Thank you..When you had your ET did they make you lay on your back for two days? This clinic has you lay on your back for an hour after transfer. At home, the first 24 hours are on your back and the next 24 hours you can lay on your side. I guess it's time to put on the butler uniform so I can cater to my wife.

Hi guys.

Just an update from me.
Trigger shot tonight at 10.30pm and EC on thursday 8th Nov.
Last time i had 6 eggs but none could fertilized with IVF.
This time i might have more eggs and will go for ICSI.
I will take the friday off to rest so see you guys on tuesday with the latest update.

Keep your fingers crossed for me.

talisen-How are you doing?

Vickers-My clinic just said bedrest for 48 hrs. I only had to lay at the office after the procedure for 30 minutes. As far as laying on your back I am not sure why you have to do that. My RE said that there really isn't anything technical about being on bedrest. The only reason they have you do it is to keep your heart rate down. This way the blood flow can concentrate on your uterus. They told me I could lay on my stomach, sit up etc. as long as I was relaxing. The embryos move around so staying in a frozen position isn't really necassary. I would definetly speak to your RE they are all different. I would do as they tell you as thy know your case and will recommend what is best for you. Good Luck today ihope you have some lovely blasts to choose from.

Everything went well at ET. They were able to transfer 2 blasts and they are still culturing 7 until tomorrow to see what they can freeze. The 2 that were transfered ended up being grade C. My wife was in tears. Our RE assured her that it is VERY rare (below 5%) that they even see grade A's and it's not like A's are any more gauranteed than B's or C's. They mostly see C's and our clinic carries a 64% success rate. You just never know. It didnt help that the lady next to us who was having an ET says from the other side of the curtain to her husband "They told us ours were ABOVE average". What is this?? A contest? We should be rooting each other on not rubbing it in.

wannabe - I was kinda off on the "be on your back for 48 hours thing." It's more like what you said.

Vickers-tell your wife not to stress. Your RE is right. Hardly ever do they see pefect blasts. I was also bummed when I had to do a 3 day transfer instead of a 5 but my Re told me that she had a lady that had only 1 embie that was a 4-cell grade C to transfer. Guess what? She is now a momma. So miracles happen just stay positive and if it helps just know that you have many here rooting you on. As far as the other lady there that was to do her ET you would think she of all people would understand what we go through. Try not to let it bother you. The only thing that matters is that you get the BFP on the 15th. Lets hope we can celebrate together since we are testing the same day. Anyway, you said they were going to culture the other 7 embies-did they make it to blast stage? I hope so it will be nice to have some frosties.

Give your wife my best and to hang in there. Read a good book, watch a movie and eat something yummy!

It's so interesting to hear how each RE has their own restrictions. My restrictions were: we stayed at the office laying on our back with legs propped up for 1 hr after ET, then home laying down in the car. Once at home in bed with legs propped up for the first 6 hours then strict bed rest only getting up for restroom, after 36 hours can be propped up. Followed by two more days low activity can get up for food, restroom, move from one room to the other but otherwise on the couch or in bed.

Only 9 more days!!

Tilly-RE's are different. I guess all that matters is that bfp. Who cares what we have to do to get there. I pray that the 15th will bring you,Vickers and me that BFP! Wow, maybe 3 is a charm.

Vickersx3 - congrats on the great ET. Two blasts is great no matter what stage they are at. It sounds like you are going to have some frosties for backup just in case - or to use down the road!

Wannabeamomma - how are you going? how is the 2ww going?

Tilly - how are you surviving your bedrest? hope the 2ww is flying by!

Sorry if I missed everyone! I am thinking of you!

I went in for my day 12 u/s and they want me to come back again tomorrow. I have 12 eggs but at this stage only 3 would be considered 'ready'. There are a few more that are close and then some that I don't think will make it because they are still 1.1 and 1.2. I wish there was some way to hold off the large ones while the small ones grow!! We'll just have to see how things go tomorrow! I guess my ER is going to be Sat or Sun. I am excited at the potential for more than 5 or 6!
