days. We are not putting too much thought into the IUI, but figured it's better than not doing anything. My insurance covers it, so why not? Well, have a great day and speak to you soon. -chriss

hello everyone!
jenb - hope you are taking good care of yourself these days! congrats again.

catharine - do hope you and DH are feeling better, or at least could find some closure as to the "why" things didn't work out for you last time and can look to all things positive in the coming months. Enjoy your "time off" together. Spring does sound like a nice time of year for growth as far as babies and nature are concerned. The advice from your acu person is to be noted! Keep up the good work with your fertility diet and your time will come.

BigJ - been thinking about you and hope all goes well for you for #2 this month!

The test I had today had to do with "all things bacteria" and with DNA?? -- many unfamiliar names -- has anyone had to have something like that?? It was like a pap test, but they are looking for other things ... -- I've mailed my RE to ask for an explanation, so I'm waiting for that - because I thought it was just going to be a regular pap test --I only know is that if I pass it, I get to move onto the next step...so, keep your fingers crossed for me!

Regards and good thoughts to Yasmina, Tammy, Andrea, chriss, sonia, gracielope, Anna and LuAnne+2 and all the other lovely ladies here! Hope you all are well.

Enjoy your week! -- We are expecting snow! Brrrr!

Hi Ladies, wondering if anyone is starting a protocol this month. Yesterday, I started on a fresh pack of BC- and my first injection of Lupron. It's been 4 months since our last IVF, I'm trying not to think to much about it. I feel our baby wasn't ready to be born when we didn't get a BFP 4 months ago, this time around, I'm going to try and not read into every little thing. I'm thinking of not getting the grade of the embroys this time around, that part really stresses me out. I rather not know. DH is going to get all the information, he's very calm. I talked my RE yesterday, about my stress being a factor, and says not to worry about it. He has had patients that are worse, and they got a BFP.

What worries me is that I"ve never gotten pregnant. Has anyone else never gotten pregnant and are over 40 like me?

Jen B - Think positive thoughts - Awesome, Awesome news! You are in my thoughts, and I will be praying for you.

Catharine - Hang in there - Very sorry to hear about the mc. I can't imagine how you are feeling. Just know that things "will" get better they always do. There has to be a bright light and the end of a dark tunnel. Good things happen when we least expect them too.

Tammy - Andrew is sooooo cute! God Bless!

Andrea - .......... follow your heart. It's not an easy decision to make, but I feel you will know when you make the right decision, because your heart will feel at peace with it. I hope that made sense.
