Hey Tanya
I was looking forward to a few months off but my clinic said that if I was to wait to next year that I would be able to claim back as much through the health fund. Because we have already spend so much I may have to have another shot before xmas. I see my doctor in three weeks so I will know more then.

How are you feeling? Gee it's not long before you see your bubs!!

Hi Ladies
Thanks for all you support, it really does help.
I've had a really strange few days - was very down after the BFN and not sure whether to continue this month or take a break. I couldn't get to talk to the clinic properly before the weekend then AF arrived Saturday so I thought I'd just go with the flow and take some time out. But I don't cope very well with not having a plan. By monday I'd slept loads over the weekend and felt physically better but needed to do something. So I talked to the consultant and we decided to give iui one more go with increased dose of menopur to, hopefully, get more than 1 follie.
So I'm back up and fighting :)
I feel so much better 'cos I'm doing something and I know that if i doesn't work this time then I'll definately take a break over xmas and go in to discuss ivf.
Is anyone else back on the rollercoaster this month?

Hi Everyone,
Su, yes I am with you, I think having a plan "B" helped me cope. I tend to get very unsettled when I felt like I was in limbo. In hindsight the next steps always get revealed in time but sometimes just not quick enough in my mind

Kery, I understand that, unfortunately finance play a part here so you do what you can to minimize the impact.

As far as a roller coaster, we have just boarded a different one!! We are moving toward adoption. Domestic (US) private adoption. We just retained the lawyer and started the vast amounts of paper work. The last IVF failure did not break me like I thought it would. I thought I would say okay we are blessed as is so let's move on as a single child home. But it had quite the opposite, I still feel we are blessed as is, but we have so much more love to give that it'll be worth the effort to find a child that needs that love and support.

I'll be in touch!

WOW Donna that great news :D :D
I can only imagine the amount of paper work that goes along with private adoption. We are in the process of dh adopting my son and there is a never ending paper trail. Did they say how long the adoption will take?

Hi Gargy!!! Hope that things are going well with the house situation....

Donna
How wonderful! That is so great that you will be getting your child for sure this time! I am so happy for you and I hope that things move along quickly for you!!!! Do you want a girl or a boy? Or do you just take who is next? Are you getting a baby or older child? I do not know how that works. Sorry to interrogate you!!! LOL

Hi Kery....hope that you are doing well....

Not much for me. Another u/s on Monday to make sure the nuggets are fine and then a repeat 3D u/s on Monday the 12th. as well as an OB appt. It is almost over and I will be holding them soon! Yeah! My back is way out of whack. It hurts all day every day now. Every day can be a challenge...oh well I know it will be worth it but it is hard.

Hi Kery,

So have you decided to have another go? When do you start?

Hi Su,

Yep, can definitely relate to having plans in place. Sometimes I think it's the only thing that keeps me sane.

Hi Donna,

That's BRILLIANT news about the adoption. I'm so happy for you. Good luck with the paperwork and I hope your little one, whatever age, joins your family soon. I'm glad that IVF hasn't broken your spirit.

Hi Tanya,

Hope the little ones show their best side for the ultrasound.

As for me, still looking at houses. My immune system decided to enforce a time out and I was home for 4 days with a URTI. Just seems to be the thing this year. think if I can survive until early December, most of the stress should drop away and my health will get better. Here's hoping anyway...

Hi Girls :)

Donna - Good Luck with the adoption process, I hope you'll be bringing home a little one before too long.

Gargy - sorry you've not been feeling well. Hope the househunting's going ok.

Kery - How are you doing? I think waiting for an appt is nearly as bad as the 2ww :)

TransRN - Good luck with u/s on Monday. I bet you're looking forward to the 3d u/s - that must be amazing!

Hi to everyone I've missed

Not much happening here - had an early scan on Friday just to check I wasn't over-stimming with the higher dose. 2 follies each side all between 5 - 8mm. Got next scan Monday. Its weird tho' 'cos I'm not getting many side-effects this time - not sure if its just my body has got used to the meds or if the homeopathy has kicked in. Don't get me wrong, its nice not to feel so crap as before but just a little worried its not working.

Hi Su
What date is your iui around?

Hi Gargy
Gee I hope you are starting to feel better and the right house comes your way soon!!! My clinic makes us take a month break in between cycles so I will be starting meds towards the end of the month.

Hope everyone is doing ok.

Hi Kery - With my cycles it anybody's guess as to when iui will be
Friday will be day 14 so I'm hoping around then but its been anything from day 15 to 25 so far - just depends how I respond to the meds. I tell the nurse that I like to keep her on her toes. She never knows what to expect when she scans me :D

Hi Everyone,
Oh Gargy a URTI is lousy isn't it? I hope you are feeling better!

Su,
That's great you are feeling good, what type of homeopathic remedies are you doing?

Tanya,
Hope you are taking care of yourself! It must be difficult carrying two! Can I ask if you feel any anxiety abou the birth of the children regarding having used a donor? I remembering feeling like I wanted to be alone in the hospital to check out and become familiar with what she would look like before anyone else did. I don't know what I was expecting :? she came out looking like a newborn, which I don't think looks like either parent in most cases anyway  As it turns out she looks so much like me it takes the focus off "the other half" if you know what I mean. Sometimes I hear she looks like my husband though and in some way she does. It's real funnny. All fears disapeared once she was in my arms anyway. I was just curious what your exeperience / feelings are so far.

Hi Kery, The average adoption I was told takes an average 12-18mos. Not bad considered spent the last two years trying IVF, right?

We are going to adopt a newborn and the gender does not matter to us. We are very excited and overwhelmed but I have to remember we were also overwhelmed starting IVF too.

So sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. I sure hope that things start to improve for you in that department and fast! Want to get through the holidays well girl!!!

Su
The 3D u/s are amazing. I get to have that one done next Monday-woo Hoo. Today I have to go in for the biophysical profile and just a look see at how they are doing. Well I hope. They are moving around enough!!! Love every minute of it though. Sounds like you are off to a good start girl. my second time around I didnt have as much discomfort and bloating until later than the first...I cant explain it! Good Luck to you on this go round!

Donna
I guess that in my own twisted mind I have considered these babies my DH's that I havent given it much though. I do wonder what they will look like though. You are right people say oh they have your or she has his.... but the point is that no one knows and there are going to be like a million visitors to see them. When my mom looked at the 3D u/s she was like oh Riley looks like Tom already! I just smile at those comments. Knowing what I know. I just let it go and be happy about it. I just can't wait to see what they look like. Will they have hair? and what color will it be? my boys have light brown/blonde hair especially in the summer months but other than that no real anxiety to report. I am so ready to get them out! The stroller has got to be easier at this point in the game with all the stretching and back pain. I know it will be worth it but it is harder carrying two babies that is for sure. Thanks for asking.

That's aweseome Tanya - aren't those comments funny? It almost becomes a private joke between you and hubby, doesn't it? which is kind of fun. I hope you didn't mind me asking I was so curious what others felt during this time too. Sounds like you are in such a good place with it. I guess I was a bit scared ... of what?? I honestly I still don't know and the funny thing is that was even with our family knowing!! I think it was just an exciting, but scary, time in general because it was all so new. Life is certainly and adventure isn't it?
