Grey, thanks for your encouraging words about adopting.

i am not sure if i mentioned it, but we are trying to do another cycle in january, but in the meantime i am also looking into adoption, since it provides some sort of hope and comfort, which i really need right now. according to the adoption agency they don't want people to pursue both adoption and ivf, but i just can't help it. do you guys have any thoughts about that. i guess i also feel like i am getting older and there are fewer and fewer places one can adopt from, so i am trying to get in there before we get too old; so sad...

has anyone of you ever thought about donor eggs, i guess i am also thinking about that, if my next cycle does not work out. perhaps i should not consider adopting, if i still have all these ivf cycles that i am thinking about doing ... anyone any thoughts. my head sometimes seems like its spinning because all i think about is having a baby. sorry about all this information about myself, but i guess i just needed to vent.

i wish everyone the best of luck and much much baby dust to all of you.

Can I join the club? My signature explains me. I'm 2wwing (halfway through!), and I would write more, but I'm busy bashing my brains out on the computer keyboard right now. I'll check back in when I am halfway to sane. Probably around Christmas.

Good luck to everyone here, and remember: old codgers like us have kids all the time. Hell, my mum had me when she was 40!

Hi Botheration, welcome to the club! Hope you're doing well during your 2WW. I'm now on day 3 of stims & will go in the am for u/s & labs to see how I'm responding so far. This is the 3rd fresh IVF for me, hopefully 3rd time is the charm.

Welcome crunchy and congrats on the 15 eggs - that is fantastic! Let us know how the fertilization goes!!

2ndtimer - how was your u/s today! Lots of follies I hope!

Botheration - hope the 2ww is going well!! You are getting close!

Pummalaemma - of course you can start to consider adoption even though you are still thinking of IVF. I completely understand that - you have to feel like you are moving forward! I am also considering donor eggs - in fact this is my last cycle with my eggs, if this doesn't work then we'll resort to donor eggs. Good luck with your cycle in January!

Tali - sorry to hear about your bfn. They are tough to go through but hopefully your RE will come up with a new plan for your next cycle.

Grey - that is a great story! My mom says a similar type of thing to me each time I have a failed cycle. She says, well when your baby finally arrives you'll understand why it took so long for him/her to get here because you'll know that this baby was the baby you were meant to have.

Hope everyone is going well! I go in for another u/s tomorrow so hopefully things are progressing well!!!

Hi Ladies,
I had the u/s & labs this morning. So far good news. I have about 5 follicles on one side & 7 on the other. I was surprised because I'm feeling great so far(not the case last 2 ivf's). I guess the acupuncture is helping me feel more relaxed & sleep better at night.
Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hello!
Well I had my u/s this morning and like 2ndtimer I am at 12 follies. They are of differing size at the moment - smallest at 1.1 with largest at 2.1 so who knows how many I'll end up with. As of today there were 3 that could be ready to go and about 4-5 that are almost there. I have to go back tomorrow so hopefully the 4-5 will have popped up and be ready. I guess that means either Sat or Sun ER.
I am started to feel 'full' but I can definitely hold off another day or two to make sure that I get all the eggs I can!!!

Hi ladies, sorry i've not posted, but back to work on Monday with a bang!! staff went off sick so no hope of taking this second week easy. Feeling ok, cramping a bit and nauseous now and then, but not reading too much into it. only 5 more days to go.

Pumma, glad your numbers are nearly down to zero, and you'll be able to start again soon.

Kelly, follie count sounds great, hope your little ones catch up and you geta good crop. Hipe your not feeling too uncomfortable.

Su, thanx for the list it looks great, i am useless on anything like that. When is your next scan? if its tomorrow good luck.

Brotheration, how you doing on the 2ww, are you cracking up yet, i am considering doing an HPT on Sunday, official test day, but my clinic are closed for bloods so have to wait till Monday.

Good Morning,

Well, just got back from my day 13 u/s and its a go. I am doing the trigger shot tonight with ER on Saturday. They said that as of today there are 7 mature follicles and then there are the smaller ones some of which may pop up over the next couple of days (fingers crossed). I am excited but nervous since this is our last round with my eggs. I usually get good fertilization but what if things are different this time. Yikes, I am slowly gonig crazy!!

Sorry no personals! Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi Beach,

My clinic usually only takes them to blast if they have at least 6-8 good embryos on day 3. So, I guess we'll see.

I think the plan is to transfer all embryos that we end up with. So, if we have more than 6 then we'll take them to blast and transfer what remains on day 5 and if we have 5 or less we'll transfer them all on day 3.
