Here we go... my E2 dropped to 3700 today, and I have over 20 follies. My ovidrel shot will be tonight, and my ER will be Sunday at 8 a.m. I am still at risk for OHSS and the nurse said it will hit about 24 hours after the ER.
I am so relieved... we'll see what happens...

Hi all.
Home from ER and I'm a little crampy and spotting, which is to be expected. I had all 4 follicles with eggs!!!!! So now they're in a warm dark space, hopefully growing. I'll be updated during the weekend and on My way to ET on Monday.
Good thoughts and wishes to you Grace. Think happy thoughts on Sunday for you.
Cinday & Grace...Best of luck to both of you. Hope all goes well!!!
Went for first u/s and b/w since I started taking meds. I've been on Gonal-F for 4.5 days. Took clomid for 5 days. Here's where I stand. No follicles bigger than 10. I know the u/s person said I had 2 at 10 and a bunch of smaller ones, but really didn't go into much more detail. My nurse said that on left and right I had no more than size 10. My estrogen levels is at 210 and LH is at 5.08. I wasn't home, so the message was left on the answering machine. You would think I would know if those are good numbers or not, but really don't know if it's where it should be for this time. Go back Monday morning for more u/s and b/w and for now just continuing on 300 units of Gonal-F twice a day....
Kbat: I think your numbers sound good. I never had follies over 10 at both of my first u/s visits for both cycles. Keep us posted on your u/s today!!
Cindy: How did your transfer go? How are you doing?
I had my ER yesterday and had 27 eggs. Of those, 24 were mature and 15 fertilized. Needless to say, we're thrilled. My ER was a bit of a nightmare (4 tries to start IV, and the nurse had trouble giving me enough meds to knock me out). Today I am drinking tons of water and trying to avoid OHSS. My ET is supposed to be on Wed. Please cross your fingers for me!

Grace,
Thanks great w/ the fertilized eggs!! I'll keep my fingers crossed that your embryos will do what they are supposed to do and that your e/t goes well!
Cindy--I hope you are doing well...
As for me, I went in for u/s this morning and although I haven't had the official work from my nurse yet, I was told by the u/s tech that one was at about 15, one was at 14.5 and one is at about 10--then lots of smaller ones like around 3 or 4 mm which wouldn't really do anything. But she seemed confident that I would have at least the 3 required for an e/r. Last one w/ them was touch and go. I will wait to hear how my bloodwork is and what the official word is later on today!
I wasn't successful to do ET today. Our one egg that fertilized did not grow and the other three did not take. My journey to becoming a birth mom is ended. I can no longer keep up with the up's and down's, and feel it's in my best interest to stop trying (after nearly 7 yrs of trying).
There is a reason for everything, and now DH and I are going to try (one more time) to adopt through foster care. There are millions of kids already out there who need a loving, caring parent and hopefully we'll be paired with a sibling group.
So, I wish each and everyone of you the best and that you reach your goals for your greatest desire.
Cindy--
I am sorry that it didn't work out for you. I myself will be probably ending my IVF journey soon... I am on my last one--possibly one more after this depending on insurance and doctor. My husband is opposed to adoption/donor eggs, so whatever happens to me will be probably the end.
Cindy, I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. It sounds like some lucky siblings out there are waiting to become a part of your family, and I wish you the very best.
I think we all struggle with figuring out the next step after being a birth mom doesn't work out. My dh and I are in disagreement over adoption, and thus I feel that if IVF does not work out (and we are on our second try of three max) I will be facing divorce or major counseling. When our first cycle resulted in a BFN, we had the worst fight of our marriage. Of course, we never discussed adoption before we got married... because we didn't think we needed to.
Kbat - we are also not using donor eggs or sperm and thus our journey will end here also if that's the way it goes. It sounds like you are making good progress!!
I'm on the progesterone shots now... ouch!!

Hi Girls,
It does not sound like the mood is very positive today. I am not having a great day myself. I went in today for my first blood work apt. after starting stims last Friday. My E2 levels were lower today, than when they did my baseline blood work and u/s.
I am so discouraged. My numbers are lower than last time, and I am on more med's this time. I don't know what to think. I am just praying my E2 numbers shoot up by Thursday, which is my next blood work and u/s apt. My E2 level is only 16.
Cindy,
I am so sorry that it has not worked out yet. I say yet ,because I know when you get your arms around a beautiful child, regardless of whether it's biologically yours or not, you will be the most happy and appreciative mom ever.
Grace35,
How are you feeling?
Kbat,
sounds like so far, so good.
I pray everyone stays encouraged through this. It is a nightmare process!
I am really keeping my fingers crossed for everyone.
It's a tough decision to know what to do next.... I would love to do one more IVF after this, but not really sure what'll happen
Looks like I have one follicle at 15, one at 14.5 and one at 10. Start the granilex tomorrow in addition to gonal-f. Wrote down the other stuff, but don't have it handy.... go back on Wed., which is day 10 from starting everything.
Kbat,
I am just wondering... I know you have posted that you are also a slow responder. What is your E2 level usually at 4 days into the stims?
I said that I was not going to drive myself crazy with this, but as usual, I am.
thanks,
alittlegrace
to be honest, I can't remember what my e2 levels were on day 4. I know that this time it's was at about 210. This cycle is pretty much different than any other one I had. For one thing, I have been doing accupuncture since the end of Sept. Additionally, I usually take lupron and either gonal-f or follistom. This time I took clomid & no lupron and gonal-f. Tomorrow in the a.m. I also start taking ganirelix. So, I am not sure if this different combo is making changes in me. I am 40 years old so I have been told that my ovarian reserve is low w/ fsh levels that are considered borderline.... I am sure that I've written things down, but don't remember where I was in previous cycles.
Please keep your fingers crossed that I don't have the egg retrieval on Friday. My husband has to be in court for his job at 11. He should be able to do what he needs to do, but I may be stranded all day at the clinic depending on the time they schedule us. When I go back in on Wed. I am going to put down on my card that should it be on Friday, I need the earliest time possible for the e/r, but it's an hour away from home, so
Cindy: I am so very sorry to hear this. *hugs* I wish you the very best in your adoption plans!
Kbat: Sounds like things are moving along for you. I'll cross my fingers that you don't get stuck at the clinic on Friday! Good luck with everything.
I had my visit on Friday with my RE. We all seem to be on the same page. I'm going to let my natural cycle come back and test my FSH levels on Day 3. From that, we'll decide where we go. So, I guess until I have a "good" AF and can get my FSH tested, I'm, once again, in a holding pattern.
I've done day 3 fsh level tests a few times and I've also done clomid challenge tests twice. I think my clinic likes to see day 3 fsh levels below 10 (mine ranges from 11-11.9). I've heard others like to see it below 12. But my "research" seems to show most don't like to see it above 15. There have been success stories out there even w/ high fsh levels. Good luck w/ that....... I am glad to hear that you and your re are on the same page, that's important.
I am hoping for an e/r for the week-end. I should know more on Wed. I am sure that I am worrying needlessly--afterall that's what I do. It's very fustrating w/ my husband. He's a lawyer, and I told him that the e/r could be as early as Nov. 7 and as late as Nov. 13. He told me he could work around it. Now I find out on Friday he has to be someplace for work at 11. If we were doing this locally, I wouldn't have a problem, but my clinic does all the e/r at the main facility about an hour away (w/o traffic). So, he would have to leave by about 9:45 to get there on time--enough time for him to give fresh sperm sample. Then he tells me maybe we need to take separate cars. We've done this 4 other times, so he knows I can't drive myself home, so I don't know where he's coming from. I guess that what happens when you marrry a work-a-holic. I will leave a note on Wed that if the e/r goes on Friday morning that I want the earliest time possible (probably about 7 or 7:30) and we should probably be fine if they accomadate us. But knowing my clinic, they probably won't pay attention to that. So, I am sure things will work out fine, but I tend to be a worried wart, so until I know more, I will worry about it.
